The power went out at the training field, and none of the systems could function. The suppressant that was supposed to be injected into the Alpha’s veins at the scheduled time was now useless. The Alpha, tormented beyond measure, had blood dripping from his chafed wrists, and the extreme pain combined with overwhelming desire was burning away his sanity.

Sensing the imminent danger, the Alpha used the last bit of clarity he had left to press the life-saving button.

Then, he ran.

The training field was crowded with a mass of people, each of them frantically busy. No one noticed his abnormality. Dizzy and disoriented, the Alpha could smell the countless pheromones in the air. Since pheromones of the same type repel each other, the violent urges in his blood were triggered, and his aggressive pheromones filled the air, making it almost suffocating.

Under normal circumstances, such a situation would have been noticed immediately, but due to the unexpected power outage, many Alphas had just been pulled out of their extreme states, and their pheromones were completely out of control. So, any abnormalities went largely unnoticed.

The Alpha stumbled through the crowd, the rage and desire in his heart having nowhere to go, and his nose was filled with the nauseating smell of his own kind. His eyes were already bloodshot, but now they were even more inflamed, the redness terrifying.

Just then, a faint scent of roses suddenly drifted into his nose.

It was so light, almost imperceptible. If the Alpha weren’t in such an extreme state, he wouldn’t have been able to catch such a subtle scent.

Following his instincts, he took a deep breath. He looked up in the direction the scent was coming from, and at that moment, an Omega suddenly appeared in his line of sight.

To be honest, he had never seen such a beautiful person in his life. He knew there was an Omega in S District, and he had heard that they were very attractive. However, he was usually so absorbed in training that he had no interest in such gossip and had never seen him before.

Even now, Li Po hadn’t fully raised his guard. He assumed it was just another Alpha trying to mess with him, maybe get a laugh, and didn’t consider that this Alpha might be serious.

He walked forward like a cat, quickly reaching a corner of the corridor. Taking advantage of the distance, Li Po snuck a glance back at the person.

In just one look, his pupils trembled.

Li Po’s face instantly turned pale. The case Bian Lu mentioned, about an Omega being bitten to death by an Alpha, flashed through his mind. He didn’t dare think anymore. He bolted straight away!

Without hesitation, he rushed in and locked the door tightly behind him.

Leaning against the door, he finally let out a breath of relief.

Could someone please tell him how this ridiculous situation had happened? Half an hour ago, he was observing an Alpha through a screen, and now, half an hour later, that same Alpha was chasing him through a door.

This was absurd.

His shaky legs finally found some relief, and Li Po bent down to rub them. But just then, his sixth sense suddenly buzzed with alarm, urging him to run.

Just as he moved away from the door, what seemed like a solid door suddenly cracked with a loud kick, nearly falling off its hinges.

With a loud “bang,” the door frame shattered, and the door came crashing down toward Li Po.

The door wasn’t heavy, so being crushed wasn’t a big deal. But if it slowed him down and let that frenzied Alpha get to him, things would be much worse.

Realizing this, Li Po calmed down instantly. Without hesitation, he sprinted diagonally across the room, not wasting a second.

The door didn’t crush him, but the Alpha was closing in, step by step, until he had Li Po trapped in a corner.

Li Po raised his gaze and looked at the out-of-control Alpha in front of him, his expression oddly relaxed given the situation.

“Why are you chasing me?” He actually had the nerve to ask.

The Alpha stared blankly at the beautiful and composed Omega in front of him, his brain a foggy mess, and all he could blurt out was, “Smell… want…”

What an idiot.

A lust-driven idiot.

Li Po didn’t waste any more words. He only wanted to know if the Alpha had completely lost his mind, and judging by the response, it seemed like his brain had been entirely consumed by lust.

Just as the Alpha was about to take another step forward and close in on him, the Omega suddenly shouted, “Stop!”

The Alpha froze for a moment, but it wasn’t the Omega’s command that stopped him—it was the sight of the Omega’s lips opening and closing.

