Chapter 47: Heartfelt
There was a patch of bright red on his white undershirt, the wound looked fresh, and blood was still flowing down the fabric, pooling into a small puddle beneath him.
Mu Yunqing, his face slightly pale, was kneeling on the shore, in his other hand, he was holding a long sword that was constantly dripping blood.
It was clear that the wound on Mu Yunqing’s arm was self-inflicted.
Su Jiu was startled when she saw his wound, and she subconsciously stood up from the hot spring.
Mu Yunqing looked over, and immediately shouted, “Sit down!”
Su Jiu was stunned, she lowered her head, her face, which had already been flushed red by the mist in the hot spring, was even more flushed with blood.
She quickly sat back down, her arms wrapped around her chest, she was speechless, “Senior Brother, what happened?”
Su Jiu’s memory was still stuck in the river outside Wuxiang City.
Mu Yunqing retracted his gaze, but the girl’s tender body, dripping with crystal-clear water droplets, was still flashing before his eyes.
It made his mind go blank, and his body felt the familiar heat again.
Mu Yunqing quickly chanted the calming mantra, and it took a while for him to calm down.
“This is the Luminous Pavilion,” he said softly, “You suddenly disappeared in that river, Senior Brother followed the trail left by the shadow butterfly, all the way here, and found…” Mu Yunqing paused, although he didn’t believe the lord’s explanation, he still said, “It was the Lord of the Luminous Pavilion who saved you. He even allowed us to temporarily borrow the detoxifying spring.”
Su Jiu was a little surprised, “The Lord of the Luminous Pavilion?”
[No, what a kind-hearted person! He’s really willing to let others borrow it?]
“Did he make any demands?”
Su Jiu naturally wouldn’t believe that the man was overflowing with kindness.
But Mu Yunqing shook his head.
Su Jiu was even more surprised, “He didn’t ask for anything?”
“Yes.” Mu Yunqing couldn’t figure it out either, but he didn’t want to worry Su Jiu anymore, so he smiled lightly, slowly stood up, touched Su Jiu’s wet hair, and said softly, “But you don’t have to worry too much, maybe that lord is really a good person.”
He didn’t believe it himself.
It was noon the next day when the poison in her body was completely suppressed.
The rockery opened again, and Qi Chaoye, wearing a white and red mask and dressed in red, appeared in the peach forest.
Su Jiu had just put on her clothes and was tying her sash.
Mu Yunqing had bandaged the wound on his arm, and as he looked up, he saw him.
“Lord.”
Although he didn’t know what he was up to, they had borrowed the Luminous Pavilion’s spring, and they had received his help.
Mu Yunqing walked over and bowed deeply to him, his tone sincere, “I am grateful for the Lord’s generosity in helping my junior sister with her poison. In the future, if the Lord has any requests, as long as they do not endanger the living beings of the three realms, Yunqing will do his utmost, even if it means going through fire and water, he will not hesitate.”
Qi Chaoye listened to him finish before gently waving his finger.
“Going through fire and water is unnecessary,” he looked at Su Jiu with a smile in his eyes, just meeting her gaze.
“This lord can make a request now.”
His gaze fixed on Su Jiu, and she inexplicably had a bad feeling.
Mu Yunqing’s brows furrowed slightly, he walked over and took Su Jiu’s hand, gently pulling her behind him, his tone still gentle, but不容拒绝, “Any request, Lord, just tell me.”
Qi Chaoye shook his head with a smile, “That’s different.”
“If I say that I have fallen for this young lady at first sight, and I want to ask her to marry me, to be my wife, to be together for a long time, to be a loving couple, would you be willing to agree?”
The fox eyes under the mask were filled with a smile, quietly watching Su Jiu.
Su Jiu looked back at him, and in those familiar eyes, she suddenly remembered someone.
[Is it him?!]
Is it him?
Mu Yunqing was stunned, before he could figure it out, the young man in red had already taken a step forward, his ring-wearing hand gently stroking Su Jiu’s cheek, his voice filled with a smile, “What a clever little girl.”
Su Jiu’s expression turned serious, she subconsciously raised her hand to push his hand away, and with her other hand, she drew the sword from Mu Yunqing’s waist, raising it to stab him.
But the peach blossoms in the peach forest all fell at that moment, petals flying, blocking her vision.
Something, whether it was petals or something softer than petals, gently touched her lips.
Qi Chaoye’s laughter echoed in her ears, “Next time we meet, little Junior Sister, you’ll have to marry me.”
Bastard!
Su Jiu’s hand holding the sword trembled slightly.
As the petals scattered, she realized that she was standing by the river outside Wuxiang City, as if everything that had just happened was just an illusion.
Mu Yunqing, dressed in blue, stood beside her, his face a little ugly. He finally figured out who Su Jiu was talking about.
“That person is Second Junior Brother?!”
Su Jiu didn’t expect Mu Yunqing to react so quickly. She looked at him in surprise, a little hesitant in her heart, whether she should admit it.
If she admitted it, Senior Brother would ask her how she knew it was him…
Su Jiu was still hesitating when Mu Yunqing comforted her first, “Forget it, no matter who it is, as long as they can help Junior Sister.”
His tone was sincere, not fake at all.
Su Jiu’s heart warmed.
“Senior Brother,” she looked up at Mu Yunqing, sincerely saying, “Thank you.”
No matter how the Mu Yunqing in the book had treated her, Su Jiu had walked this path with him, and Mu Yunqing’s gentleness and consideration, his sincerity, were completely genuine.
Su Jiu couldn’t help but completely distinguish him from that Mu Yunqing.
The Mu Yunqing in front of her was the one who had grown up with her, who had always been gentle, considerate, and thoughtful.
He was her only Senior Brother.
Su Jiu blinked gently, looking at the gentle and elegant young man in front of her, her heart filled with warmth.
Mu Yunqing looked at her and smiled slightly, reaching out to touch her face, his gaze softened.
“I’m your Senior Brother, between us, there’s no need to thank me.”
Moreover,
Mu Yunqing looked at the girl’s delicate and beautiful face, at her clean and bright eyes that only reflected his image, the fingers that landed on her cheek unconsciously curled up slightly.
Moreover,
He didn’t know when it started,
He had already stopped treating her as just his junior sister.
In that peach forest, when he was blindfolded and took off her clothes,
He shamelessly had an unspeakable physiological reaction to the little girl he had watched grow up.
It was beyond his control.
He… didn’t want to control it either.
