“Damn it, this Omega has a gun!” The man’s wrist was grazed by the bullet. Although it didn’t pierce the flesh, it still bled quite a bit. His heavy rifle fell to the ground as cold sweat covered his face. He stared in the direction of the Omega, his eyes filled with resentment. “What now?”
The man next to him, holding a shotgun, scoffed. “Wow, real impressive. You actually got done in by an Omega.”
“How was I supposed to know he had a gun…” the man muttered, hiding behind his companion. “It’s up to you now.”
As the footsteps drew closer, Li Po’s nerves tightened even further. He gripped his pistol tightly, his mind racing for a solution.
There was only one gun left—what should they do?
The enemy wasn’t stupid. The same tactic wouldn’t work twice, and the man on the left was clearly more cautious. If Li Po showed himself, he’d definitely be riddled with bullets.
More importantly, Li Po’s mental strength was already unstable. After firing two shots, he felt a bit dizzy.
The more he thought about it, the more his dizziness intensified. He shook his head, and out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Yang Guang staring at him, unblinking.
His messy black hair fell into his eyes, blocking his vision. Li Po brushed it aside and looked at Yang Guang curiously. “What is it?”
Noticing that Li Po had finally acknowledged him, Yang Guang’s face flushed red. He quickly looked away, his dimples deepening. “You’re… pretty amazing.”
Li Po paused for a moment. “…Thanks.”
Yang Guang’s face turned even redder. Realizing now wasn’t the time for this, he quickly changed the subject. “What do we do next? As long as they still have weapons, we don’t stand a chance.”
Li Po didn’t answer. Instead, he asked, “How’s your wound? Has the bleeding stopped?”
Yang Guang nodded. He had prepared some hemostatic medicine and bandages in advance, so he had quickly bandaged himself. Although he hadn’t removed the bullet, the bleeding had stopped for now, so there was no immediate danger of blood loss.
On the other side, Di Kai watched them chat, his face darkening like coal. He had spent so much time on the starship talking to Yang Guang, trying to get him on his side against the Omega. But the moment he turned his back, it seemed like Yang Guang’s soul had been hooked by the Omega. What rotten luck.
So what if Li Po fired a shot? Why was everyone acting like he was so great? If Yang Guang had acted as bait for him, Di Kai would’ve done just as well!
As these thoughts festered, a sinister gleam appeared in Di Kai’s beady eyes. His pistol was still fully loaded, and a dark thought crossed his mind: once Li Po ran out of bullets…
Just as he was stewing in his malicious plans, he suddenly heard footsteps. His expression changed immediately—those two were getting closer!
The three of them were hiding behind a dirt mound about half a person’s height, not far from each other. But if the two enemies headed toward Yang Guang and Li Po, Di Kai might have a chance to escape. At this thought, his heart began pounding like a drum, making his hands tremble.
Thirty meters, twenty meters, ten meters…
The man on the left made a gesture, and the other one understood instantly, moving toward the Omega’s position. Meanwhile, he himself headed toward Di Kai’s cover, planning to encircle them from both sides and wipe them out.
Li Po’s ears perked up as he listened intently to the approaching footsteps. His palms were sweaty from gripping the gun, but he forced himself to stay sharp, ready for a sudden attack.
Compared to Li Po, the man seemed much more relaxed. He circled around the cover and suddenly lunged at Li Po’s back!
Li Po’s ears twitched, and he quickly dodged to the side. He raised his gun, ready to pull the trigger, but in that moment, a strong kick knocked the pistol out of his hand. The impact left his hand numb and swollen. The bruises on his hand had only just healed, but now fresh ones appeared, leaving his hand looking like a complete mess.
The gun was kicked about five meters away. Li Po glanced at it but quickly refocused. His back was now exposed to the other man’s gun, so to avoid being shot from behind, he quickly rolled to the other side of the cover, escaping the danger of being caught between two attackers.
The man’s eyes flashed with surprise. No wonder this Omega could enter S District—he had some skills. His bloodied wrist throbbed with pain, and his face darkened as he lunged at the Omega again without hesitation!
The two immediately grappled with each other. The man was an Alpha, and with the natural physical strength difference between an Omega and an Alpha, Li Po felt like his soul was about to leave his body when the man’s punch landed in his abdomen. His vision blurred, but he refused to give up. He gritted his teeth and, with a clenched fist, punched the man hard in the ribs—a solid blow!
He had used eighty percent of his strength in that punch. The man’s body stiffened, his breathing became labored, and the pressure on Li Po lessened slightly. Seizing the moment, Li Po grabbed the man’s still-bleeding wrist and twisted it forcefully—
“Ah…!”
