Lu Youze wished he could find a hole in the ground and crawl into it. His little thoughts had been discovered, and it was truly embarrassing. But looking at it from another angle, he wasn’t exactly at a loss. After all, he got to see the priceless smile of the great CEO every day—a smile that belonged to him alone. That was worth more than gold; it was his most treasured possession.
After the two of them flirted for a while, Gu Xuanze reposted Lu Youze’s comment and added a message: “I only smile for you.”
Naturally, a whole bunch of single people took massive emotional damage.
Not long after Gu Xuanze’s Weibo post went up, Lu Youze’s phone started ringing.
“Lu Youze, have you had enough?” Gu Xuanhao never imagined he’d one day be annoyed by his own best friend and his older brother being too affectionate. “At home, you two feeding me dog food is one thing, but I can’t even scroll through Weibo without being abused? Can we still be friends? Are you just going to capsize the little boat of our friendship like that?”
Hearing Gu Xuanhao’s roar, Lu Youze laughed even harder.
“Ah Hao, I’m going to be your brother-in-law soon. If the friendship boat flips, so be it.”
Gu Xuanhao cursed under his breath and hung up.
“Ah Hao needs to learn to adapt,” Gu Xuanze said seriously. “Once we live together, he’ll have to get used to it.”
Once Gu Xuanze had everything sorted and arranged, the highly anticipated drama Days of Roaming the Martial World was finally set to start filming. Because of the previous livestream incident, as an apology and a gesture of gratitude to the fans for their support, Gu Corporation decided to hold a small fan meeting before shooting began.
Since it was a small fan meeting, the organizers didn’t do much publicity—just a simple announcement on Weibo with ticket purchasing details. They planned to sell only 5,000 tickets. However, they severely underestimated the enthusiasm and battle power of the fans. The tickets sold out in just half an hour.
Weibo was instantly flooded with cries of despair.
Fans desperately pleaded for Days of Roaming the Martial World organizers to give them a chance to spend money, and related topics shot to the top of the trending list. Many suggested moving the event to a bigger venue to accommodate more people, even if it meant higher ticket prices.
The overwhelming popularity caught even the organizers off guard. The marketing team quickly contacted Gu Xuanze to ask if they should expand the event, but the CEO rejected the idea without hesitation.
“Five thousand is enough,” Gu Xuanze said expressionlessly.
After all, the real priority was the drama’s production. The fan meeting was just a means to maintain buzz, and they couldn’t afford to let it overshadow the main goal. To put it bluntly, the CEO just didn’t want his lover to be overworked.
Since the big boss had spoken, the team happily complied. As for how to appease fans who couldn’t get tickets? That was the PR department’s problem.
The PR team swiftly came up with a solution: the event would be live-streamed in full on Gu Corporation’s streaming platform.
Although only 5,000 people could attend in person, countless fans still showed up outside the venue on the day of the event. They held up light boards, completely surrounding the venue, and the most prominent signs and support items belonged to none other than Lu Youze and Gu Xuanze’s CP fans.
It had been less than a month since the previous launch ceremony, yet Lu Youze’s situation had undergone a dramatic shift. He had gone from being blacklisted by the entire internet to being showered with love. While he had originally been wronged, and even before the controversy was a top-tier actor, this turnaround was also a testament to Gu Corporation’s powerful PR team.
Gu Xuanze personally reviewed and approved the fan meeting’s planning. Normally, such trivial matters wouldn’t require the CEO’s involvement, but he had his own little schemes at play, so of course, he had to oversee everything himself. He was mostly satisfied with the plan, though he added a few extra points before signing off.
Amid fans’ high anticipation and extensive media coverage, the fan meeting finally began. The event followed the usual format, similar to the launch ceremony. First, the actors introduced themselves, followed by a short interview where they discussed their roles in the drama.
Although Lu Youze had been ostracized online for a while after transmigrating into this world, he had been an award-winning actor before that. Handling this kind of event was a breeze for him.
However, as the event progressed, Lu Youze quickly realized that his interactions with Gu Xuanze were way too frequent. Like right now, he was being asked to confess to Gu Xuanze’s character in the drama—as his own character. Throughout the event, every interaction between them seemed to be initiated by him.
Lu Youze immediately understood what was going on. He glanced at Gu Xuanze with a subtle smile, as if to say, I see through your little schemes.
Gu Xuanze froze for a second. Though his face remained expressionless, he awkwardly turned his head to the side.
Too damn cute.
Lu Youze’s smile deepened. After actually dating Gu Xuanze, he realized that his aloof CEO boyfriend was just cold on the surface. Some of his little actions were so adorable that Lu Youze couldn’t resist teasing him.
Lu Youze stood up and walked toward Gu Xuanze. Since this was supposed to be in-character… well, he remembered that the protagonist of the drama often hugged and held onto the second male lead. Naturally, he had to perfectly portray that.
