The Cannon-Fodder Ex-Wife Finds Happiness Chapter 90.1

Chapter 90 1/2

Yan Lei failed in his attempt to reconcile with Qiao Wei.

He wanted to reconcile with her in bed, but it didn’t work out. Qiao Wei refused to reconcile with him.

It had been a long time since Yan Lei had experienced being rejected after seeking intimacy.

“What’s wrong exactly? Just tell me if there’s something bothering you, don’t stay upset,” Yan Lei was very helpless, holding Qiao Wei on his lap and coaxing her gently.

“I’m angry because you’ve become indifferent to Xiang Xiang since you married your second wife,” Qiao Wei said.

She knew this reason couldn’t hold up, let alone be expressed. But her anger was genuine, brewing inside her, making her feel uncomfortable.

“It’s okay,” she muttered, “I’ll be fine in a while.”

Yan Lei asked, “Is it something related to work?”

“There’s nothing wrong with work. I’ll just ignore them,” Qiao Wei said.

Yan Lei paused, “What’s wrong with them? Are they bullying you?”

“Oh, it’s just the usual stuff. The higher-ups are treating the lower-level units’ transferred staff like slaves. I won’t stoop to their level, so they’re isolating me,” Qiao Wei dismissed it.

In Qiao Wei’s eyes, these behaviors were not only shallow but also ridiculous, revealing a kind of childishness that was hard to put into words. Usually, such behaviors were only seen in girls’ dormitories in high school or college, rarely in the workplace.

The topic successfully shifted.

Because Yan Lei’s face had turned cold.

Suddenly, Qiao Wei’s earlier grievances seemed trivial to herself, and she found herself comforting Yan Lei instead, “Don’t worry, I won’t let myself be treated unfairly.”

Her words… who was the one who was silently sulking earlier and refused to explain why?

Although Yan Lei only silently complained to himself, his expression said it all.

Qiao Wei couldn’t help feeling embarrassed and angry. “I was in a bad mood just now.”

“Did someone gossip behind your back?” Yan Lei hugged Qiao Wei tightly. “Don’t pay attention to them. The sisters-in-law don’t have bad intentions. That’s just how they are, and you know it.”

At this point, Qiao Wei decided to go along with the flow and admitted, “Well, I’ll ignore them.”

But she straightened up and became serious. “Yan Lei, I want to talk to you seriously about something.”

“Go ahead, I’m listening.”

“It’s about having children,” Qiao Wei said. “I don’t want to have any more children.”

Yan Lei was surprised. “Wasn’t that already agreed upon a long time ago? Why are you bringing this up again? Haven’t I been obediently wearing it all along?”

That was agreed upon with Qiao Weiwei before.

Now it’s with Qiao Wei.

Qiao Wei felt somewhat ridiculous herself. She was already an adult, yet she wanted a sense of ceremony, wanted to formally reach this agreement with Yan Lei in her capacity as his wife.

Before, when she took over everything, she just felt like she had won the lottery, as if she had picked up a free life. Now, she cared about it.

How childish.

But serious matters had to be discussed seriously. “You’ll have to wear it from the beginning in the future, you can’t put it on halfway.”

Despite a few occasions where they couldn’t control themselves and only put it on at the last minute, it should be worn from the beginning.

But in fact, males secrete a small amount of sperm from the beginning. So some accidental pregnancies happen this way. The safest way is to wear it from the beginning.

Yan Lei, feeling helpless, still agreed. “Okay.”

Feeling sorry for him again for compromising, Qiao Wei kissed him and said after some thought, “Don’t be so frequent in the future. Once a week is enough for me.”

Two one-way trips of 40-60 minutes on the bike every day, morning jogging on Sundays, and once a week sexual activity.

Healthy, living well, perfect!

Yan Lei directly pinched her waist, threatening, “When I’m seventy, once a week. For now, I’ll listen to you and wear it properly. You’re not allowed to refuse me for no reason.”

Once a week at seventy? I salute you as a hero if you can do it once a year at seventy.

But Qiao Wei, with her emotional intelligence, would never say anything that would hurt a man’s self-esteem like that.

