After leaving the banquet, Gu Xuanze originally planned to head home or go back to the company, but his mood was so bad that he didn’t want to face Ah Hao or work with such feelings. He aimlessly drove around the streets, hoping that the cool wind would help him calm down. Without realizing it, he found himself on an unfamiliar street.

The surroundings were not busy; there were hardly any people on the road, and the streetlights seemed to be malfunctioning, flickering on and off. Gu Xuanze thought to himself that if the company ever decided to invest in a supernatural film, this street would be a perfect filming location.

However, in such a quiet place, there was one spot that seemed out of place—less than ten meters away from him was a bar. It was as if all the people in the street were gathered in that bar, as Gu Xuanze could hear the noise coming from it even from such a distance. The tacky heart-shaped “True Love Above All” sign outside the bar seemed to mock him, someone who had fled the banquet in a panic. He didn’t plan to linger there or go inside; after all, he wasn’t in a state where he needed alcohol to numb himself. But just as he was about to leave, he spotted a familiar figure at the entrance of the bar—Li Yuyu.

Li Yuyu was Yu Li’s personal assistant, responsible for managing the daily life of stars. Personal assistants were usually close to the stars, knowing many of their secrets, and typically, they were trusted people. Given that Yu Li was a popular idol, this was especially true.

It wasn’t strange for adults to visit a bar, and as Yu Li’s assistant, Li Yuyu should have his own private space. What was odd was that he seemed a bit “sneaky,” not looking like someone there to have fun. Moreover, it was said that Yu Li paid him a high salary, enough to make him “serve” Yu Li, so this bar didn’t seem like a place someone like Li Yuyu would go.

Out of curiosity or perhaps rational judgment, Gu Xuanze decided to follow him and see what was going on. He parked his car, took off his expensive suit jacket, and unbuttoned his white shirt before getting out of the car and walking towards the bar.

To be honest, Gu Xuanze was exceptionally good-looking, with a charisma that would attract attention even in a crowd. But thankfully, the bar’s blinding lights helped him enter without drawing too much attention.

Li Yuyu was sitting at the bar, looking nervous, holding a glass of alcohol that he hadn’t drunk from. A few people tried to approach him, but he rejected them all. From Li Yuyu’s appearance, Gu Xuanze was even more certain that he had come to the bar for something other than fun.

Gu Xuanze sat down next to Li Yuyu. Normally, this spot would be easy to notice, but Li Yuyu seemed so anxious, and the bar’s lighting was flashing so intensely that he didn’t notice Gu Xuanze. “I’ve already transferred the money to the account you gave me.” Li Yuyu glanced around. Gu Xuanze quickly turned his head, pretending to strike up a conversation with someone nearby. When Li Yuyu saw that no one was paying attention to him, he leaned in and warned the bartender quietly, “You’d better remember, we’ve never met. If anything goes wrong, you handle it. If you dare say even one word you shouldn’t, you know what’ll happen.”

“I understand.”

Afterwards, it seemed that the two of them talked about something else, but because the music in the bar was too loud, combined with the noisy voices of people around, Gu Xuanze couldn’t hear most of it clearly.
