Chapter 5 – Introduction to the Spiritual Spring Space
In the next instant, Song Kexing and Maruko appeared inside the space.
What greeted their eyes was an endless expanse of lush green grass.
Right in the center of the grassland stood a cozy little farmhouse courtyard.
The wooden fence was covered in colorful morning glories, vibrant and full of life, bringing a sense of joy to anyone who saw them.
Behind the courtyard wall lay a large shimmering lake, glistening with rippling light.
Pushing open the courtyard gate, neat and tidy houses came into view, arranged in a semicircle around the courtyard walls.
At the corners of the courtyard grew lush fruit trees, dripping with green vitality.
In the center of the yard was an ancient spring well.
Back in the modern world, this spring well had been dried up.
But now it was gushing like a fountain, bubbling and steaming with misty vapor.
【Big Boss, quickly drink the spiritual spring water! It can heal your injuries!】
Urged by Maruko.
Song Kexing cupped a handful of spring water and brought it to her mouth.
The clear, sweet water entered her mouth, and instantly, a warm current surged through her chest.
That warmth rapidly spread from her chest to her limbs.
It felt like she was soaking in a cozy hot spring — unbelievably comfortable!
Less than half an hour passed.
Most of Song Kexing’s injuries had already healed, and much of her pain had faded away.
Her eyes sparkled:
【This spiritual spring water is quite miraculous.】
Maruko looked smug:
【Of course! Anything produced by the system is top-tier.
Spiritual spring water has the power to bring the dead back to life. As long as there’s one breath left, it can save a person.
Drink enough of it, and it can beautify the skin, strengthen the body, and even cleanse the meridians and transform the bones!】
Just as it finished speaking, Song Kexing scooped up another handful of spring water.
Maruko hurriedly stopped her:
【Big Boss, don’t drink! Your body is too weak right now. You can only drink one mouthful a day — any more and your body won’t be able to take it!】
Song Kexing looked at the water in her hand, then at Maruko:
【Come here, you drink it.】
Since this was the legendary elixir, it mustn’t go to waste.
Maruko’s eyes lit up, and it zipped over to her eagerly.
It fluttered its little wings joyfully as it drank from her palm:
【Wow, this spiritual spring water is so good! This is the first time I’ve ever tasted something so pure and delicious!】
Song Kexing:
【Aren’t you a system? You don’t need to eat or drink. Isn’t this your first time drinking water?】
Maruko: …
Big Boss, must you be so blunt?!
Song Kexing:
【Maruko, is there a limit to the spiritual spring water? Will it suddenly run out one day?】
Maruko:
【No! As long as Big Boss is here, the spring will never stop flowing!】
Song Kexing responded softly, rubbing its little round head, her voice gentle:
【Since you like it, feel free to drink it whenever you’re in the space. Don’t worry about wasting it.】
Maruko’s eyes instantly welled up with tears of emotion:
【Waaah, Big Boss, you’re so good to me.】
And to think it had even considered switching hosts before — unforgivable!
Looking at the fluffy little creature throwing itself into her arms, Song Kexing couldn’t help but smile.
Her system really was pure and adorable.
…
After drinking a mouthful of spiritual spring water.
Song Kexing felt completely rejuvenated.
Maybe it was the spring water’s effect, but she felt extremely hungry.
She ate two big bowls of white fungus bird’s nest soup and five giant meat buns before she felt full.
Only after eating did Song Kexing have time to process the current situation.
She summoned a full-length mirror with a thought and couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath when she saw her miserable state.
Her clothes were torn and filthy, covered in footprints and stick marks.
Her two long braids had been cut off at the roots, her hair a complete mess — patches missing here and there.
Most striking of all was the wound on her right cheek, caused by a shard of glass.
It extended from the corner of her mouth all the way to behind her ear, the flesh gaping — like something out of a horror film.
Just like the slit-mouthed woman — utterly terrifying.
Song Kexing couldn’t help but touch the wound.
No wonder it had hurt so much while eating earlier — the wound was this deep.
【Big Boss, don’t be sad. Drink spiritual spring water for a few more days and you’ll be fully healed. There won’t even be a scar!】
Maruko jumped into her arms, rubbing its little head against her to comfort her.
【Mm.】
Song Kexing replied lightly, but in her mind, she was recalling who exactly had disfigured her.
This debt — she would repay tenfold!
…
Time inside the space was frozen.
In other words, no matter how many days she stayed inside, no time would pass outside.
Song Kexing ended up recuperating inside the space for an entire week.
She didn’t just laze around either. After two days of rest, she used her mind to organize and categorize all the supplies she had previously gathered.
All these supplies were stored inside the farmhouse’s storage room.
Yes — this farmhouse came with a magical perk:
— Each room was infinitely large. No matter how much stuff you put in, it would never run out of space.
There were six rooms in total inside the farmhouse, all originally empty.
Over the past two days, aside from organizing supplies, Song Kexing also decorated the rooms.
The room on the far left was turned into a bathroom, complete with all kinds of modern bath equipment:
A delicate marble vanity, a bright smart mirror, a luxurious high-end toilet, and a huge massage bathtub.
Everything was of the finest quality. The entire bathroom looked clean and elegant.
The room next to the bathroom was turned into a bedroom and walk-in closet.
In a French style, it had a soft, cozy bed, exquisite wall paintings, a dreamy closet — warm and beautiful.
To the right of that was a study, filled with books collected from modern libraries.
Then came an enormous living room.
A diamond chandelier on the ceiling, a Scandinavian luxury sofa, a golden nanmu tea table, fine ceramic vases…
Next was the storage room.
Aside from furniture and décor, the rest of the supplies were all neatly categorized and stored inside.
At the far right was an open-air kitchen, stocked with all sorts of kitchen appliances and cooking ingredients.
A specific area of the courtyard was sectioned off for fitness and martial arts training.
Treadmills, spinning bikes, elliptical machines, barbells, resistance bands, sandbags, boxing gloves, wooden dummies, darts, and even target shooting.
Song Kexing knew how to box.
Back in the modern rehab center, she had apprenticed under a boxing champion.
Besides her studies, she had spent half of her time each day training in the boxing gym.
Even though she had no legs, she had insisted on practicing.
She imagined the sandbag as her scumbag father’s entire family, punching and pummeling it to her heart’s content.
During all those years of silent endurance, it was boxing that had helped her vent her fury.
Even in a wheelchair, Song Kexing could take on two or three men on her own.
Now that she had legs again, she was completely in her element.
Song Kexing clenched her fists, moved swiftly, her footwork light — punching the sandbag with sharp, resounding thuds.
For a whole hour, she trained hard, drenched in sweat.
This unrestrained feeling of free movement was simply exhilarating!
Thank you, Host God, for giving her a pair of normal legs!
She would definitely fulfill the host’s wish as soon as possible!
