Chapter 54 : Drunk
When school was about to end, Mu Qianqian received a call from Fu Sichan.
The moment she answered, she couldn’t help but share her good news.
“Mr. thanks to you, I got the only perfect score on this exam! Both the teacher and my classmates praised me.”
The young girl was so excited that her tone couldn’t hide a hint of pride.
Fu Sichan raised an eyebrow slightly. “Is a perfect score really worth such excitement?”
“Of course! This is the first perfect score Professor Chen has ever given since he started teaching! Am I impressive or what?”
Fu Sichan was somewhat familiar with Professor Chen from the Finance University. Previously, Fu’s Corporation had invited Professor Chen as a consultant for financial strategies.
“Not bad.”
Fu Sichan’s lips curled into a slight smile.
“I’m almost done with school. Mr. are you coming to pick me up?”
“I’m tied up at the moment. I’ll have Assistant Wang pick you up. Same place as usual.”
Mu Qianqian responded with a disappointed “oh.”
Fu Sichan detected her small hint of disappointment. “What’s wrong? Not happy?”
“No, it’s just that I’m so happy today and couldn’t wait to share it with you.”
So Mu Qianqian had been hoping Mr. would finish work early and come to pick her up himself.
Fu Sichan considered for a moment, then said, “I’ll come pick you up myself.”
“Ah? But won’t that affect your work?”
“It won’t. Don’t worry.”
Fu Sichan called his secretary. “Postpone tonight’s meeting with General Manager Ma.”
“Ah? But Mr. Fu, this meeting is very important for the corporation. It could affect our deep cooperation with the other company.”
The secretary explained the significance of the meeting in detail but was met with only two words in response.
Fu Sichan said coldly, “Postpone it.”
Outside the CEO’s office, several senior executives from the corporation were standing.
“Mr. Fu should be in a good mood now, right? I plan to take my proposal in to get his approval.”
“I just heard Assistant Wang say that Mr. Fu’s mood is much better than in the morning.”
“It’s strange. Lately, Assistant Wang has been acting mysteriously and running around. What secret task has Mr. Fu assigned him?”
At that moment, the CEO’s office door opened from the inside.
Fu Sichan strode out, exuding the oppressive aura of someone in a high position.
Everyone outside immediately fell silent, not daring to utter a word.
Only after Fu Sichan left the company did they dare to whisper among themselves.
“Mr. Fu, do you have any more appointments today? When will you be back?”
The secretary replied, “Mr. Fu has already finished work for the day. If you have any matters, please come back tomorrow.”
“But there was a meeting with General Manager Ma tonight. Why did Mr. Fu leave so early?”
The secretary shrugged, “I’m not sure about that.”
The executives had no choice but to head back and report to Mr. Fu the next day.
“It must be something urgent at home otherwise, Mr. Fu wouldn’t have left so abruptly.”
This explanation was unanimously accepted.
No one could have imagined that Mr. Fu, who was usually so dedicated to his work, would leave everything behind and rush home to celebrate his little wife’s perfect score.
—
Fu Sichan’s figure appeared at the school gate.
Fang Yanran was stunned once again, taking several seconds to come back to her senses.
“Qianqian, your family is here to pick you up.”
“Qianqian.” Fu Sichan stood in front of her.
Mu Qianqian heard his familiar, magnetic voice and threw herself forward into his arms.
“Mr. you really came.”
Mu Qianqian’s heart was filled with surprise.
She hadn’t expected that such a small matter would be taken so seriously by Mr.
He had actually canceled work and rushed back from the company just to pick her up.
Mu Qianqian had grown accustomed to being ignored and neglected.
No one had ever paid as much attention to her as Mr. did, taking every little thing she mentioned to heart.
Fu Sichan’s lips curled up, and his usually stern face softened with a touch of tenderness.
“I promised you something, how could I break my promise?”
Mu Qianqian suddenly remembered that there were others around.
She shyly looked up from Mr.’s embrace and said to Fang Yanran, “Yanran, I’m going home now. See you later.”
“Goodbye.”
Mu Qianqian took Fu Sichan’s hand and bounced happily towards home.
Fu Sichan glanced at her, seeing the joy written all over her bright face, her rosy lips curving up.
Still a child, so happy just for getting a perfect score.
In the evening, Mu Qianqian tugged at Fu Sichan’s sleeve.
“Mr. let’s have a drink to celebrate!”
Fu Sichan’s face darkened as he said without hesitation, “No.”
“Why not?”
“You’re too young to be drinking alcohol.”
Mu Qianqian pouted unhappily, clinging to his arm and begging.
“I’m already of legal marriage age, so why can’t I drink? Just a little, only a little bit, is that alright?”
She had often seen on television people toasting and celebrating happy occasions.
She wanted to try it too.
Her voice was soft and coaxing, like a little kitten, who could resist?
Even Fu Sichan, usually so unyielding, sighed in resignation and chose to give in.
“Only a small glass.”
“Okay.” Mu Qianqian replied sweetly.
Fu Sichan made a call and had a bottle of the world’s top Romanee-Conti red wine delivered.
As soon as the wine was opened, Mu Qianqian inhaled its rich, deep grape aroma, which made her crave it even more.
“Drink slowly, this wine is very strong and has a lasting aftertaste.”
“Mm.”
Mu Qianqian picked up the wine glass and gently swirled it, just like she had seen on TV, releasing more of its rich fragrance.
She took a small sip, and the complex, rich taste of the wine left her deeply impressed.
“Do you like it?”
Mu Qianqian closed her eyes and nodded, “Mm.”
The young girl’s lips were stained with the vibrant red wine, giving her an alluring, tempting color.
Fu Sichan’s gaze was drawn to her lips, and he suddenly felt parched and restless.
A familiar, yet not entirely welcome, impulse stirred within him.
Fu Sichan’s eyes darkened as he downed the entire glass of red wine in one gulp, struggling to suppress his unwanted thoughts.
Mu Qianqian, having had only a small amount of wine for the first time, already felt light-headed.
“What’s happening? Is the ground made of cotton? Why does it feel so soft?”
She wobbled to her feet, but after taking just a couple of steps, she fell into Fu Sichan’s arms.
Mu Qianqian tried to stand up from his embrace but found herself too drunk and weak to muster any strength.
Her repeated movements inadvertently stirred others’ emotions.
Fu Sichan’s strong arm held her tightly, his voice rough and suppressing a dangerous edge.
“Stop moving.”
But a drunk girl rarely behaves obediently.
The more he told her not to move, the more Mu Qianqian struggled in his arms.
She whimpered softly, her sounds innocently seductive to anyone who heard them.
Fu Sichan’s breath grew heavier.
His gaze darkened as he forcefully held her chin.
“Little girl, if you keep teasing me like this, don’t blame me if…”
