The Awakening of the Paranoid Villain’s Little Daddy
The Awakening Of the Paranoid Villain’s Little Daddy | Chapter 17

The next morning.

Wen Cishu was practicing Tai Chi with the master in the small garden, listening to the breathing techniques and moving slowly with his eyes closed. The master saw that he was practicing well and looked much better than the last time he came, which put him at ease. Working as a coach for the wealthy, the biggest fear is that the client won’t cooperate or has too many demands. However, this Mr. Wen was just like his name, gentle and refined, never making things difficult for others.

Forty minutes later, the session ended. Wen Cishu bid farewell to the master and asked Ah Yi to fetch some pastries from home for the master to take back. Aunt Zhong handed him a warm towel to wipe his hands. “Are you tired?”

Wen Cishu shook his head. He had slept well last night, so standing and practicing for a few dozen minutes wasn’t tiring. “Where’s my phone?” Before practicing Tai Chi, he had sent a WeChat message to Bo Tingyuan, asking about Grandpa Yiming’s birthday.

Aunt Zhong took it out of her pocket and handed it to him. There was a reply from Bo Tingyuan. [I’ll come home this afternoon to pick you and Yiming up.]

Wen Cishu was surprised. Was he planning to go too? Aunt Zhong saw him stop in his tracks and asked, “Is there something urgent?”

“No,” Wen Cishu joked, “What urgent matter would come looking for me? Wouldn’t the other party be anxious?”

Aunt Zhong chuckled. Just then, a call came in on the phone screen. It was from the program group of “The Baby is Superman.” Wen Cishu was surprised and sighed softly, “Someone really is looking for me, huh?”

He pressed the answer button, “Hello, I’m Yiming’s dad.”

“Hello, hello!” The staff member’s tone was inexplicably excited, yet restrained. “Yiming’s dad, I’m calling today to talk to you about the show.”

It turned out that after the first episode of the show aired, it garnered quite a bit of attention and was a hot topic. Some viewers left messages on the show’s official platform, hoping for a themed episode featuring “a family of three.”

The staff member explained the background and, in a friendly and consultative tone, asked, “I’m calling today to get a feel for your thoughts. Do you think Yiming’s other dad might accept our invitation?”

Wen Cishu thought, it seems they haven’t made a final decision and are negotiating with the guests. “Because Yiming’s big dad is quite busy with work…”

He stopped mid-sentence, suddenly remembering that a few days ago, Bo Tingyuan was in the parking area within the program group’s sight the entire time. Wasn’t this just blatantly lying?

He felt awkward. Fortunately, the staff member didn’t dwell on it and said, “Yes, yes, we understand. So this family of three theme might be scheduled for the fourth episode or a special edition. Please help us communicate with Yiming’s dad, okay? Personally, I believe Yiming would love to see both dads on the show together.”

That last sentence was quite persuasive. Wen Cishu said, “Okay, we’ll discuss it within the family and get back to you.”

“Great! Thank you, Yiming’s dad! Say hi to Yiming for me! I voted for him!” The staff member quickly said with a smile, “Bye, Yiming’s dad!”

Wen Cishu felt like a string of exclamation marks was coming at him and thought that this staff member, like Little Monkey, was really full of passion for life.

In the afternoon.

While Ah Yi was washing his hair, Wen Cishu took a short nap, and when he woke up, he felt completely relaxed. Bo Yiming was jumping around in the wardrobe looking for clothes. When he turned his head, he saw his little dad leaning on the sofa.

Wen Cishu’s eyes were half-closed, his freshly washed black hair draped over his shoulders like ink-colored tassels. His delicate fingers were slowly playing with a white jade bamboo bracelet.

Sometimes, Bo Yiming felt that period dramas weren’t as appealing, probably because he had seen his little dad so often in real life that his aesthetic standards had been raised infinitely.

“Hmm?” Wen Cishu didn’t hear any movement from him, so he opened his phoenix eyes and blinked, “Haven’t you picked something for dad yet?”

He flicked his slender fingers, put on the bracelet, and got up from the sofa with the help of Aunt Zhong. “Just like you and your big dad, dad will wear a suit too. Don’t bother picking, it’s too much trouble.”

Aunt Zhong gently supported him. Bo Yiming shook his head vigorously, “No, suits are boring. I like it when little dad wears something nice.”

Wen Cishu passed by him, ruffling his fluffy hair, “Then why are you wearing a suit?”

“I’m a little foreigner,” Bo Yiming said with a cheeky grin. Ever since he started school, people called him that, but he didn’t mind because he did have a distinctly mixed-race face. Of course, Bo Yiming considered himself a handsome little foreigner who perfectly inherited the good looks of both dads.