She said seriously, “It’s not for no reason. Chairman Mao said that young people are the sun at eight or nine o’clock. Chairman Mao also said, ‘Study hard and make progress every day.'”

“We, as young people, should not indulge in these low-level interests.”

“We should respond to the call, be pure individuals, be moral individuals, be individuals free from low-level interests, be individuals beneficial to the people.”

Qiao Wei broke free from Yan Lei’s embrace, stood up, patted his shoulder, and said earnestly, “Comrade Yan Lei, I admit you’re a hero in battle, but there’s still plenty of room for improvement in other aspects for you.”

Yan Lei not only failed to achieve anything, but he also felt annoyed.

What’s even more annoying is that on Monday morning, Captain Zhao looked at him strangely.

Yan Lei: “?”

Seeing Yan Lei looking over, Captain Zhao averted his gaze.

Too obvious.

Yan Lei said, “Spit it out if you have something to say.”

“Hey, how can you talk to the big brother like that?”

“Looks like you haven’t held in the fart properly.”

“Tsk.” Captain Zhao chuckled mischievously. “Anyway, both your sister-in-law and I are happy for you.”

Yan Lei: “?”

Captain Zhao: “About what happened yesterday.”

Yan Lei: “What happened yesterday?”

Captain Zhao chuckled even more mischievously. “What your son told us yesterday.”

Yan Lei had a bad feeling. He had sent Yan Xiang to play with Jun Jun yesterday. What nonsense did Yan Xiang talk over there?

“Oh, just…” Captain Zhao gestured with both hands, as if conducting a symphony, “The more people, the more productive. Young people should have more children.”

Yan Lei: “…”

Hearing the sound of wheels approaching from afar, Yan Lei walked away.

“Hey, don’t leave. I’m not finished yet. I’ve told you before, take advantage of your youth and have children quickly, raise them together to save trouble. Hey, did you hear me or not?”

The big brother continued to chatter as he followed.

Qiao Wei returned the town committee’s bicycle early on Monday morning.

The storage keeper said, “Back so soon?”

“No,” Qiao Wei said, “We bought a bicycle at home, so we don’t need the town committee’s anymore.”

The storage keeper had seen it on Sunday too. Military officers’ families were riding bikes all over the street.

“Ah, can you handle a 28 bike?” The storage keeper looked at Qiao Wei’s petite figure with some concern.

“My family bought a 26 women’s bike, the same as this one.”

Hearing that she bought a 26 women’s bike, the storage keeper couldn’t help feeling sorry. “Sigh.”

Qiao Wei was puzzled.

She hurried back home, pushed the new bike to Sister Yang’s house to pick up Yan Xiang.

Sister Yang said, “You’re lucky, there are only two women’s bikes, one is Mr. Pan daughter’s, and the other is yours. Now, others will talk behind your back again.”

Qiao Wei: “???”

It was inexplicable. The storage keeper also sighed inexplicably.

Sister Yang said, “It’s hard to buy a bicycle, and who buys a women’s bike.”

First of all, it’s considered the man of the house’s transportation tool. Basically, the man of the house is assumed to be the one.

And the carrying capacity of a 28 bike is truly incomparable to a slanted women’s bike. Squeeze in a bit, sit two children on the front crossbar, the wife holds another child on the rear seat, and a family of five can ride on a 28 bike.

A slanted women’s bike can’t carry people in the front, at most it can only carry three people.

So that’s how it is, Qiao Wei laughed and cried.

“Chairman Mao said, ‘Women hold up half the sky.’ People always talk about studying hard and making progress in theory, but why don’t they put it into practice?” Qiao Wei said. “Brother Zhao has a military jeep to take him to and from work. If something happens, you can ask Xiao Zhang to borrow the official car. If you buy a women’s bike, both you and Xixi can ride to buy groceries, and you can put a child seat on the back, it’ll be convenient when Wu Nier sits on it.”

It’s fiction, a mass produced web fiction. Treat the propaganda part with a pinch of salt. The propaganda proported by the west through Hollywood is even more in-your-face, and we take it as entertainment.

I officially can’t take it anymore this story was so good in the beginning. But now it just seems like propaganda with a little romance thrown in. And the FL also just keeps getting more annoying and unlikeable.
