Chapter 205 : Evil Will Be Rewarded

Lu Yunyao had originally planned to stay at home for two or three days.

She looked at her Mr. and asked, “Mr, we’re not leaving tonight, right?”

Fu Sichan wiped the soup stains from the corner of her mouth with a napkin.

“It’s getting late, so I won’t make you go through the trouble. We’ll stay at the Lu family for the night.”

Hearing this, Lu Yunyao smiled happily.

Just as they stepped out of the guest room and were about to head upstairs, they heard loud shouting coming from the living room.

A little boy was running around the living room, wearing shoes and playing with a model airplane on the sofa.

“Young Master, please come down quickly or take off your shoes, otherwise the sofa will be dirty.”

Wang Tianci made a face, “Lululu, I won’t take it off, I won’t take it off! You ugly freak, why do you care about me!”

The old woman was not angry at all when she saw her grandson being so naughty. Instead, her face was full of pride and joy.

“Little boys need to be more lively.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Wang Tianci knocked over several glasses, making crackling noises for a long time.

The old woman smiled and said, “All is well, all is well.”

Mrs. Lu looked at this naughty child and her forehead throbbed with pain.

Sitting in her armchair, the old lady gazed at the Lu family’s lavish villa, feeling deeply distressed.

How could such wealth and prosperity be enjoyed by a money-losing girl? This should all belong to her son and grandson!

The old lady became more and more agitated.

Her brother-in-law and sister-in-law were trying to calm her down, saying, “Mom, don’t be angry. It’s late, where could you go? If something happens, won’t it make it hard for your daughter and son-in-law? You’d make them feel guilty for a lifetime!”

As they spoke, the couple occasionally glanced at the Lu couple, hinting heavily.

“Yes, Mom, just stay here. This is your daughter’s house, it’s your home. You can stay as long as you like. How could your daughter, so filial, possibly kick you out?”

Gradually, the old lady’s anger subsided, and she snorted, “The grace of parents is greater than heaven! If you forget your parents’ kindness, what’s the difference between you and an animal?”

Seeing this scene, Mrs. Lu felt a complex mix of emotions.

The three of them were enjoying themselves, while she felt like an outsider.

Lu Feng comforted her by patting her shoulder, telling her not to overthink it.

Mrs. Lu quickly calmed down.

Even though her mother and brother treated her like an outsider, fortunately, she was lucky to have married a man who loved her deeply and had two wonderful, understanding children.

One shouldn’t be too greedy, wanting everything.

The old woman drooped her eyelids. “She’s just a delicate person, like she’s never had a baby. I don’t think she’s pregnant yet, so why is she vomiting like this? I’m afraid she’s faking.”

Mrs. Lu’s face looked a little ugly, and she couldn’t help but talk back to her.

“Everyone’s physique is different, there’s nothing to say about that.”

“Is she pregnant with a boy or a girl?” the old woman asked again.

Madam Lu and Lu Feng looked at each other and said, “How would we know? Besides, wouldn’t it hurt the same whether it’s a boy or a girl?”

Does it really matter whether the child is a boy or a girl?

The old woman looked at her with disdain and said, “You are so short-sighted. Of course, men and women are different. If she can give birth to a son as her first child, her in-laws will naturally look at her with higher regard. If she gives birth to a daughter as her first child, will her in-laws be willing? She will have to keep giving birth and continue to suffer until she has a son!”

“A son is the root of a family! What’s the point of having a girl? Give her away as soon as possible!”

Mrs. Lu was so angry that her chest felt heavy, as if a huge stone was blocking her heart.

Lu Feng quickly helped her out of the living room.

“Don’t pay attention to the old man’s traditional ideas.”

Mrs. Lu shook her head with a sad look in her eyes. “I’m not upset about what she said. I’m thinking about my sister…”

“You have a sister? Aren’t there just you and your brother-in-law in your family?”

“In fact, I have two younger sisters, but my family couldn’t afford to support them, so they were given away.”

Back then, when the family was poor, they couldn’t afford to raise many children, so they would give one away for each they had until a boy was born.

She was six or seven at the time and could help with chores, which is why she wasn’t sent away.

Lu Feng felt a deep sense of reflection.

He hadn’t realized how serious the old lady’s preference for sons was.

As they were about to head back upstairs, they suddenly heard a scream from the living room.

“Ouch! Who’s the bastard? Didn’t you know there are glass shards on the floor? I cut myself, ouch—”

Mrs. Lu couldn’t help but worry and wanted to check the living room.

Lu Feng stopped her. “Don’t go back. If something really happened, the servants will tell us.”

With heavy hearts, they went upstairs.

After they left, something indeed happened in the living room

The old lady accidentally tripped and landed right on some glass shards with one hand.

She cursed for a while before remembering that the glass cup had been knocked over by her precious grandson.

Her expression shifted from green to pale, and in the end, she grudgingly shut her mouth.

Though she couldn’t take her anger out on her grandson, the servants were still around.

The old lady quickly found a target for her frustration and shouted, hands on her hips 

“What are you people doing? Are you just sitting around? Don’t you know to clean up the glass shards on the floor? Do you want to kill me? Hurry up and clear those shards away! If you leave even one piece behind, you’ll have to walk barefoot on the ground until it’s spotless!”