Wen Cishu chuckled silently. Even Aunt Zhong laughed. “Aunt Zhong, I remember little dad has a long string of beads. If he wears that, what clothes would match?”

Bo Yiming gestured with his hands to show the specific shape of the beads. Aunt Zhong thought for a moment and asked, “A necklace?”

Wen Cishu watched Little Monkey gesturing and guessed, “Is it a back cloud?”

“Yes! That’s it!” Bo Yiming was happy, “Aunt Zhong, can you find it for me?”

Seeing Aunt Zhong really taking him to find it, Wen Cishu lazily sat back on the sofa and reminded, “Yiming, get dad a light one. The heavy ones weigh on the shoulders.”

Bo Tingyuan probably inherited the Bo family’s old master’s interest in collecting antiques, so he often scoured auction houses for old items. There were several sets of court beads and back clouds, some with over a hundred jade beads.

Ever since they were brought over, Wen Cishu had never worn them. Just looking at them made him feel tired. Soon, Bo Yiming came out holding two jewelry boxes. “Little dad, how about you wear the clothes with the golden bird embroidery?”

Aunt Zhong said, “That’s a white crane.” When Bo Yiming got closer and bent down to put the boxes down, Wen Cishu quickly flicked his straight nose. “Today is your grandpa’s birthday. Is it appropriate for dad to dress like he just walked out of a museum?”

“If grandpa sees it, he’ll definitely be even happier.” Bo Yiming said to Aunt Zhong, “Aunt Zhong, quickly get dad the clothes with the white crane.”

Wen Cishu was afraid of him and held onto Aunt Zhong’s arm. “No.” He remembered he had a few modified new Chinese-style clothes that wouldn’t look out of place with a back cloud, so he asked Aunt Zhong to get them from another wardrobe.

After a while, Wen Cishu changed into a night-blue satin shirt, with matching loose and flowing pants. The fabric had a hidden pattern of begonia flowers, making him look elegant and noble. As he raised his hand to fasten the crescent buttons on the pipa sleeves, he walked out.

“Wow!” Bo Yiming felt like someone from a TV drama had walked out. But he was still surprised, “Little dad, why aren’t you wearing white?”

“You and your big dad are wearing dark suits. If I wear white, wouldn’t it be too out of place?” Wen Cishu looked down at the two strings of back clouds. One of them had a jade pendant in a dark green tone, warm and steady.

“This one then.” Wen Cishu lifted his pant leg and sat on the sofa, “Help dad put it on.”

Bo Yiming picked up the red bead back cloud and put it around his dad’s neck, unable to resist admiring it, “Little dad~ I don’t even want you to go out.”

“Why?” Wen Cishu felt the weight of the beads, which wasn’t too heavy. Bo Yiming pouted childishly, “You’ll get snatched away.”

Wen Cishu ruffled his hair with a smile, “Then should dad change again?”

“No!” Bo Yiming held onto his little dad’s hand, unable to stop looking at him. Just then, Uncle Xu knocked on the door and entered, saying he was there to deliver something.

Wen Cishu immediately noticed the small velvet jewelry box in his hand, which looked just the right size for a ring. A thought quickly crossed his mind. Bo Yiming was the first to ask, “Grandpa Xu, what’s that in your hand?”

Uncle Xu placed the small box on the coffee table, “The eldest young master told me that sir asked about the ring. So I went to find it. It’s been kept on the third floor.”

The third floor referred to the room where other jewelry and art collections were stored. The quick-handed Bo Yiming, sitting next to his little dad, reached over to open it. It was indeed Wen Cishu’s wedding ring from back then.

Wen Cishu smiled at Uncle Xu, “Uncle Xu, did you put the ring on the third floor?”

Uncle Xu met the sir’s dark eyes and nodded reluctantly. The sir usually had an excessively good temper, but when he got serious, it was hard to tell what he was thinking. The eldest young master too, why did he instruct him to give it?

Both of them were hard to figure out. Truly, they were a family. Uncle Xu, with a slightly sweaty back, glanced at the innocent little young master, who looked especially adorable at the moment.

Wen Cishu wouldn’t make things difficult for Uncle Xu, so he just asked. Before Uncle Xu left, he said, “The eldest young master is already waiting downstairs.”

“So soon?” Wen Cishu reminded the little monkey who was studying the wedding ring, “Alright, go change your clothes and do your hair. We have to go to the birthday banquet.”

“Oh.” Bo Yiming took out the ring, “Little dad, let me put the ring on you.”

Wen Cishu smiled and took it from his hand, placing it back into the velvet of the ring box. Bo Yiming’s handsome little face showed a dumbfounded expression, “Huh?”

