Chapter 36 : Mr.’s Concern
Mu Qianqian forced a smile through her tears and said, “Everyone, please follow me.”
The red bills on the floor remained untouched, ignored by everyone.
President Zhu sneered, “Why pretend to be so principled? I bet she’ll definitely pick up that money later. Do you believe it? I’ve seen plenty of poor people with no backbone.”
Tears welled up in Mu Qianqian’s eyes, but she struggled not to cry out loud on the spot.
She led everyone to the exhibition hall, forcing a smile as she introduced each exhibit.
During this time, President Zhu treated Mu Qianqian like a servant, asking her to fetch tea or pour water at intervals.
Others could no longer bear it. “President Zhu, we should have some gentleman manners. Don’t be so harsh on a young girl.”
“Yes, President Zhu, just let her go. It’s better than having her be an eyesore in front of us.”
“We’ll be discussing work matters later. It’s not appropriate to have an outsider present.”
After being persuaded by everyone, President Zhu disdainfully waved his hand. “What are you standing there for? Hurry up and get lost! Waiting for me to kick you out?”
As soon as Mu Qianqian turned away, tears started to well up in her eyes.
She fled the exhibition hall and hid in the lounge, crying in secret.
Accompanying Fu Sihan today is another assistant, Xiao.
He pretended to casually pass by the lounge and heard the faint sound of crying inside. He reported it honestly to Fu Sichan.
Fu Sichan’s expression turned cold, and his aura seemed almost tangible with murderous intent.
Meanwhile, President Zhu continued to unabashedly voice his prejudices.
“Just wait, that woman will definitely go back to pick up the money I threw away. Hahahaha.”
“People like her will do anything for money.”
“To us, women are just playthings. Why treat them too well? It only makes them get above themselves and think they’re something special.”
Fu Sichan slammed his teacup down heavily.
Instantly, all sounds in the exhibition hall ceased, and even President Zhu obediently fell silent.
It was no joke he dared to mock those he deemed “inferior,” but in Fu Sichan’s eyes, he himself was merely an “ant” that could be crushed at any moment.
President Zhu had deliberately made those remarks earlier because he had heard about Fu Sichan’s disinterest in women and was trying to belittle women in hopes of gaining Fu Sichan’s favor.
He hoped that by doing so, he might earn a place in the upper echelons of society.
But little did he know, his flattery had missed the mark entirely.
Fu Sichan’s lips curled into a faint, cold smile. “Zhu Demei, if I’m not mistaken, don’t you have an elderly mother at home?”
President Zhu’s face turned crimson with embarrassment, and he quickly stood up from his seat. “Yes, yes, Mr. Fu, I’m surprised you remember my family matters. I’m truly honored.”
Fu Sichan’s tone was icy, with an undercurrent of menace. “Do you also talk about women as mere playthings in front of your mother?”
President Zhu felt as though a bucket of cold water had been thrown over him, stunned into silence.
His fleshy face quivered, and his lips trembled as he stammered, “I—I…”
Several executives who were usually close to Fu Sichan revealed enigmatic smiles.
They all knew that Fu Sichan valued the people around him highly, seeing them as his inviolable bottom line.
Who isn’t connected to someone? Who doesn’t have female relatives?
President Zhu’s comments were indeed disgusting, and it was no surprise Fu Sichan was angry.
“Who brought Zhu Demei here?” Fu Sichan lightly tapped the surface of the wooden desk twice.
A thin CEO stood up with an apologetic expression. “Mr. Fu… He’s a distant relative of mine. He begged me to bring him to see the world. I couldn’t refuse his request, so I brought him along.”
Fu Sichan casually pronounced his fate. “Your company is too small and lacks sufficient funds. You will no longer need to attend future discussions on new energy.”
The thin CEO pleaded urgently, “Mr. Fu, please give me another chance. I’ve already brought in the investment. If you kick me out now, I won’t be able to explain it to the investors.”
Such a huge opportunity could bring countless profits, and naturally, he wanted a share.
But because of Zhu Demei’s foolish words, he was directly kicked out!
Not only would he lose out on enormous profits, but he might also anger the investors and potentially jeopardize his entire company!
Fu Sichan didn’t even glance up. “How you explain it is your own business.”
“Mr. Fu, Mr. Fu, please have mercy!”
Fu Sichan coldly instructed, “Someone, come here.”
The entire Yun Cheng Hotel was a property of the Fu family, so everyone naturally followed Fu Sichan’s orders.
The security personnel opened the golden doors and expelled the thin CEO and his relative, Zhu Demei, from the venue.
The exhibition hall became noticeably quieter.
Fu Sichan coldly announced, “The meeting will continue.”
The others fell silent, their spirits at their highest, fearing they might be kicked out as well.
The most important lesson when being around someone like Fu Sichan was to, keep quiet and not say what shouldn’t be said.
After being thrown out of Yun Cheng Hotel, the thin CEO, ignoring his image, kicked Zhu Demei.
“Is your brain made of pig brains? Why did you have to provoke that living hell? If you’re tired of living, don’t drag me down with you!”
His company was only second-rate in Bei City, barely squeezing into the upper circle and not yet firmly established.
Because of this Zhu relative, everything he had worked for all these years was ruined, all gone, completely finished!
Zhu Demei, fuming, replied, “What are you afraid of? If they don’t want us, then so be it. We can live off our old assets.”
“Are you going to keep running your company peacefully after provoking Mr. Fu?”
“So what? If necessary, we’ll move the company to another city. No matter how long his reach is, he can’t extend it out of Bei City to control me.”
Zhu Demei was not familiar with the industry and had no understanding of the Fu Group’s standing in the business world.
He also didn’t understand Fu Sichan’s ruthless methods.
The thin CEO was too annoyed to talk further. “You’ve brought this on yourself. Don’t drag me into it.”
He needed to find a way to mend the situation and see if he could calm Fu Sichan’s anger.
As long as he stayed close to these top families, even a little benefit would be enough to last a lifetime.
It’s obvious what choice anyone would make.
Only someone as foolish as Zhu Demei would think that business rivalries are as simple as playing house.
Mu Qianqian was crying in the lounge when suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
She wiped her tears and opened the door.
Standing outside was Assistant Xiao, who worked for Fu Sichan.
“You must be Miss Mu, right? These are some desserts our boss asked me to bring. He said not to let the words of those insignificant people upset you, and certainly not to let their foolish remarks get to you.”
