The sound of “god shot” on the door dragged Chu Xihen out of his nightmare.

He sat up, gasping for breath. Sweat streamed down his handsome, pale face, clinging precariously to his sharp chin. The beautiful collarbones exposed at his neckline rose and fell with his ragged breaths.

The countdown timer in front of him was gone. His two years of leisure had come to a complete end.

The Infinite Game had begun to merge with the real world, and the apocalypse had descended!

But for Chu Xihen, what was even more absurd than the apocalypse was the content of his dream just now.

The world he had lived in for over twenty years was actually a novel, and he was just cannon fodder destined to die at the very beginning!

Because Lou Su, the bed partner he had chosen two years ago based on his high-value appearance, was none other than one of the male protagonists in this BL (boy’s love) novel. From the very beginning of the novel, he had taken the place of the other male protagonist. If he didn’t die, who would?

“Chu Xihen, hurry up and pack your things. The boss told me to take you away,” a man’s voice, laced with obvious disgust, urged from outside.

This was Wan Ming, one of Lou Su’s lackeys. In the two years that he had been with Lou Su, the other man had always looked at him with disdain. In this kind of emergency, he certainly wouldn’t have a pleasant tone.

Chu Xihen slowly got out of bed, went to the bathroom to take a shower, then changed his clothes. He went to the bedside and put on his non-prescription black-rimmed glasses. Even though the glasses covered half of his face, they didn’t diminish his overall beauty at all, but rather added a touch of innocent charm.

After doing all this, he finally opened the door. Wan Ming, who was 1.8 meters tall, stood by the window, his face as black as ink.

“Young Master, were you embroidering flowers in there? Take a look outside and see what it’s like. How could you even sleep?” Wan Ming was really exasperated.

Chu Xihen walked to the window, looking at the thin man. He was even a few centimeters taller than Wan Ming.

He craned his neck to look outside. Collapsed buildings in the distance, a devastated highway, and screams echoing everywhere all indicated that the apocalypse was really here.

“Has our country been invaded?” Chu Xihen looked blankly at Wan Ming.

Wan Ming met his clear, yet seemingly foolish, eyes behind the lenses and was speechless for a moment.

He paused before saying, “Take your ID and come with me to the airport to meet the boss.”

“Can the plane still fly?” Chu Xihen asked.

“Don’t jinx it. If the plane can’t fly, what will we do?” Wan Ming glared at him.

They had heard inside information that someone in Beijing had specially built fortresses to resist the monsters, and they had to hurry over there.

Chu Xihen didn’t say anything more. He went back to his room, grabbed a backpack, packed a few changes of clothes, and then went to the kitchen and put a few bags of seasonings in his bag.

Wan Ming’s expression was terrible when he saw this. “Young Master, what are you bringing these for?”

Chu Xihen wasn’t some young master. Wan Ming used that title to mock him.

“For barbecue,” Chu Xihen was used to it and didn’t care at all.

Wan Ming’s eyes glazed over. “We’re escaping, not going on a spring outing. Can you please wake up a little?”

If the boss hadn’t instructed him to bring Chu Xihen over safely, he really wanted to leave this useless pretty boy here to fend for himself!

“I’m ready. Let’s go.” Chu Xihen only had a backpack of stuff, which was quite efficient.

Wan Ming was too lazy to say more. Before going out, he gave him an axe. “Take this for self-defense.”

Chu Xihen took it with both hands and frowned. “It’s a bit heavy.”

It wasn’t as convenient as a weapon card.

When Wan Ming heard this, the words “good for nothing” were on the tip of his tongue, but he swallowed them back. No matter what, this pretty boy was still his boss’s man, and he had to endure it.

“Stick close to me.” Wan Ming also had an axe in his hand. He cautiously looked around before opening the door, and only led the way when he didn’t find anything unusual.

Chu Xihen followed closely behind him, feeling like they were the only two living people in the whole building. It was so quiet that they could hear each other’s breathing.

They walked down the stairs all the way without encountering anything strange, but a green liquid was everywhere on the walls, emitting a pungent, fishy smell.

Not only did it smell bad, but the liquid was also corrosive. If it touched a wound, it would infect a person and turn them into a monster.

