Chapter 21: A House Full of Gold, Gems, and Medicinal Herbs
Sunlight streamed through the window, filling the room with a golden glow.
Bars of glittering gold filled the entire wooden crates.
A total of twenty-eight boxes radiated a dazzling golden luster—so bright it was almost blinding.
Ruby, emerald, jadeite, golden sapphire, white diamond, pink diamond, blood diamond, jadeite, silver—various types of jewelry filled another four to five crates.
Their brilliant colors sparkled like the stars, dazzling and mesmerizing to behold.
There were also priceless ancient paintings and rare books, all neatly stacked—another ten or so crates.
Then came the porcelain wares—blue-and-white porcelain, yellow-glazed, blue-glazed, peacock green-glazed, and imitation Longquan celadon glazes.
All were from the Ming dynasty, with a total of twenty crates.
Their texture was smooth as jade, and the craftsmanship was so exquisite it bordered on the divine—true masterpieces!
Silks, plain brocades, Shu brocades, sable furs, Yun gauze, and other fabrics filled around ten more crates.
And then came the crates of precious traditional medicinal herbs: ginseng, lingzhi, American ginseng, saffron, deer antler velvet, bear bile, and more—five massive crates in total.
Although Song Kexing had collected some gold, silver, jewels, and herbs in her space, they couldn’t compare to this.
Each gold bar weighed about 100 grams and was worth around 50,000 yuan in the modern world.
Each crate contained 100 gold bars. With 28 crates, that was approximately 140 million yuan.
The value of the gemstones and jade easily ran into the billions.
Not to mention the paintings, rare books, and porcelain—those alone could be worth hundreds of billions.
Even the fabrics and medicinal herbs were worth around a hundred million.
Altogether, the combined value of these treasures was at least over a hundred billion yuan.
For once, Song Kexing’s always-calm expression revealed a hint of joy.
Looks like this trip wasn’t in vain!
Those guards watching the warehouse probably had no idea there was so much treasure inside.
Otherwise, there’s no way they’d just obediently stand guard like that.
The last four or five crates contained personal items belonging to Song Father and the others—identification documents, clothes, shoes, food, and so on.
There was also a very delicate wooden box, secured with two locks.
Song Kexing directly broke it open.
Inside were thick stacks of banknotes—a total of 60,000 yuan—and some national ration tickets.
So this was the real fortune of the Song family. That measly 7,000 they gave her earlier was just to fool her.
What shocked Song Kexing the most was that there were ten property deeds inside!
Seven courtyard homes, one small Western-style building, and two plots of suburban forest land.
All registered under her scumbag father, Song Chengye!
A gleam of surprise and delight flickered in Song Kexing’s eyes.
She had been thinking of making money in the black market to save up and buy property.
Now she didn’t have to. With all these properties already in hand, why bother working hard for more?
She was lazy by nature—moving forward, aside from completing the occasional task, she might as well just enjoy life as a carefree rich heiress.
Utterly satisfied (๑⁼̴̀꒳⁼̴́๑)୨!
In high spirits, Song Kexing stored all the crates into her space and prepared to leave.
She now had to go to the housing bureau to transfer all properties under her scumbag father’s name to herself.
Then, under her own name, she would rent all the properties to the neighborhood office for free—only then could she truly protect these homes!
No time to lose—Song Kexing set off without delay.
