Chapter 8: Debt Repaid

In front of the luxurious gates of the Ding family villa, Ding Quandan nearly tripped as he arrived, only to witness his sister-in-law, Su Jingwen, being forcefully dragged into the villa by Village Chief Ding Daming.

Ding Quandan’s head buzzed with anger. That old bastard Ding Daming hasn’t changed at all, he thought furiously.

They had agreed the debt would be repaid within one day and that there would be no further entanglements. Yet less than an hour had passed, and Ding Daming was already back to harassing Su Jingwen!

Is this guy completely consumed by lust?

Ding Quandan held back his fury, tiptoeing to hide behind the Ding family gate. From there, he overheard Ding Daming shamelessly say:

“Dear Jingwen, I’m the village chief of Baisha Village, the village chief! Just stay with me, and I’ll make sure you live in luxury. In a few years, when I retire, the position of village chief will be yours—all yours! I’m begging you, just once, just let me do it once! I think of you every day—I even dream about you. I can’t live without you!”

Su Jingwen snapped back:

“Ding Daming, I will never be your mistress! Get your hands off me! If my Quandan finds out you broke your word, he won’t let you off!”

Peeking through the door, Ding Quandan was shocked to see Ding Daming, that lecherous old mutt, all but attacking his sister-in-law right there in the courtyard.

Su Jingwen was wearing a sexy hip-hugging skirt, which had already been torn by Ding Daming, exposing half her backside.

Ding Daming, with his bulky body, large head, and toad-like mouth, used one large hand to pin Su Jingwen’s wrists behind her back, while the other reached for her top. In desperation, Su Jingwen twisted around and bit Ding Daming on the arm.

Ding Daming screamed in pain, but it only seemed to ignite his twisted excitement even more. His eyes lit up as he laughed:

“Fiery little thing—I like that! Hahaha! You’re mine—mine!”

“You disgusting old man! Don’t push your luck! If I scream, Quandan will come right away, and you’ll regret it!”

Terrified, Su Jingwen ducked behind a large tree, her face pale, trembling with fear.

Ding Daming sneered:

“Who are you trying to scare? That idiot you live with? He can’t even take care of himself, let alone protect you! Hell, he needs someone to feed him! And you—you’re a beautiful woman, like a celebrity, and you ended up with a moron. What were you thinking? You work two jobs just to pay for his medical bills! Up at the crack of dawn, waiting on him hand and foot—what the hell are you getting out of this?”

He even pitied her, calling it a waste of a good cabbage fed to a pig.

Su Jingwen shot back:

“Ding Daming, I finally get it—you’re jealous of Quandan! You’re right—I am a fool. Not only do I take care of Quandan, I plan to do so for the rest of my life. At least he doesn’t try to assault me. He might be slow, but he respects me, protects me, and knows how to be grateful! Unlike you—you’re a vile, greedy, shameless thug! I quit as deputy village chief. Go find someone else!”

Su Jingwen scolded him and tried to leave.

Ding Daming blocked her path with a wicked grin:

“You think this is a vegetable market? Come and go as you please? You can quit as deputy, but only after sleeping with me!”

“In your dreams! Ding Daming, you’ve lost all sense of law and decency! Move!”

He grabbed her slender wrist again, fondling her:

“Little beauty, you still owe me several thousand. You think you can leave without paying? That useless idiot you live with—he can’t borrow a damn cent. Why wait? Just sleep with me now—I’ll take you to heaven!”

“Don’t touch me! You said I had a whole day—it’s been barely two hours!”

“Jingwen, you’re so dumb it’s almost funny! You really think that idiot Quandan can borrow money? Even if you gave him a month, he wouldn’t get a cent! One way or another, you’ll be mine. Might as well be now—just once!”

When sweet talk didn’t work, Ding Daming resorted to force. He wrapped his arms around her, about to violate her.

Suddenly, from the shadows, Ding Quandan roared, and the civet perched on his shoulder lunged forward, biting Ding Daming on the butt again!

Ding Daming screamed, dropped Su Jingwen, and darted behind a tree, grabbing a stick and shrieking:

“What the hell is that thing?! Stay back, or I’ll kill you!”

Ding Quandan shouted:

“Ding Daming, you filthy old man! You said one day—do you talk with your ass?! How can you be a village chief with no integrity?!”

Seeing Su Jingwen crying on the ground broke Quandan’s heart.

Being too beautiful really is dangerous, he thought. If I hadn’t gained the Medicine Immortal’s space, she would’ve eventually been violated by this scum.

Ding Daming, rich and powerful, practically ruled Baisha Village. As long as Su Jingwen stayed here, it was like a lamb in a tiger’s den.

When Ding Daming realized it was Quandan, he burst out laughing, his toad-like mouth stretching to his ears:

“You dumb idiot—you brought a wild beast, and I’m supposed to be scared? A freeloading fool like you—don’t tell me you actually got the money!”

Ding Quandan swung a worn denim bag off his shoulder, reached inside, and dramatically pulled out two thick stacks of hundred-yuan bills, flinging them at Ding Daming:

“Village Chief Ding, open your dog eyes and take a good look! Real or fake? Count it—see if it’s twenty thousand! If it is, hand over the IOU!”

“Huh?!”

Ding Daming stared at the money on the ground, then at the supposed fool in front of him.

He quickly scooped up the cash, inspecting it with disbelief:

“It’s real… Two full stacks! Twenty thousand! My god, Quandan—where the hell did you get this kind of money?!”

“I didn’t steal or rob. Where I got it is none of your business. Now give me the IOU!”

Radiating confidence and determination, Quandan’s whole demeanor changed.

Ding Daming was nearly driven mad. Who said this guy was an idiot? Where’s the idiocy now?!

His beautiful prey had been within reach, but now he couldn’t even touch her. He wanted to die.

He was unwilling—deeply unwilling!

But with the debt settled, he had no choice.

Defeated, he said sullenly:

“Su Jingwen, you can go.”

He handed over the IOU, which Quandan immediately ripped into shreds right in front of him.

“Quandan, I… I can’t stand up…”

Seeing that his sister-in-law had no strength left, Quandan gently lifted her onto his back and carried her home.

At their doorstep, Su Jingwen turned to him in tears, grabbed his face, and kissed him deeply on the lips.

The kiss lasted several minutes, then she suddenly pushed him away, full of guilt:

“What’s wrong with me? How could I kiss you—I’m your sister-in-law!”

Blushing furiously, she fled into her room like smoke.
