Gu Xuanhao didn’t know whether it was because he was full of energy or because he wanted to “brainwash” Lu Youze as quickly as possible. In any case, after confirming with the doctor that Lu Youze’s body wasn’t in serious condition, he spent the entire night explaining their lost youth and some of his recent troubles to Lu Youze, who had just gone through his heat period. Although he had reasons to suspect that much of the information about Yu Li was exaggerated, it didn’t stop him from absorbing these details. At least they gave him insight into his current social situation.
Gu Xuanhao got more and more excited as he spoke, and didn’t leave the hospital until three or four in the morning. After he left, Lu Youze’s ears were still filled with his passionate voice, which was really giving him a headache. He didn’t appear to be a talkative person at first, but it turned out he was a chatterbox. Lu Youze looked at Gu Xuanhao’s retreating figure and couldn’t help but rub his ears—he was going to be tortured in the future.
However, thanks to Gu Xuanhao, Lu Youze had a bit more understanding of his current situation.
The next morning, Lu Youze was woken up by noise.
A large crowd had gathered outside his hospital room. The hospital security and staff seemed to be “struggling” to prevent the crowd from rushing in, but it was clear that they couldn’t stop them as there were too many people. In no time, the door to the room was pushed open, and the room was suddenly packed with people.
Lu Youze hadn’t rested well, and both his eyes and head were throbbing with pain. Then, various cameras, including video cameras, cameras, and phones, pointed at him. The flashing lights made his eyes hurt even more. Fortunately, his professional training was solid, and no matter the situation, he managed to maintain a perfect smile in front of the cameras. However, the surrounding noise and lack of sleep made his head ache even more. He slapped his head hard, trying to wake himself up while still keeping his perfect smile to prepare for the horde of reporters.
These reporters looked like hungry beasts that had been released from a cage after starving for days, eager to devour him to the bone.
Despite everything, Lu Youze was an experienced veteran in the entertainment industry. He quickly realized that someone had leaked information to these reporters and that they were making a big deal out of yesterday’s events.
He cursed Yu Li from head to toe in his mind, and, to add insult to injury, Gu Xuanhao too. From inducing his heat to making Gu Xuanhao stay, it was all part of Yu Li’s plan. He had indeed underestimated Yu Li.
Right now, Lu Youze had no choice but to respond calmly. After all, he had “amnesia,” so he wasn’t lying.
“Sorry, I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Lu Youze said, showing no fear of the reporters’ aggressive questioning. He was poised and graceful, embodying the perfect image of a movie star. “Actually, when I woke up yesterday, I had amnesia. If you don’t believe me, you can ask my attending physician.”
His words drew a gasp from the crowd.
“Ah, spit!” A nurse dressed as a fan of Yu Li squeezed to the front, looking furious. “You have amnesia? Yet you still have such an entangled relationship with your good brother? You stayed with him until late at night, laughing and hugging? And you kicked Yu Li out of the room? Do you know how painful it was to see him standing at the door, looking at you inside?”
The nurse’s voice grew more agitated as she spoke, as if she could truly feel the pain, “We protect the person we hold dear, not wanting them to be harmed. But you trample on him like this, do you know how heartbroken we are?”
Lu Youze looked at the nurse who seemed about to cry, understanding the fan’s feelings but still feeling wronged. Yu Li probably wasn’t even feeling upset; he might be secretly laughing. Besides, Yu Li didn’t even like him, and if anyone should be crying, it was Lu Youze himself.
The nurse’s words seemed to strike a chord with the other fans of Yu Li present, and soon the crowd was full of curses. Some even started rushing forward. The situation got out of hand, and the hospital security, as if instructed by someone, initially half-heartedly tried to stop them but eventually gave up.
This was bad. Lu Youze cursed in his mind. Even if his physical strength wasn’t weak, he couldn’t resort to violence against fans on camera.
At this moment, four or five fans charged forward, and before Lu Youze could react, a girl around seventeen or eighteen slapped him across the face.
The girl wasn’t tall, but her slap was hard, and it stung painfully. It was Lu Youze’s first time being slapped in his life, aside from acting, and he didn’t feel great about it.
“Fox spirit, bitch, go die.”
The girl’s words were harsh, but Lu Youze wasn’t upset by them. After all, he knew he had kept his integrity. He just thought it was a shame that a young girl was using such foul language.
The scene spiraled further out of control, and just then, a group of people in black suits appeared. These were tall, burly male Alphas, dressed as high-level bodyguards in suits and sunglasses. As soon as they entered, they blocked the reporters and fans, and Lu Youze was finally safe—temporarily.
Then, a man who looked around fifty, with a similar appearance to Lu Youze, walked in. He stood by the bed with a commanding presence. His gaze swept the room before he coldly said, “You think you can barge into a patient’s room and attack them without regard for their wishes? Do you think the Lu family is easy to bully?”
The reporters were about to respond, but they were all ushered out by the bodyguards.
