Chapter 66 : Touching the Face
In the evening, Mu Qianqian sat at the table, keeping accounts.
She had spent a lot of money at the supermarket today, and also on the plush toy that the Mr. bought for her, which cost over five thousand yuan.
After finishing her bookkeeping, Mu Qianqian turned on the beige desk lamp, lay down on the bed, and stared blankly.
Today… she had gotten carried away in a moment of excitement and boldly kissed the Mr.’s cheek.
Oh my goodness!
She had never even dared to imagine doing such a thing before, she had actually taken the initiative to kiss a man’s face.
However, the Mr.’s skin was really smooth and delicate, not at all like the “surface of the moon” he had described.
“Mu Qianqian.”
There was a knock on the bedroom door.
Mu Qianqian put on her plush slippers and ran to open it.
The tall, upright man was standing at the door of the guest room, handing her a glass.
“You haven’t drunk your milk yet.”
“Oh, I forgot.”
Mu Qianqian took the glass and sipped the milk slowly.
When she reached the ginger and jujube bits, her eyes widened slightly in surprise at the Mr.’s thoughtfulness.
She had just started her period today, and the milk had these nourishing ingredients added…
“After you finish, just put the glass in the sink. You don’t need to wash it.”
“Okay.”
Fu Sichan still had work to do, so he turned and went back to the living room to continue.
Mu Qianqian finished the milk and was about to rinse the glass.
But her hand slipped, and the glass fell to the ground with a crash, shattering into pieces.
Fu Sichan immediately appeared at the kitchen door. “What happened? Did you get hurt?”
Mu Qianqian’s face turned pale with fear, and she apologized, “I accidentally broke the glass.”
She really was clumsy, she could break a glass just washing it.
Mu Qianqian bent down to pick up the glass shards, but Fu Sichan firmly grasped her hand.
“Don’t move around, wait outside.”
As soon as Fu Sichan finished speaking, he lifted her up horizontally.
Her body suddenly left the ground, and she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, hanging onto him.
With her head resting on his shoulder, Mu Qianqian secretly enjoyed the pleasant scent of him.
Fu Sichan carried her, carefully stepping over the shards of glass, and left the kitchen.
He called Aunt Liu to come and clean up the broken glass.
“Didn’t I tell you? You don’t need to wash the glass. Why did you still handle it?”
Fu Sichan put her down, his tone cold and sounding a bit harsh.
Mu Qianqian lowered her head and replied softly, “I—I won’t do it again next time.”
She had only wanted to wash the glass on the side to prevent the milk from drying and making it harder to clean.
But with her poor eyesight and clumsiness, she managed to mess up even something as simple as washing a glass.
The young girl lowered her head, and from above, Fu Sichan could only see the top of her fluffy hair.
Combined with her sweet, soft voice, it was hard to stay angry.
Fu Sichan said coldly, “This won’t happen again.”
“Okay.”
As Mu Qianqian was about to return to her room, Fu Sichan, with his sharp eyes, noticed a trace of red on her finger.
“Did you cut your finger?” He grabbed her wrist and turned it over.
Mu Qianqian felt the sticky substance on her finger and hissed in pain.
“Does it hurt?”
Mu Qianqian said pitifully, “A little bit.”
The cut from the glass was too small for her to notice at first.
Now she was starting to feel the pain.
Fu Sichan sat her down on the sofa and went to get the first aid kit to disinfect the wound.
Since moving in with Mu Qianqian, the frequency of using the first aid kit had clearly increased.
Fu Sichan applied a bandage, and Mu Qianqian looked at him carefully, trying to see his features clearly.
But the outline of his face remained blurred no matter how hard she tried.
Unconsciously, Mu Qianqian reached out with her other hand and gently touched his chin.
Fu Sichan was momentarily stunned.
“Mr, can I… touch your face?”
Fu Sichan pressed his lips together and said nothing.
Mu Qianqian’s heart fluttered with anticipation, and her heartbeat quickened.
She carefully placed her slender fingers on the edge of his jaw and then slowly traced upwards along his cheek.
The texture under her fingers was smooth, even more delicate than her own skin.
Just as she was about to touch his straight nose, Fu Sichan coldly said, “No touching.”
He turned his head slightly, avoiding her hand.
Mu Qianqian had just started to outline a small part of his face in her mind, only to have the rest blurred again.
Suppressing her disappointment, she let her hand fall and said, “Alright then.”
“Are you so concerned about your husband’s appearance?” Fu Sichan asked with an enigmatic tone.
Mu Qianqian nodded, then shook her head.
“I…”
Fu Sichan, intrigued, asked, “What does that mean?”
Are you concerned or not?
Mu Qianqian puffed out her cheeks, her face slightly flushed, and said, “I—I’m not concerned about your appearance. I’m just curious about what you actually look like.”
She wanted to know what the Mr, who accompanied and spoiled her every day, truly looked like.
That way, she wouldn’t be completely clueless when imagining him in the future.
“Once your eyes are better, you’ll naturally be able to see.”
Mu Qianqian pouted, “But I want to know now.”
“Take good care of your eyes, and if you recover your vision soon, you’ll be able to see me sooner.”
Fu Sichan’s words were wrapped in mystery.
Mu Qianqian’s heart was filled with burning anticipation. She clenched her fist and said firmly, “I will take good care of my eyes.”
Even if it was just to see the Mr. sooner, she needed to protect her eyes and not cry so easily.
Fu Sichan smiled in satisfaction, “Go back and get some rest.”
After Mu Qianqian returned to her room, Fu Sichan loosened his tie and took a big gulp of cold water.
The little girl really treated him like a statue, touching his face randomly.
She didn’t know how hard it had been for him, almost breaking his composure.
…
At the cafeteria, Mu Qianqian was approached by a boy.
“Hey, could you give me your contact information?” the boy said casually.
Mu Qianqian declined, “Sorry, my phone is out of battery.”
The boy blocked her path and said, “Just give me your number, I’ll save it.”
Fang Yanran recognized the boy and whispered to Mu Qianqian, “He’s like Yao Xuan’er, only got in here because of his family. I heard he’s quite the player, switching girlfriends often. Qianqian, it’s better not to get involved.”
People around them were also whispering.
“Which girl is Young Master Feng targeting now? Didn’t he just break up with the Literature Department’s beauty a few days ago?”
“Isn’t that the genius Mu Qianqian? She seems to have eye problems, but she’s really stunning way better looking in person than in photos!”
“She’s so beautiful. I think she’s much prettier than Young Master Feng’s ex-girlfriends.”
“Forget it, if Young Master Feng has his eyes on her, she probably won’t escape his clutches. Tsk tsk. Our school is going to have another lovesick girl.”
Young Master Feng, whose real name was Feng Song, was known as a notorious playboy at the Finance University. He switched girlfriends more frequently than changing clothes.
Girls that Feng Song targeted usually ended up with him.
Feng Song was tall, good-looking, and wealthy. It was hard for girls to resist his persistent pursuit.
However, Feng Song’s affection was quick to come and just as quick to go, and he would quickly lose interest after a short period.
In the end… Mu Qianqian might end up just like his previous ex-girlfriends, clinging to him and unable to let go.
