“Are you going to tell me yourself, or should I find out? Either way, I’m sticking with you.”

I retorted, “Buying tickets requires real-name registration. Aren’t you afraid of being tracked?”

“I’ll just drive behind you,” Wei Heng said smugly, looking like he had everything under control.

He pointed to his custom-made hover bike and said, “This bike can go 30,000 kilometers non-stop. Want to try it out? Maybe I’ll give you a lift.”

“No! Stop following me!” I huffed and walked away quickly.

Wei Heng followed me leisurely on his bike. I thought he was just messing around, but after I boarded the self-driving bus, he was still tailing me.

No matter what I did, I couldn’t shake him off like some stubborn gum stuck to my shoe.

I stuck my head out of the window, and he waved at me with a smug grin. I rubbed my forehead in frustration.

This is bad… I’ve been trapped.

Standing in front of the hotel, we stared each other down. “You should leave. I’m not letting you come upstairs,” I said firmly.

Wei Heng didn’t care, responding casually, “That’s fine, I’ll wait out here. You have to come out sometime.”

I bet he couldn’t last the whole night! In a huff, I turned and walked into the hotel.

After taking a shower, I stood by the window in my pajamas. Under the streetlights, Wei Heng’s shadow stretched long as he leaned against his bike.

I glanced at the clock—it was 11 PM. Let’s see how long he can last.

I turned off the lights and tried to sleep, but I kept tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.

I couldn’t help myself, checking out the window every half hour.

At one point, he had moved from leaning against the bike to lying on it, playing a game on his terminal.

He’s still here? Exasperated, I pulled the curtains shut.

I lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling, wide awake. Suddenly, thunder rumbled outside.

Is it going to rain?

I jumped out of bed, threw on a jacket, and hurriedly ran outside.

When I stepped out, raindrops had already started falling from the sky.

Wei Heng smiled at me, totally unconcerned.

Feeling conflicted, I sighed, “Fine. You can stay for one night, and that’s it.”

Wei Heng nodded eagerly, pushing his bike into the parking lot as I led him inside the hotel.

I pleaded with the front desk, saying he was my friend and asking if we could skip the registration since it was just one night.

The clerk asked Wei Heng for his digital ID, and after confirming his identity, they allowed him to stay.

We would have had to register for a new room, but sharing mine would avoid that hassle.

Wei Heng boldly walked into my room. I gathered all the blankets to make him a bed on the floor.

Seeing this, he clutched his head and said weakly, “I feel dizzy… maybe I hit my head earlier…”

I paused mid-action.

He forced a smile and added, “It’s fine. I can sleep on the floor for just one night. No big deal, the cold won’t affect me much.”

“…”

After saying that, how could I pretend not to notice?

I sighed deeply and pointed to the bed, “You sleep on the bed, and I’ll take the floor.”

Wei Heng firmly objected, “No need for that. We can just share the bed, can’t we? Don’t worry, I promise nothing will happen.”

His words irritated me, making it sound like I was the one being overly cautious, as if I was assuming too much.

I scoffed, “What’s there to worry about? I’m not some omega who can get pregnant from a single touch.”

But the result of my bravado was that I was curled up on the very edge of the bed, my whole body tense.

Facing away from Wei Heng, we both had separate blankets, making sure not to touch each other.

How did things end up like this?

Even now, I felt like I was dreaming. The person I thought I’d never have anything to do with again was now sleeping soundly next to me in the same bed.

I stayed awake until past 2 AM before exhaustion finally overtook me.

That night, I dreamed about taking care of Wei Heng in the past—

In my dream, Wei Heng was unconscious, but his face was flushed unnaturally, and his heart rate was dangerously high under the blanket.

Panicked, I called the doctor for help.

“He’s entering his heat cycle. You’ll have to help him, or his body could be damaged.”

Trembling, I asked, “What should I do? Should I give him suppressants?”

“Suppressants are only a temporary fix. If you force it down, his next heat will be worse. You’re a man too, do I need to spell it out for you?”

As a caregiver, dealing with this was part of the job, though I had avoided it before.

Steeling myself, I ignored my embarrassment and helped him out.

We’re both men, there’s nothing to be shy about!

I mentally prepared myself.

An alpha’s needs really are no joke.

The first time wasn’t too bad, but after that, each time left me drenched in sweat, my hands aching by the end.

One time, I struggled for over an hour without success. Wei Heng was in agony, his blood pressure and heart rate soaring.

Desperate, I swallowed my pride and…

Ahhh! Why was I dreaming about such embarrassing memories?

My consciousness slowly drifted back from the hazy dream world to reality.

I blinked, my eyes stinging as my vision cleared.

I couldn’t believe it—I was staring at Wei Heng’s ridiculously handsome face, mere inches away.

We were under the same blanket, and I was resting on his arm!

It turned out Wei Heng had snuck into my blanket.

I didn’t dare move, slowly trying to inch away.

As soon as I did, Wei Heng frowned and blinked sleepily, slowly opening his eyes.

“You…”

Just as I was about to tell him to move back, he groggily looked at me, hummed softly, and hugged me tighter, burying his face in my neck.

I was mortified, my toes curling in embarrassment.

Wei Heng, like a big dog, clung to me, nuzzling me all over.

Damn it! What are you rubbing against?!

The images from my dream were still fresh in my mind, and now Wei Heng was doing this.

Frustrated and humiliated, I kicked him off the bed.

“Get off!”
