The earlier incident, where Lu Youze went into heat, felt like experiencing a near-death experience. After catching his breath, he poured himself a glass of water and gulped it down, finally feeling like he was alive again.
Lu Youze felt that, instead of worrying about how to deal with Yu Li, his immediate priority was to find a book like “How to Be a Good Omega” and study it thoroughly.
Once Lu Youze regained his composure, the vanilla-scented pheromones in the room gradually faded. Gu Xuanhao stood outside for a while, making sure the lingering pheromones wouldn’t affect or stimulate him anymore before walking inside.
Outside the window, the sun was slowly setting, casting its afterglow on Lu Youze’s bed. It made this already handsome man look even more melancholic. It also made Gu Xuanhao, who had been fuming and ready to curse, obediently close his mouth.
He had always liked Lu Youze’s handsome, upright face—an Omega with a face more Alpha than most. Of course, he only liked his face, not the person. Who in their right mind would like a fool who had been tricked countless times and ended up like this?
Gu Xuanhao stood there, admiring Lu Youze’s calm face in the sunset glow like he was appreciating a masterpiece.
As a public figure, Lu Youze was used to all kinds of gazes. Being stared at like this didn’t faze him at all. Sometimes, he would even return a standard Lu Youze smile, revealing only eight teeth, as though giving his fans a treat.
Although Gu Xuanhao was staring at his face with a look of admiration, Lu Youze felt no inappropriate intentions from him. He quickly understood that his face was very popular.
Lu Youze, originally not intending to disturb Gu Xuanhao’s appreciation of the view, was now starving after the “torture” earlier. He adjusted his sitting posture slightly and flashed a big smile at Gu Xuanhao.
He couldn’t go out to eat in his current condition, and ordering takeout seemed inconvenient, so the task of filling his stomach would have to fall to his only friend right now.
Before Lu Youze could speak, Gu Xuanhao, looking irritated, said, “Lu Youze, why are you moving around? You looked so good just now. Now you’re ruining the aesthetic, do you know that?”
“I know nothing,” Lu Youze thought to himself, smiling innocently.
“Ah Hao,” Lu Youze called warmly, hugging his thigh as tightly as possible, “Thanks for your help earlier. Even though I don’t remember anything, I still want to say it’s great to have a friend like you.”
After seeing Lu Youze’s attitude toward Yu Li, Gu Xuanhao believed that Lu Youze really had amnesia. As for his friend’s memory loss, Gu Xuanhao actually saw it as a good thing. This way, Lu Youze could forget all those painful memories, and it would be best if he forgot Yu Li completely.
Since Lu Youze had amnesia, Gu Xuanhao suddenly had an idea. His tail wagged behind him as he flashed Lu Youze a mischievous grin.
Lu Youze looked at the mischievous expression on Gu Xuanhao’s face and thought, “This second young master of the Gu family is so innocent, his thoughts are always so transparent.” Due to his profession, Lu Youze was surrounded by people who were very calculating, so he particularly liked simple-minded people like Gu Xuanhao, as it made interactions easy and relaxing.
“Yoze,” Gu Xuanhao walked up to him and gave his shoulder a hearty pat. He then casually sat beside him, pulling him into an embrace. Smiling, he said, “You’re right. We are indeed good buddies! I’m Gu Xuanhao, just search it online and you’ll know I’m not lying. By the way, since you’ve lost your memory, I have some free time. How about I tell you about your past and help you recall your memories?”
Lu Youze originally thought that Gu Xuanhao might be up to something, but this? He probably wanted to add fuel to the fire and badmouth Yu Li while helping him recall the past. Indeed, such an innocent kid. Could it be that his ability to see through Yu Li’s true nature was based on some instinct like a single-celled organism?
Since Gu Xuanhao was willing to provide information, Lu Youze certainly wouldn’t refuse, but right now, the priority was to fill his stomach.
“Ah Hao,” Lu Youze looked at him and deliberately showed an embarrassed expression. “Can we eat first and then talk about the memories?”
“Ah, is it already this late?” Gu Xuanhao checked the time. “What do you want to eat? I’ll have my chef make it for you.”
“No need, just grab something from the cafeteria or a fast food place.”
Lu Youze wasn’t picky about food. When he worked as a background actor, he often ate the crew’s boxed meals. Even after becoming a big star, he still ate boxed meals with the crew. As soon as he finished speaking, he saw Gu Xuanhao staring at him like he was a freak. Lu Youze was confused. Gu Xuanhao’s expression was so exaggerated, as though he had just made a ridiculous comment like destroying the world.
“I’m sure now that you’ve really lost your memory,” Gu Xuanhao nodded, “You would never say something like that normally. Besides that face of yours, everything else about you is pretty annoying. Do you know how picky you were about food before losing your memory? You always wanted high-end ingredients and a famous chef. You wouldn’t even touch fast food, saying you had to give Yu Li the best…”
Realizing that he had inadvertently revealed something Lu Youze shouldn’t know, Gu Xuanhao quickly shut up. “Alright, I’ll go out and see what’s good to eat and bring something back.”
Just as Gu Xuanhao finished speaking, thunder suddenly rumbled outside, followed by a torrential downpour. The summer weather changed in an instant, with the storm catching everyone off guard.
Gu Xuanhao sat back on the bed, took out his phone, and called the butler. “Forget it, I’ll have it delivered.”
At the side door of the hospital, a car had been parked there since Yu Li left in the afternoon. The sudden downpour made the pedestrians hurry along, and no one noticed when a man wearing a cap that covered half his face and holding a large black umbrella got into the car.
The car’s windows were covered with curtains, making it almost impossible to see inside. After getting in, the man removed his cap, and even in the dim light, it was clear that he had a face that could make people scream. This was the same person who had left the hospital earlier—Yu Li.
Yu Li slightly pulled back the curtains. On such a rainy day, no one would notice the car, and he could see through the window to the hospital room. The curtains were open, and he could vaguely see two blurry figures sitting closely together.
“How is it?” Yu Li asked the person in front.
“We took some great photos,” the person in the car replied with a hint of flattery.
Yu Li took the photos, looked at them for a while, and then showed a satisfied expression.
After handing the photos back to the person in the car, he said, “You know what to do, right?”
“Yeah, I know,” the person responded with some worry. “But Gu Xuanhao’s family… I’m afraid not many people in the entertainment industry dare to offend them.”
“You don’t need to worry about that. My goal was never Gu Xuanhao. Their older brother is a smart man—he knows the concept of sacrificing the pawn to save the king. Also, they have no reason to get involved in the mess of an outdated movie emperor. Just do as I say, I’ll take care of the rest.”
“Got it, I’ll go arrange it now.”
