Chapter 202 : A Little Misunderstanding
During the days that Lu Yunyao was in the hospital, Fu Sichan set aside all his work to focus on taking care of her.
“Mr, I can take care of myself. Besides, there are servants here, so you don’t need to worry about me. The company needs you more,” she said.
Although Lu Yunyao had faced many hardships since childhood, she remained pure-hearted and kind, always thinking of others before herself.
Her thoughtfulness made Fu Sichan feel a deep pang of regret.
Sometimes, he wished she would be a bit more selfish, caring for herself rather than constantly considering others.
“Don’t worry, the company won’t go bankrupt.”” he said, exasperated.
Lu Yunyao replied softly, “I just don’t want you to get fired from the company.”
Fu Sichan reached out and gently tapped her forehead with his long finger.
“Little girl, stop worrying so much. You’re always concerned about the baby and me, but you never think about yourself.”
Lu Yunyao smiled sweetly. “I have nothing to worry about! I’m doing just fine.”
It was Fu Sichan who hadn’t been to the company for days, and she didn’t want to hold him back from his work.
This girl was so self-sacrificing that Fu Sichan felt helpless.
After two days in the hospital, Lu Yunyao suddenly received a call from Lu Yunbei.
“Yunyao, why haven’t you been going to school these past few days?”
Feeling guilty, she blinked. “I took a leave for some personal matters. Brother, did you need something?”
She hadn’t yet figured out how to tell her family about her pregnancy and hospitalization.
“I went to your school to pick you up, but after two days, I didn’t see you. I called Wanqing, and she said you were hospitalized for surgery? Are you sick?”
Lu Yunbei’s voice was filled with concern.
Lu Yunyao quickly replied, “I’m not sick, I just came in for some nutritional support. Wanqing really should have explained better.”
She had kept in touch with Ye Wanqing, so Wanqing was aware of her recent situation.
But she had only come to the hospital for a little nutritional support, so how did it turn into “hospitalized for surgery” when it reached Wanqing’s ears?
The two situations were worlds apart!
No wonder her brother was so anxious.
Before Lu Yunbei could respond, the phone was snatched away by Lu Feng and Mrs. Lu.
“Yunyao, what’s wrong with your health? Why are you in the hospital?”
Mrs. Lu was equally anxious. “You should have told us about such a big issue…”
She couldn’t help but wipe away her tears halfway through her sentence.
Their family felt the most guilty toward their youngest daughter, Yunyao. If Yunyao’s health deteriorated, Mrs. Lu couldn’t bear the thought of losing her.
This was her flesh and blood! How could she not feel heartbroken?
Lu Yunyao felt a mix of amusement and exasperation. “Dad, Mom, I really am fine! I’m just here for a couple of days of IV therapy to get some vitamins. If you don’t believe me, just ask Brother.”
On the other end, Lu Yunbei spread his hands, indicating it wasn’t his fault.
“I was about to explain when you all snatched the phone away.”
With three people vying for the phone, Lu Yunbei decided to switch to speaker mode so they could all hear Yunyao’s voice.
“We were too anxious. Wanqing only said you were hospitalized, and when I asked her what happened, she wouldn’t say anything. That’s why Mom and Dad were so worried,” he explained.
So that was it.
Lu Yunyao realized she had misjudged Ye Wanqing.
She had told Wanqing that she hadn’t yet shared this with the Lu family, which was why Wanqing had kept it a secret for her.
“I’ll be discharged tomorrow. I’ll come home and explain everything in person,” she promised.
Mrs. Lu asked nervously, “Yunyao, are you really okay?”
Lu Yunyao smiled sweetly. “I’m really fine! You can rela,; it’s actually great news!”
“Great news?”
The three members of the Lu family exchanged puzzled glances.
How could being hospitalized be good news?
Had Yunyao hit her head or something?
But to avoid putting any more pressure on Lu Yunyao, they decided to hold back their curiosity and wait until she was discharged to hear everything in person.
Mrs. Lu asked, “Yunyao, your husband is busy with work, so he might not be able to take care of you these days. Which hospital are you in? Your brother and I can come and take care of you.”
In the minds of the Lu family, Fu Sichan, managing such a large company, must have endless tasks to handle.
They assumed he wouldn’t have time to stay with Yunyao while she was hospitalized.
However, Lu Yunyao surprised them by saying, “No, Mom. Mr has taken several days off and has been with me at the hospital this whole time. You shouldn’t worry about me; you need to take care of your health.”
Mrs. Lu blinked in disbelief.
She couldn’t imagine what she had just heard. “Your husband has been with you in the hospital every day?”
“Yes, he was just peeling fruit for me. He’s probably gone to consult with the doctor right now.”
This news astonished Mrs. Lu, and it equally surprised Lu Feng and Lu Yunbei.
Fu Sichan was neglecting so many important matters at the company to stay by his daughter/sister’s side and take care of her.
What a great son-in-law/brother-in-law!
It seemed Fu Sichan’s feelings for Yunyao ran deeper than they had imagined.
Mrs. Lu was so pleased she couldn’t stop smiling, repeating “not bad” three times.
“Yunyao, when you come home, I’ll have the kitchen prepare all your favorite dishes.”
“I’ll come by tomorrow afternoon.”
Lu Yunbei awkwardly asked, “Is Fu… brother-in-law coming too?”
He simply couldn’t bring himself to say Fu Sichan’s name.
After years of referring to him as “Mr. Fu” or “Young Master Fu,” it felt strange to call him by his first name.
After all, their social circle in Beishi had always regarded Fu Sichan as a lofty figure, almost like a god.
If he was a god, how could they just call him by his name?
Lu Yunyao didn’t pick up on his awkwardness and thought for a moment before saying, “I’ll ask Mr. when he gets back.”
Just then, the door to the hospital room was pushed open from the outside.
“Mr?” Lu Yunyao tentatively called out.
“On a call?”
Hearing that familiar deep voice, she felt a wave of relief wash over her.
“I’m on the phone with Dad, Mom, and Brother. I want to go home the day after tomorrow for a family dinner. Mr, do you have time to come with me?”
Fu Sichan initially wanted to refuse.
He had a lot of work piling up at the company, and once Lu Yunyao was discharged, he would need to hurry back to handle it.
But seeing the anticipation in her eyes, he couldn’t bring himself to say no.
Since they had gotten their marriage certificate, he had rarely accompanied Yunyao back to her family’s home.
As her husband, it felt somewhat irresponsible not to do so.
Thinking of this, Fu Sichan replied, “I’ll go with you.”
As for the important meeting he had just promised Assistant Wang, he would have to postpone it by another day.
Hearing his answer, a sweet smile spread across Lu Yunyao’s face.
“Mom, Dad, Brother, I’ll be going home the day after tomorrow with Mr!”