“The road to the airport is still open. Let’s drive there quickly, lest…” Wan Ming said as he walked to the car, opened the door, glanced inside, and immediately slammed the door shut again with a “bang.”

Chu Xihen poked his head out. “Whoa! Zombies!”

In Wan Ming’s car, a person covered in green, with green liquid flowing from the corners of his mouth and broken skin, climbed in from the passenger seat window. Half of his body was lying in the driver’s seat, and the green liquid was dripping everywhere.

“An infected person bitten by a Variant. You can call them zombies. They move slowly and bite people when they see them. If a living person’s wound is contaminated with this green liquid, they will also be infected,” Wan Ming said.

“Variants?” Chu Xihen asked, puzzled.

“With your IQ, it’s hard for me to explain it clearly right now. You just need to know that this world is being invaded by various monsters, and those monsters are called Variants by the higher-ups,” Wan Ming said, leading Chu Xihen forward, intending to find another car to get on the road.

“Don’t get scratched by the infected, and don’t touch the green liquid. There’s no cure after being infected,” Wan Ming instructed.

Chu Xihen nodded to show that he understood.

There was no cure at the moment because the awakened abilities of the current ability users were only some basic skills, but as time went on, the more the Infinite Game world merged with the real world, the more Variants would appear. Some Variants would carry skill cards, which could be obtained after killing the Variants.

Some of these healing skills could be used to treat infected people.

After searching for more than ten minutes, they finally found a car. The two got in the car and drove for a while before seeing that the road ahead was blocked. A building was pressing down on the road, and the car couldn’t pass at all.

So they had to get out of the car and walk. The journey to the airport, which originally only took half an hour by car, took them two hours.

Fortunately, they didn’t encounter any Variants along the way. Although they encountered a lot of infected people, Wan Ming, whose speed had been enhanced, was skilled and had no problem dealing with them.

Chu Xihen was like Wan Ming’s accessory along the way, neither contributing nor causing trouble.

Unfortunately, just as they arrived outside the airport, they heard a rumbling sound, and a plane took off over their heads.

“Looks like we’re late. Lou Su wouldn’t have abandoned us, would he?” Chu Xihen looked up at the sky.

Wan Ming’s heart tightened, and he was immediately annoyed. “Isn’t it all your fault for dawdling? It’s understandable that the boss abandoned you, but he would never abandon me!”

As soon as he finished speaking, he pointed to the sky in horror. “What is that?”

A dark green crack suddenly appeared in the sky above the plane. Green-haired wolves fell from the crack like dumplings. Some fell on the plane, and some fell directly on the ground.

The plane’s cockpit was quickly attacked by the green-haired wolves, and the plane began to spin in the air. In the blink of an eye, it lost its balance and fell from the sky.

“Variants, they’re Variants, so many Variants!” Many people in the airport screamed and ran out, and the scene instantly became chaotic.

“Not good! Find a place to hide first!” Wan Ming said and turned around to run back, not caring whether Chu Xihen could keep up.

He found a convenience store nearby and hid inside. Wan Ming turned around and saw that Chu Xihen was actually following him closely and hadn’t been carried away by the crowd.

They had just found a corner to stand in when a green-haired wolf, more than one person tall, broke through the convenience store’s glass door just a step away from them, plunging half of its body inside.

Wan Ming reacted quickly, rolled out, and left Chu Xihen alone in the corner, staring at the green-haired wolf.

The people who had just entered the convenience store screamed and ran out again. Wan Ming stood at the door, looking at Chu Xihen with a conflicted expression.

Chu Xihen held the axe in his hand, staring at the green-haired wolf with a blank expression.

Just as the green-haired wolf opened its basin-sized mouth to bite Chu Xihen, a burst of gunfire rang out.

A tall figure with long legs strode in from outside the convenience store. He was wearing black camouflage, holding a gun in one hand and throwing a pistol to Chu Xihen with the other.

Chu Xihen threw away the axe in his hand and picked up the pistol with both hands.

“Come here!” The man’s voice was low and deep. His handsome face with its sharp lines didn’t show any emotion. The way he held the gun and shot was incredibly handsome.

Seeing this scene, Chu Xihen had only one thought in his mind: As expected of the bed partner he had carefully selected, he was so pleasing to the eye!
