Chapter 111 : Shallow Birthmark
“It’s settled then.”
Fu Sichan made the final decision, and the matter was completely settled.
What Fu Qianxing thought didn’t matter, what mattered was that he didn’t dare to go against his cousin.
Who would have thought that he came just for a family dinner and ended up having his entire winter break scheduled for him!
“What are you standing around for? Do you still want to continue learning at the company next summer?”
Fu Qianxing shook his head vigorously.
“No, no, I won’t be in the country next summer. I won’t trouble you at the company.”
Fu Qianxing found a seat and sat down.
In the past, he would have chosen to sit next to his grandmother.
But now, his grandmother was sitting next to Mu Qianqian.
Ever since learning that Mu Qianqian was his cousin-in-law, Fu Qianxing had completely stopped thinking about her.
Now, every time he saw Mu Qianqian, he would think of his fearsome and cold-blooded cousin!
He was too scared to approach her.
That would be courting death!
Throughout the entire family dinner, Fu Qianxing was anxious and nervous, barely tasting the food.
“Sichan, come with me.”
After dinner, Old Lady Fu called Fu Sichan away.
They went up to a room on the third floor, where the old lady dismissed the servants and sat down in a soft Chinese-style armchair.
“I need to tell you something.”
“Grandmother, what is it?”
“It’s about Qianqian.” Old Lady Fu sighed, “I always felt that Qianqian looked familiar. The other day, when Mrs. Lu came over, she and Qianqian were like two peas in a pod!”
Fu Sichan frowned. “The Lu family, where Lu Yunbei is from?”
“Yes. If there were no blood relation, how could there be two people who look so alike in this world?”
Fu Sichan knew the details about the Lu family.
The Lu family’s biological daughter had been missing for years.
Could it be that Grandmother meant…
“Are you saying that Qianqian is the Lu family’s lost youngest daughter?”
“I’m not sure yet, so I called you to ask. Mrs. Lu told me herself that the Lu family’s daughter has a red butterfly-shaped birthmark on her shoulder. You know best if Qianqian has such a birthmark.”
The old lady didn’t realize that Fu Sichan and Mu Qianqian had never been alone together.
After all, in her eyes, Qianqian was already pregnant.
The things they were supposed to do, they must have done a long time ago.
Fu Sichan’s face froze.
He couldn’t answer this question.
Just as he was about to tell his grandmother about the fake pregnancy, he suddenly remembered something.
Previously, when Mu Qianqian had a fever and he helped her wipe her body, he had seen her back.
The young woman’s back was spotless, and the red birthmark was both beautiful and prominent.
Fu Sichan hesitated for a moment. “Grandmother, Qianqian does have such a birthmark.”
Old Lady Fu sighed. “I had expected as much.”
“It seems that the daughter the Lu family has been searching for all these years is indeed Qianqian.”
Fu Sichan’s eyes were deep and gloomy.
He didn’t expect the little girl to have such a background.
But why on earth would she have ended up in the Mu family from the Lu family?
What had happened in between?
“Sichan, what are you planning to do? Should we tell Qianqian about this now?”
Fu Sichan frowned. “Let her have some more contact with the Lu family first.”
Due to the recent commotion caused by the adopted daughter of the Lu family, Fu Sichan had a poor impression of them. Such a family might very well consume the young girl without leaving a trace if she were to be recognized by them.
“I think so too. We can’t rush things. We need to take it step by step. Let Qianqian spend more time with the Lu family first. Once both sides are familiar with each other, we’ll find a suitable opportunity for them to recognize one another.”
Fu Sichan nodded. “Yes.”
“By the way, Qianxing mentioned going abroad just now, and it reminded me that you have a conference abroad soon, right? It’s just right that Qianqian is on vacation too. You should take her along to the beach for a holiday.”
“I…” Fu Sichan seemed reluctant.
“Grandmother, I’m going for work, not for a vacation. It’s inconvenient to bring her along.”
“Inconvenient? Qianqian is pregnant and needs someone to take care of her.”
“Alright then.”
Fu Sichan, unable to resist his elder’s wishes, had to agree.
“Make sure to accompany Qianqian well. Consider it your honeymoon.”
Old Lady Fu was thinking that once Qianqian returned to the Lu family, they might not agree with her marriage to Sichan.
That’s why she wanted to create opportunities for Fu Sichan and Mu Qianqian to be alone together.
If their relationship deepened, they would be less likely to be torn apart by external forces.
She hoped Sichan would understand her good intentions.
—
Downstairs, Fu Sichan called Mu Qianqian and took her home with him.
Once they left, Fu Qianxing finally relaxed his tense nerves.
Thank goodness, he had survived the day.
It was a miracle.
In the car, Mu Qianqian was secretly rubbing her hands when Fu Sichan noticed.
“What’s wrong with your hands?”
“They’re a bit itchy.”
Mu Qianqian hid her hands in her sleeves and couldn’t help rubbing them again.
Fu Sichan immediately grabbed her wrist.
“Why are your hands so red?”
Her slender fingers were bright red, as if she had an allergy.
Mu Qianqian stammered for a while before answering softly.
“My hands get chilblains every year. They start itching as soon as the weather turns cold.”
And this was just the initial stage.
After a while, her hands would not only turn red and itchy but also swell and form pus-filled sores.
Thinking of that, Mu Qianqian felt a deep sense of inferiority.
Would the Mr. dislike her hands…?
Her hands, used to doing rough work, were not as beautiful as other girls’ delicate and fair hands.
Fu Sichan stared at her hands and asked coldly.
“When is your holiday?”
Mu Qianqian didn’t understand why the Mr. suddenly asked her this.
But she still answered obediently.
“The day after tomorrow.”
“Perfect timing. I’m going abroad, so I’ll take you with me.”
The beach would be warm, and her hands wouldn’t turn red or itch.
Mu Qianqian’s eyes brightened immediately. “Really? That’s great! Mr., you’re so nice.”
She swung her legs and hummed happily all the way home.
Seeing the joy on the young girl’s face, Fu Sichan couldn’t help but smile.
—
Hospital.
Lu Yunxiang was pushing Mrs. Lu, letting her enjoy the sunshine in the private hospital’s garden.
“Mom, Brother is here.”
Lu Yunbei ran over.
Mrs. Lu took out a handkerchief. “Wipe your sweat. What’s got you in such a hurry? You’re all sweaty in this cold winter.”
“Mom, I have something to tell you.”
“Go ahead.”
Lu Yunbei’s heart was pounding. “Mom, don’t be too surprised when you hear it. Take it easy.”
“What’s going on? You’re being so mysterious.”
Lu Yunbei took a deep breath. “Mom, we’ve found our sister.”