“Hey,” Lu Youze draped an arm around Gu Xuanze’s shoulders. He felt the man stiffen slightly, so he tightened his grip. “Want to roam the world with me? This time, it’ll be just the two of us.”
The protagonist wouldn’t explicitly say words of love, but this was probably his best way of confessing.
Gu Xuanze had initially worried that Lu Youze might be upset upon realizing his little manipulations, and he had been slightly anxious. But as he felt the familiar warmth beside him, he suddenly understood—he no longer had to tiptoe around, fearing that every move he made would lead to rejection. They were lovers now. This man truly liked him.
“…Alright.”
Gu Xuanze’s lips curled into a breathtaking smile as he responded. It wasn’t the reply of the drama’s second lead to the protagonist—it was his reply to Lu Youze.
The cameras captured his smile from every angle, and both the live audience and online viewers collectively lost their minds.
“AHHHHHHHH I CAN’T BELIEVE I LIVED TO SEE GU ZONG SMILE AGAIN. MY LIFE IS COMPLETE.”
“GU ZONG SMILED. MY YOUTH IS OVER.”
“PLEASE JUST GET MARRIED ALREADY.”
“GU-LU DOUBLE ZE IS REAL.”
The venue erupted with deafening screams, and the fans’ enthusiasm was insane.
Gu Xuanze, unfazed, wrapped an arm around Lu Youze’s waist, reclaiming control.
Lu Youze was briefly mesmerized by that smile—his man was so good-looking when he smiled. But then he grew annoyed. Didn’t you say you’d only smile for me?
“Stop smiling.” Lu Youze mouthed the words, glaring at Gu Xuanze.
Gu Xuanze immediately understood. Like a soulless machine, his smile vanished, and he returned to his cold, expressionless CEO persona.
After the interviews, it was time for the most anticipated segment—the games.
Pocky Game was a common CP-building activity in fan meetings, so Lu Youze was prepared for it. However, he never expected that he would actually…
“Can I look forward to the punishment segment?”
“Am I the only one who thinks that President Gu is shy? Even though his expressionless face doesn’t show anything.”
“Look at President Gu’s face and repeat what you just said? Shy? President Gu? I’d rather believe that Qi Yao will propose to me tomorrow.”
“Qi Yao is already in my bed. Do not disturb.”
“It’s starting, it’s starting! The punishment is starting!”
Gu Xuanze was indeed looking forward to the punishment segment. After all, it was something he had casually added while reviewing the planning proposal.
But it wasn’t like he intentionally wanted to lose—he just didn’t want anyone else to see another side of Lu Youze. Maybe even Lu Youze himself hadn’t realized how mesmerizing he looked when being kissed by him.
“Who would’ve thought that the group we thought had the best chance of winning would be the ones to lose?” The host smiled, her excitement stirring up the audience. “Since they lost, of course, they have to go through the punishment round.”
“So, what is our punishment?” The host deliberately teased.
After the audience’s eager shouts reached a peak, she finally revealed, “I heard it’s push-ups!”
Upon hearing “push-ups,” Lu Youze let out a sigh of relief. But after glancing at Gu Xuanze, he had a feeling things wouldn’t be that simple. Meanwhile, the audience looked utterly disappointed—this punishment seemed way too ordinary.
“Did you think it was just regular push-ups?” The host wagged her finger. “Of course not! Now, let me announce the details. One of the two losers will do push-ups while the other must sit on their back. And for each push-up, the one doing it must confess their love! The minimum requirement is ten reps.”
Holy shit! Lu Youze cursed internally, glancing at Gu Xuanze in exasperation. This guy really went all out just to hear him confess!
Since Lu Youze was pregnant, he obviously couldn’t do push-ups. However, despite being an Omega, his physique was better than most Alphas. Sitting on Gu Xuanze’s back would definitely be tough for the CEO.
But as it turned out, Lu Youze’s worries were unnecessary. President Gu never neglected his workouts—he was the classic case of “lean in clothes, muscular underneath.”
The audience absolutely loved this kind of punishment. The number of live viewers skyrocketed, breaking all previous records for the highest simultaneous viewership.
The punishment segment turned out to be highly entertaining. Lu Youze had no problem delivering affectionate confessions one after another, while in the end, it was Gu Xuanze whose face turned a little red—whether from exertion or embarrassment was unclear.
After the last push-up, Lu Youze leaned in and whispered by his ear, “Ah Ze, if you want to hear it, just ask me. No matter how many times, I’ll say it for you.”
The event concluded with laughter and cheers. The fan meeting was a great success, leaving behind countless topics of discussion. Even as the actors returned to their filming schedules, the buzz from the event showed no signs of dying down.