Maybe it was because of all the running, but the Omega’s lips appeared particularly red, like rose petals, the red spreading in layers.

The Alpha stared at the Omega’s lips, dazedly wondering if he squeezed them, would they bleed like real rose petals?

Taking advantage of the Alpha’s momentary daze, Li Po used his smaller frame to dart past him. The Alpha snapped out of it quickly. With his vast experience in close combat, he spun around almost instantly, reaching out to grab the Omega’s shoulder.

Li Po hated being touched by strangers, especially by someone with bad intentions. His expression darkened as he grabbed the Alpha’s bloody wrist with one hand, then twisted it hard.

The Alpha’s face twisted in pain, turning pale as his strength drained away, his hand trembling in the grip of the seemingly delicate Omega.

The Alpha’s thin, bloodied wrist was exposed in front of him, looking fragile yet surprisingly strong. Li Po held on tightly, refusing to let the Alpha move even an inch closer.

Seeing the Alpha’s strength fade, Li Po released his grip. He tried to avoid touching him as much as possible, but some blood still smeared his palm.

The scent of the Alpha’s pheromones, a sharp mint, wasn’t unpleasant but was so strong it stung his nose. Li Po wrinkled his nose in disgust and quickly made his escape.

But the Alpha wasn’t so easily defeated. Pain was nothing new to a soldier. After a brief pause, he recovered, his desire only heightening as his arousal surged. His vision swam as his overheated brain struggled to focus.

Seeing the Omega getting farther away, the Alpha panicked. His wrist was still too weak, so he lunged forward, hoping to grab Li Po from behind and trap him.

The person on the other end took a deep breath, “Are you okay? Are you hurt?”

“No.”

“Good. Stay away from him. People from White Tower are already on their way and will be there soon.”

After the call ended, Li Po finally let out a sigh of relief. He entered a random room, grabbed a piece of paper, and carefully wiped the blood off his hands until there wasn’t a trace left.

Luckily, Alpha pheromones during heat didn’t trigger Omega heats. He thought to himself how fortunate he was.

The team from White Tower was efficient, quickly locating the Alpha through a holographic projection and rushing in to administer sedatives and inhibitors. The agitated Alpha finally fell into a deep sleep.

Lan Dun, having exhausted quite a bit of his strength, dusted off his clothes and slowly made his way over to Li Po. His blue eyes filled with a bit of grievance as he looked at the Omega, “I’m so tired. Can I borrow your shoulder for a bit?”

Li Po smiled and replied, “There’s a difference between AO, so no, you can’t.”

“…” Lan Dun could only stare, feeling the smile stinging his eyes.

“Oh, by the way,” Li Po remembered something and asked, “How did you find me?”

Lan Dun finally found a chance to vent his emotions, “You have no idea. When I saw you were gone, I was so worried. I pushed past those Alphas, searching room after room. I wanted to flip Training Field No. 3 upside down. I thought you might have gone back, but then I accidentally saw the blood in the corridor. My head exploded. I had a bad feeling, so I kept looking until I followed the blood trail and found you.”

His pale blonde hair was a mess, perched on his head like a bird’s nest, “I almost didn’t make it in time.”

Although Li Po could have handled the situation without him, he was still grateful that Lan Dun had arrived in time.

“Thank you,” he said sincerely.

Lan Dun, with his pale skin, blushed instantly when the Omega thanked him. His ears turned red, which he could hide with his hair, but his face was another story. Right now, he looked unexpectedly shy, nothing like the guy who had earlier been throwing flirty kisses at an Omega. It was hard to believe he was the same person.

“No need to thank me,” he said, turning away to hide his embarrassment.

Li Po clearly noticed the faint redness but only smiled faintly without saying anything further.

“Oh right, were you hurt earlier in the room? Did he do anything to you?” Lan Dun finally remembered to ask the most important question.

Li Po shook his head, “I’m fine.”

“…” The light in Lan Dun’s eyes dimmed completely.

In S District, where communicators were widely used for almost all forms of communication, how could anyone not have one or forget their own number?