A deep, rough cry of pain escaped the man’s throat. He slammed a fist into the ground and twisted back, but the next moment, Li Po’s wrist emitted a sickening crack.
Cursing inwardly, Li Po quickly bent his knee and delivered a fierce kick to the man’s groin. The man hadn’t expected the move at all. His grip on Li Po’s wrist loosened, and Li Po yanked his arm free.
With a crack, Li Po calmly reset his wrist. Cold sweat dripped from his forehead, running down his cheek, making his face sticky. He had no time to wipe it off, though. He immediately lunged for the gun that had fallen not far away.
But there was no way the man would let him succeed. Fighting through the pain, he stretched out his right foot and kicked the pistol even farther away.
“You can’t beat me. Just give up already.”
“You… bastard…”
Li Po gritted his teeth in frustration. Quick as a flash, he swept his leg toward the man’s lower body with ruthless decisiveness. The man, not having retracted his leg in time, lost his balance and fell to the ground.
In that split second, Li Po pounced, pinning the man down and trying to restrain his movements. The man was strong, and Li Po almost failed to keep him down, even getting punched roughly in the stomach. In just a few seconds, a metallic taste rose in Li Po’s throat, almost forcing him to spit out blood.
Li Po gritted his teeth and held firm. His veins bulged on the back of his hand as he clenched his fist and relentlessly pummeled the man’s stomach with blow after blow. Only when he was completely drained of strength did he finally stop, his chest heaving as he struggled to catch his breath.
Pff—
The man spat out a mouthful of blood, his vision spinning, but still tried to struggle. Li Po wiped the blood from his knuckles, pinning one leg on the man’s stomach and propping himself up with the other as he looked down at him. “Can’t beat you, huh?”
With a slight movement of his fingers, he reached into his combat boot and pulled something out.
A flash of cold steel glinted in the man’s eyes. His pupils shrank as he realized what was happening, and his whole body trembled—
The next moment, a sharp knife plunged heavily toward his chest!
…Unfortunately, it didn’t penetrate.
The man’s bulletproof vest was specially modified, not only bulletproof but also resistant to knives and bayonets. Even though Li Po had used all his strength, he couldn’t pierce the armor.
“Ugh…” Li Po looked a bit awkward as he retracted his hand, clearly displeased.
The man breathed a sigh of relief.
But just as he relaxed, Li Po’s face darkened, and he suddenly raised the knife, stabbing it down hard onto the steel helmet the man was wearing!
The helmet was bulletproof, but it wasn’t as sturdy as the soft armor and couldn’t withstand the force of repeated stabs from cold weapons. Li Po didn’t look the least bit weak or delicate as he aggressively drove the blade into the helmet.
With his mental strength focused on the knife, the blade took on a near-indestructible quality. With a loud crack, the bulletproof helmet split open.
The man’s eyes widened in shock, staring at Li Po like he was a monster. But Li Po didn’t seem to notice. He calmly cut through the man’s protective mask with the knife, then smiled sweetly down at him. “Can’t beat you, huh?”
A chilling glint flashed in his eyes, reflecting the man’s terrified, distorted face. At that moment, Li Po’s Omega instincts kicked in, unleashing an overwhelming wave of aggressive pheromones.
The suffocating pressure of SS-level pheromones was thick and terrifying. Before the man could even comprehend what was happening, blood suddenly gushed from his nose. Soon after, a creeping pain spread through his limbs, and his face turned as white as a sheet. His eyes trembled uncontrollably as he looked at the Omega.
“You…”
Was this really an Omega? He had never seen such a powerful Omega… no, not even such a powerful Alpha!
“What about me?” Li Po tilted his head slightly. He swayed as he stood, then picked up the nearby pistol.
It was a borrowed gun, after all, and he’d need to return it…
That hazy thought crossed his mind as he returned to the man’s side. Pointing the gun’s black muzzle at the man’s temple, he asked gently:
“Have I beaten you now?”
The man’s face instantly turned pale. His lips moved, as if he wanted to say something. But the next moment, when he opened his mouth, all that came out was a mouthful of blood, mixed with fragments of his insides.
“You’re disgusting.”
Li Po wrinkled his brow, pressing the gun harder against the man’s head.
“This time, I’ll let you off. But don’t mess with me again, okay?”
In the next instant, he closed his eyes, his face expressionless as he pulled the trigger.
Bang—
Blood splattered everywhere, and droplets of it hit Li Po’s face, sliding down his cheek. He calmly opened his eyes and wiped at his face. Looking down, he saw his hand was covered in sticky red blood.
His light brown eyes took on a crimson hue as he slowly blinked and muttered softly:
“Disgusting.”
