Chapter 59: Bad Intentions, Trying to Cause Trouble Again! (1/2)
Ye Hanyue panicked. Now that she had lived again, all she wanted was to be with Xie Jibai. Swapping sects with Ye Qingning was also for Xie Jibai’s sake.
But now, because of Ye Qingning’s words, everything she had done before seemed to be in vain!
Ye Hanyue quickened her pace, with tears in her eyes as she grabbed Xie Jibai’s sleeve.
“Junior Brother, what’s wrong with you? You look upset. Did Ye Qingning’s words make you think that I blocked the sword for you intentionally?”
“You mustn’t believe her! Ye Qingning said this on purpose; she just wants to sow discord between us!”
“Whether or not I have the mother bug, I will always protect you, and not let anyone hurt you. This has nothing to do with whether I get hurt. It’s not intentional at all! I just don’t want you to be hurt.”
“After all, I am your senior sister, how can you trust an outsider’s words?” Ye Hanyue spoke with a tone full of grievance, her delicate face almost in tears.
Xie Jibai glanced sideways and lowered his head to look at the slender hand pulling at his sleeve. His gaze darkened slightly.
He didn’t understand why, after just meeting Ye Qingning earlier, he started having strange feelings.
It was as though he had encountered someone in the past who used to always pull at his sleeve like this.
Ye Qingning… Why did her name sound so familiar? Why did he feel like he had met her before, as if he had seen her somewhere?
Xie Jibai raised his hand and pulled his sleeve away, casting a faint glance at Ye Hanyue. Seeing her eyes red and her pitiful look, an inexplicable feeling of irritation arose in his heart.
He didn’t like this feeling of being entangled by someone, and he disliked the way Ye Hanyue was looking at him.
“If you’ve finished, Senior Sister, then go back to the inn and rest. I still need to buy something, so I won’t accompany you to browse around.”
After speaking, Xie Jibai turned and walked off in the distance.
Ye Hanyue felt a sense of panic in her heart and quickly followed after him.
Though she called out “Junior Brother,” Xie Jibai didn’t slow his pace, ignoring her calls completely, which made her even more anxious than before.
After meeting Ye Qingning today, Xie Jibai’s attitude towards her had become ice-cold. Though she was sure Xie Jibai hadn’t been reborn, what if he started to remember things from his previous life?!
In the past, he had given Ye Qingning the position of Sect Madam! What if he remembered it now? What should she do?!
No! She absolutely wouldn’t allow that to happen! She couldn’t let Ye Qingning get close to Xie Jibai again!
The Cloud Mountain Secret Realm—Ye Qingning shouldn’t have come!
It was all because of Yun Mengyao, that useless person! She had asked her to deal with Ye Qingning, but instead of keeping an eye on her, Ye Qingning had been the one to enter the inner sect first.
If it hadn’t been for that, Ye Qingning wouldn’t even have been able to come to the Cloud Mountain Secret Realm, and she wouldn’t have met Xie Jibai. It was all because of those useless people!
In her previous life, Ye Qingning had been the one to find the Thunder Flame Fruit in the Cloud Mountain Secret Realm and thus managed to break through to the Golden Core Stage.
If she could get the Thunder Flame Fruit first, even if she wasn’t a dual spirit root, she could still stop Ye Qingning from breaking through to the Golden Core Stage.
This time, not only did she want to have Xie Jibai, but she also wanted to surpass Ye Qingning! Otherwise, how could there be only her?
…
After Ye Hanyue ran off after Xie Jibai, the crowd of onlookers gradually dispersed. But some still grumbled, discussing among themselves.
Chapter 59: Bad Intentions, Trying to Cause Trouble Again! (2/2)
The system was a bit buggy, and there were no dramatic tasks. If it had been a typical system, it would have already considered getting rid of the “dog lotus” to avoid further trouble.
But, if it were a system, it would be a corrupted one, and it thought that if the time was right, it might as well resolve the “dog lotus” to avoid more trouble.
But the condition was that the parasite on the host had to be dealt with first, otherwise, no matter who hurt the “dog lotus,” it would be the host who suffered.
Ye Qingning saw the worried expressions of Wu Wei and the other two, and she gave a gentle smile.
“I’m fine. Senior Sisters, don’t worry about me.”
Even though she had the parasite, it wouldn’t kill her. Ye Hanyue should just hope that the cure took longer. The injuries she had sustained due to the parasite before, along with the ones caused by the system, would be fully paid back once the parasite was cleared.
“Vendor, how much for this hairpin? You can’t just raise the price because my Senior Sister likes it. With such a big place like Yunhai City, I don’t believe we can’t find a better, more affordable one.”
Ye Qingning asked the price, hoping to divert the attention of her three Senior Sisters. She didn’t want them to keep looking at her with worried eyes.
Wu Wei and the others understood that Ye Qingning didn’t want them to worry, and they quietly thought to themselves that as long as there was a cure for the parasite, the Heavens would definitely protect Ye Qingning.
As her Senior Sisters, they would do everything they could to protect her.
“Yes, my Junior Sister is right. If the price isn’t right for this hairpin, we’ll go somewhere else. Besides, it’s been touched by that annoying Ye Hanyue. I think it’s unlucky now.”
Wu Wei played along, though she secretly liked the hairpin.
First, it was chosen by Ye Qingning, and secondly, it had been taken back from Ye Hanyue’s hands. This hairpin symbolized her victory. As long as she had enough spirit stones, she would definitely buy it!
The vendor had originally hoped to make some extra spirit stones by selling the hairpin, since he had seen that Ye Qingning and her companions were wearing the disciples’ robes of the Penglai Sect. But when he realized they were only bargaining, he figured his chance at a good price was gone.