Why did little dad put it away? Didn’t Uncle Xu bring it over to be worn? Wen Cishu leaned over, pinched his son’s little face, and whispered affectionately, “You, little dummy.”

Bo Yiming: ? What’s going on, I don’t understand!

Wen Cishu didn’t give him a chance to ask, pushing him to change clothes, “Hurry up, or should I and your big dad go first? You can walk there yourself?”

“I don’t want that!” Bo Yiming jumped up, “Even if I go alone, I want to take a helicopter!”

But when he reached the door, he leaned against the door frame and poked his head back in, “Little dad, you can’t go with big dad first, you have to wait for me. I’m your cute little son, after all.”

Wen Cishu raised his hand with a smile, “Got it, cute little son, go on, go on.”

He had an auntie follow to help. Aunt Zhong then helped Wen Cishu tie up his hair, so the long hair wouldn’t cover the beautiful and precious back cloud.

Wen Cishu looked at Aunt Zhong in the mirror and joked with a smile, “Aunt Zhong, you’re in on it with Yiming, huh?”

Aunt Zhong said, “Yiming’s not wrong. You look great, and your complexion is radiant. Anyone would be happy to see it.”

She noticed that he was holding onto the ring box like it was a lost treasure found again. — Recently, the second young master has really changed a lot.

Wen Cishu went downstairs first but didn’t see Bo Tingyuan in the living room. Uncle Xu said, “The eldest young master went to the small garden to check on the potatoes you and the little young master planted last night.”

Wen Cishu nodded, leisurely walking with his hands behind his back, through the corridor, towards the small garden. The aunties in the house were coming and going, and seeing the sir dressed so elegantly, they couldn’t help but stop and admire him as he walked through the corridor, matching the understated luxury of the Bo Family Mansion’s decor. Each scene was like a movie.

At the end of the corridor, Wen Cishu stood inside the glass window, looking at the tall and upright figure in the small garden. Bo Tingyuan was standing in front of the cute little porcelain pot, looking extremely focused and serious.

Wen Cishu lost himself in the sight of this figure. Little Monkey, even when hit on the head with a small milk pot by big dad, only changed the contact name in his phone; even when often dragged out of the room, he only mumbled and didn’t really hold a grudge against big dad. Perhaps it was because he knew clearly that big dad loved him.

As he was thinking, the man in his line of sight suddenly turned around, and his green eyes looked over from afar. Wen Cishu didn’t have time to look away. In the long silence of a few minutes of eye contact, Wen Cishu had the absurd illusion that Bo Tingyuan was kissing him with his eyes, and he subconsciously tightened his grip on the ring box in his palm.

Suddenly, he remembered some things he had forgotten. During their honeymoon, when they were embracing in the hotel, after Bo Tingyuan took off his glasses, he would kiss him repeatedly and gaze at him with those mysterious, abyss-like green eyes, as if trying to see through his heart and soul.

Without the barrier of lenses, Wen Cishu could clearly see the desire and passion in his eyes. “Where’s Yiming?”

Bo Tingyuan had already walked up to him, casually asking about their son. He had long since taken in his rare, grand, and incredibly handsome attire, not missing the slightly red tips of his ears.

Wen Cishu was stunned, as if the person in front of him and the one from their honeymoon ten years ago had merged into one. He quickly pulled himself out of it, casually pointing, “He’s changing clothes, he’ll be down soon.”

Bo Tingyuan noticed the ring box in his palm and casually asked, “Found the ring?”

Wen Cishu couldn’t help but think: What are you pretending for, in front of someone who’s been married to you for ten years?!

He couldn’t help but reply coolly, “Yes, Uncle Xu found it for me.” He flicked his phoenix eyes, “Remember to give him a bonus next holiday.”

Bo Tingyuan: “Okay, I’ll remember.” He glanced at Wen Cishu’s hands, neither of which had the ring on, indicating it was still in the box. “Not planning to wear it?”

Wen Cishu, while walking inside, gritted his teeth, “Oh, then I’ll immediately go find Uncle Xu to put it on for me…”

Before he could finish, his wrist was grabbed, and he was pulled back. His heart tightened as he looked up into his deep green eyes. Bo Tingyuan’s fingers forcefully opened his palm and took out the ring.

Then, Wen Cishu watched as he lowered his eyes, lifted his hand, and slowly slid the ring onto his ring finger. As the hard metal material was put on bit by bit, there was a slight electric current flowing through his skin.

Wen Cishu’s fingertips curled slightly, held tightly by Bo Tingyuan’s palm. The sound of the little monkey happily looking for dad was already coming from the living room. In the corridor, in the light and shadow, Bo Tingyuan looked at the beautiful man and lowered his voice slightly, “Let’s go.”

Wen Cishu felt like he was being enchanted, following him out…
