Chapter 15 : Comforting Mr.
Mu Qianqian had recovered from her cold and took off her mask.
Her petite face was adorned with a large pair of black sunglasses, which made her skin appear even whiter and cleaner, with a small, delicate nose and rosy, charming lips.
Dressed in a beautiful, pristine white princess dress, she sat quietly in her seat, bathed in sunlight that seemed to drape her in a soft, ethereal veil.
Her appearance immediately stunned the rest of the class.
“Yesterday, I thought she was unattractive, but she actually looks so beautiful.”
Someone said enviously, “Hmph, she looks good now? If she were really a great beauty, why would she need to wear sunglasses? Maybe her eyes are just squinty.”
Amidst the chatter, someone dropped a bombshell.
“Hey, let me tell you, she’s not a person with connections.”
“How do you know?”
“I saw her application for financial aid, she has three children at home and lives on a tight budget. There’s no way she’s someone with connections.”
“So why has her student status been kept up to now? The school has been unusually lenient with her.”
“Just look at her appearance, and you’ll understand.”
The implication was that Mu Qianqian must have used her looks to attach herself to some influential figure to gain such privileges.
Immediately, people’s opinions about her shifted again.
Originally thought to be someone from a privileged background, it was now suspected that she had gained her status through other means, which was surprising.
Fang Yanran, upon hearing these rumors, couldn’t help but defend Mu Qianqian. “You guys are going too far!”
How could these people slander Mu Qianqian without any evidence?
It was shocking that these students from a prestigious university were behaving even worse than online trolls.
“Oh, so you’re defending her? Could it be that you also want to take the same route to get ahead? Hahaha.”
The leading boy said many vulgar and crude things, prompting a burst of laughter.
“You guys!” Fang Yanran clenched her fists, her eyes turning red with anger.
Mu Qianqian tugged at her arm, “Yanran, let’s just ignore them.”
These people’s malice was unfounded. No matter how much she explained, they wouldn’t listen.
Instead of getting upset, it was better to treat their words as background noise.
“I didn’t expect there would be people like this even in college,” Fang Yanran said, wiping away her tears and sitting back down next to Mu Qianqian.
Mu Qianqian comforted her, “The truth will out, and I don’t care what they say.”
The boy who mocked Mu Qianqian was named Sha Pu.
He came from a family with a bit of money, but they were only a minor family in Bei City. Previously, he had met Lu Yunxiang at a party by chance.
Sha Pu sent a message to Lu Yunxiang “Sis, I’ve followed your instructions and had everyone ostracize Mu Qianqian. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure she withdraws and goes home within three months.”
Lu Yunxiang replied “Well done, increase the efforts.”
Sha Pu: “Got it. I’ll send people to harass her more.”
Lu Yunxiang had felt a strong sense of crisis the first time she saw Mu Qianqian.
She bribed a nurse at the hospital and learned Mu Qianqian’s name and background, including that she was studying at the Financial University, which happened to be the same major and class as one of Lu Yunxiang’s sycophants.
So, Lu Yunxiang approached Sha Pu, using him to spread rumors at school to force Mu Qianqian to withdraw.
Ideally, she wanted Mu Qianqian to return to her small county in the suburbs and marry a poor man, never to be seen in Bei City again.
This way, she could avoid the Lu family finding her.
However, the nurse was wary of the Fu family’s influence and didn’t tell Lu Yunxiang that Mu Qianqian’s hospitalization was arranged by the Fu family. So, Lu Yunxiang didn’t yet know about the connection between Mu Qianqian and the Fu family, otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so blatant.
Sha Pu then sent another message “Sis, I feel like Mu Qianqian looks a bit like you?”
Lu Yunxiang was infuriated by this comment and typed furiously “Do what you’re supposed to do, keep your mouth shut, or don’t blame me for being rude.”
Sha Pu “Yes, yes, sis, I misspoke.”
After finishing her classes, Mu Qianqian stood under a tree with Fang Yanran, waiting.
The setting sun cast a warm glow on her clean dress, resembling a vibrant oil painting.
Many male college students around were secretly watching her.
Fu Sichan approached Mu Qianqian and extended his hand to her, “Let’s go.”
Mu Qianqian smiled gently, “Mr. why are you here again?”
“Just finished up and came to take you home.”
In reality, Fu Sichan still had a pile of important work left unfinished. He had been attending an international conference when his grandmother bombarded him with calls, demanding that he go to the school to pick up his wife.
“You don’t pick up your own wife, but you let someone else pick her up. Is that reasonable?”
“When Qianqian becomes someone else’s wife, you will cry!”
These two statements had driven the CEO out of the company.
When Fu Sichan arrived, he naturally noticed the admiring gazes from the young men around.
He had to admit, the old lady had a keen sense of foresight.
Mu Qianqian had a pure and sweet first-love face, which made those college students look as if they had never seen a woman before, practically ready to pounce on her.
Although Fu Sichan regarded Mu Qianqian as his nominal wife, since she was still on the Fu family’s household register, he couldn’t allow others to covet her.
Fu Sichan held Mu Qianqian’s hand, “Let’s go.”
Mu Qianqian waved goodbye to the dazed Fang Yanran, “Yanran, I’m heading back now. See you tomorrow.”
“See you tomorrow.”
On the way back, Mu Qianqian thought about how Fang Yanran would always be stunned whenever she saw Fu Sichan.
Did Mr. really look that frightening?
He was probably even worse than she imagined “ugly beyond imagination” might be a better description.
She wondered how many cold stares and mocking comments Mr. had endured because of his appearance.
Thinking of this, Mu Qianqian held his warm hand, “Mr. don’t let others’ opinions bother you too much.”
Her seemingly random comment left Fu Sichan puzzled. He raised an eyebrow and asked, “Hmm?”
“No matter how good-looking someone is, outward appearance alone is superficial. Sincerity and kindness in one’s heart are what truly matter in life.”
The young girl wasn’t very good at comforting others, and she had racked her brain to come up with these words.
It turned out that she had been thinking for a while with her head lowered, trying to find a way to comfort him.
A hint of a smile crossed Fu Sichan’s eyes, “You’re right.”
However, the sincerity and kindness she spoke of were qualities he didn’t possess at all.
Mu Qianqian had expected Fu Sichan to take her directly home, but instead, he led her to a car.
This time, she wasn’t getting into an ordinary vehicle, but rather the same luxury car with a nine-figure price tag she had seen before. The difference was immediately noticeable from the seats.
Mu Qianqian tilted her small face up and said with innocent curiosity, “I thought you sold this car.”
“Why would I sell it?”
“To pay for my eye treatment.”
Fu Sichan couldn’t help but chuckle and smirk, “Don’t worry, your husband isn’t poor enough to sell his car for that.”
