The Billionaire’s Blind Bride Chapter 33

Chapter 33 : Sweet Cake

The next day, Aunt Liu made a big pot of red date soy milk.

Mu Qianqian gulped down a large cup, saying, “Aunt Liu, just make regular breakfast in the future. No need to specifically prepare soy milk for me.”

After Mr.’s said those words yesterday, she started to let it go

There was no need to force herself to pursue a perfect figure; she would let things take their natural course.

Fu Sichan, who was reading a magazine, looked up when he heard her and smiled with satisfaction.

The little crybaby had grown up in a difficult environment, often lacking confidence and seeking to please others.

Once she had some time to adjust, and didn’t feel as inferior as she once did, she wouldn’t let others’ comments make her doubt herself.

Mu Qianqian grabbed her thermos and waved at Fu Sichan, “Mr. I’m off to class. See you later.”

Fu Sichan responded with a cool “Hmm,” watching as she skipped out the door.

In the classroom, as soon as Fu Qianxing saw Mu Qianqian, he greeted her, “Classmate Mu.”

Mu Qianqian sat down next to her roommate, “Thank you for introducing me to the job, but I won’t be going there anymore.”

“Why not? Is it because of that troublemaker woman from last time? Don’t worry, she’s still in detention,” Fu Qianxing said.

He had already heard about the incident at the coffee shop.

It was outrageous that someone would try to strip people on the street, Gu Qingyu was completely insane.

Mu Qianqian replied, “She’ll be released sooner or later. I’m worried that staying at the coffee shop might cause trouble for the shop owner.”

Fu Qianxing felt that Mu Qianqian was genuinely kind-hearted compared to Gu Qingyu.

Compared to Gu Qingyu, Mu Qianqian was like a little angel.

“That’s fine, then. I can help you find another job.”

Mu Qianqian shook her head, “Thank you for your kindness, but I’ve already found a new job.”

Fu Qianxing thought it was just an excuse to refuse his help, “I can find you a job with a higher salary than before.”

After all, in his eyes, given that Mu Qianqian was blind, what kind of good job could she find?

She was probably just making excuses to reject his offer.

Mu Qianqian waved her hands, “Really, it’s not necessary.”

The teacher walked into the classroom, so Fu Qianxing had to give up for now.

After class, Mu Qianqian went to the coffee shop to inform the owner that she would no longer be coming.

The owner was a bit reluctant, “Although I like you, I respect your choice. Here’s your salary, I’ve transferred it to your phone.”

“Thank you, Manager.”

Mu Qianqian was overjoyed to receive her first paycheck.

As she was heading home, she happened to pass by a cake shop.

Throughout her life, Mu Qianqian had never celebrated her own birthday. However, every year, her brothers’ birthdays were celebrated with cakes bought by her parents.

The cakes were always shared among her parents and brothers, leaving only crumbs from the cake trays for Mu Qianqian.

She had once secretly licked a bit of cream from the leftover cake tray.

The sweet taste was something she could never forget.

With that thought in mind, Mu Qianqian found herself inexplicably pushing open the door to the cake shop.

A shop assistant greeted her, “Hello, what kind of cake are you looking for?”

It was Mu Qianqian’s first time buying a cake, and she felt a bit shy. “I’d like a smaller one. Do you have strawberry flavor?”

“How many people will be eating?”

“Two.”

The shop assistant, with a friendly demeanor, said, “For two people, I’d recommend a four-inch cake. However, the price difference between four-inch and six-inch cakes isn’t much, and the six-inch one is more cost-effective.”

Mu Qianqian inquired about the prices: the four-inch cake was 138, and the six-inch was 168. The difference wasn’t significant.

“I’ll take the six-inch,” she decided.

The shop assistant recommended a strawberry mousse cake, claiming it was the shop’s best seller.

She packaged the cake and handed it to Mu Qianqian.

Mu Qianqian thanked her softly, “Thank you.”

With the cake in hand, her spirits were high.

However, as she crossed the street, a delivery rider, rushing to meet a deadline, ran a red light and collided with Mu Qianqian.

She was knocked to the ground by the electric bike, and the cake she was carrying flew out of her hands, landing in a messy ruin.

“Watch where you’re going!” the rider shouted unreasonably.

He righted his bike and, seeing Mu Qianqian’s sunglasses on the ground, spat on the ground and muttered, “Tsk, just a blind person. How unlucky.”

This scene was seen by someone in a car nearby.

The driver glanced out the window, “Hey, isn’t that Miss Mu?”

Fu Sichan, who was on a call, also looked out the window and saw Mu Qianqian being mistreated.

The young woman was on the ground, nervously clutching her white cane.

She tried to reach for the scattered cake, but it had been flung too far for her to retrieve.

Fu Sichan’s expression darkened instantly. He ended the call quickly and stepped out of the car.

Assistant Wang, sitting in the passenger seat, promptly followed suit.

Fu Sichan strode over, helping the fallen girl up, “Are you hurt anywhere?”

Mu Qianqian shook her head, tearfully saying, “I’m fine, but my cake…”

This was her first time buying a cake for herself.

She had looked forward to it all the way, and now it had been ruined.

Fu Sichan glanced at the broken cake on the ground and reassured her, “Don’t worry, the cake is fine, it’s not completely ruined.”

He signaled to his assistant to quickly buy an identical replacement.

Assistant Wang understood immediately, took a photo, and set off down the street to find a cake shop.

Seeing that Mu Qianqian had someone to protect her, and noting the man’s distinguished appearance, the delivery rider realized he was dealing with someone beyond his league.

He didn’t dare to act arrogantly any longer and quickly rode off on his electric bike.

Some people are used to bullying the weak and fearing the strong. They thought Mu Qianqian, a blind girl, would be an easy target but didn’t expect to encounter resistance.

Fu Sichan lifted Mu Qianqian into the car and instructed the driver to take her to the hospital.

Mu Qianqian tugged at his sleeve, “It’s not necessary, I’m fine.”

Fu Sichan’s tone was firm, “We must go for an examination. Sometimes, just because you don’t feel pain, it doesn’t mean there are no injuries.”

Unable to argue, Mu Qianqian allowed him to take her to the hospital again.

After a series of tests, the good news was that Mu Qianqian only had some minor external injuries and no internal damage.

Fu Sichan breathed a sigh of relief.

He made a phone call to find out which platform the delivery rider was associated with and his employee ID.

The platform happened to have a partnership with the Fu Group, and upon learning the details, they quickly took action.

The rider was fired from the platform, and other platforms would blacklist him to prevent him from causing more traffic accidents by running red lights.

When they returned home, Mu Qianqian didn’t forget to bring the shattered cake from the car’s back seat.

She could only see the transparent outer shell but couldn’t see the cake inside, which was already ruined. She thought the cake was, as Fu Sichan said, not damaged.

Fu Sichan held her hand firmly, calmly saying, “Let me handle it.”

“Thank you, Mr.” she said with a bright smile.

Fu Sichan went to the back of the car, and Assistant Wang arrived with a new cake that was identical to the original.

Fu Sichan exchanged the ruined cake for the new one with Assistant Wang and then took Mu Qianqian’s hand as they entered the elevator.
