Chapter 28: Whether to Apply Current Crop
After Jiang Chiyu’s second “plea”, one of the corpses couldn’t take it anymore. He sat up from the bed, holding his old waist. “Ah, I really can’t do it anymore. I’ll come, I’ll come, I also have a walkie-talkie, I’ll help you ask if there’s anything at the door.”
The other corpses also sat up and moved their bodies, while the mummy tiredly sat on the floor with his butt.
The scene was so magical that Su Tian and the others looked at it dumbfounded.
Jiang Chiyu smiled, “Okay, thank you.”
The corpses asked the director and got the answer that there was indeed something waiting for them at the door, which had now been moved away, and told them to come out and not make things difficult for their actors anymore.
The few people looked at each other, Jiang Chiyu glanced at Han Shuo, signaling him to open the door.
Although the director said so, there was still fear. Han Shuo knew that Jiang Chiyu wanted to give this small performance opportunity to him, so he looked at him gratefully and was the first to push the door open and go out.
The rest of them hurried to follow.
Jiang Chiyu walked at the back, thoughtfully closed the door for the actor.
After coming out, someone laughed out first, and with this start, the others also laughed out loud.
“Fuck, it’s over, I’ve never seen such a scene in my life.”
“I don’t seem to be so scared anymore.”
“To think that it could still be played like this. Thanks to Jiang Chiyu for thinking of it.”
Su Tian was a little confused, glanced at Jiang Chiyu, saw that he was still lazy, couldn’t help but ask, “Jiang Chiyu, are you really scared or not?”
Jiang Chiyu raised his eyelids, and said casually, “What if I’m scared, will you protect me?”
“If you’re scared,” Su Tian actually couldn’t figure out whether he was scared or not. On one hand, she felt that Jiang Chiyu performed very freely, but on the other hand, she felt that not being scared at all was really a bit unreasonable.
She didn’t know what she wanted to express, and said uneasily, “Then you stand behind me.”
Jiang Chiyu had just closed the door, and glanced at their standing positions when he heard this, and snorted with a smile. He agreed, “Okay.”
He was standing behind everyone now.
Su Tian also found out, scratched her braid, and wanted to say that it was okay for him to stand in the front. But when she looked back, the dark corridor was like a monster opening its bloody mouth, and she shuddered all over. She really couldn’t accept herself standing at the back, so she arranged a different position for Jiang Chiyu, “If you’re scared, you can stand to my left, too.”
Zhou Ying and Wei Sicheng were on her right, and no one was on her left.
“I’ll just stand at the back. ” Jiang Chiyu’s lips curled up, “If something happens, you stand in front to block for me. ”
Su Tian snorted and didn’t refuse.
They continued to walk forward, this time with their cellphone flashlights turned on.
The five people’s lights were quite bright together, but the illumination range was a bit short, and they couldn’t see things in the distance, while things nearby were dazzlingly bright.
Su Tian wasn’t as scared as before, and started to look around curiously again, but this time she was more cautious and ready to close her eyes at any time.
She still didn’t know if Jiang Chiyu was really scared or not, but because Jiang Chiyu was standing behind her, Su Tian was not so scared.
It felt very reassuring.
The haunted house structure was much more complicated than it looked from the outside, with corridors crisscrossing in all directions. But thinking about it, it made sense. If it was a simple straight corridor, where you just walked straight in and straight out scared, it would be quite boring.
So after walking for a while, they successfully got lost.
Han Shuo was really not expecting the haunted house to be so big. As the lead, he had the most to worry about. His mind was always tense, and everything looked the same, so he quickly led the group to a place where they didn’t know where the original path was.
The vision here was too dark, and the hospital rooms indeed all looked the same. Even Jiang Chiyu was momentarily confused about which was which.
Up to now, they had only encountered two waves of particularly scary things in total. For the first wave, only Jiang Chiyu and Su Tian saw it, while the others didn’t even see it. The second wave was directly turned into a comedy segment by Jiang Chiyu, not scary at all, and very funny.
To the point that they now suspected that the director didn’t plan to accompany them to play because they were too weird.
Han Shuo was the oldest among them, so he took the responsibility of leading them out, trying to recall his few haunted house experiences, hoping to find some techniques.
He thought for a moment, “Usually haunted houses have signs or are one-way, you can only go forward, and you can get out in a few dozen minutes. It won’t be like this one with such a high degree of freedom, where tourists will wander around for who knows how long before they can get out. Everyone look around, we must have overlooked sign boards or something like that.”
What he said made sense, and everyone turned on their flashlights again to shine on the surrounding walls and corners, trying to find things like road signs.
Jiang Chiyu didn’t disturb their enthusiasm, but he was clear in his heart that it was unlikely to be found.
He had been observing the surrounding environment the whole time, and if there were any, he would have seen them long ago, and wouldn’t have failed to discover them until now.
But Han Shuo said one thing right, they must have overlooked something.
What could be overlooked?
Jiang Chiyu licked his upper teeth, looked down and thought for a moment, and asked them, “Did you read the introduction of the haunted house posted on the wall when you came in?”
“No.” Su Tian shook her head, “Reading it would make me imagine things, I didn’t dare.”
Zhou Ying: “I only glanced at it, and didn’t read too much either.”
Han Shuo nodded, “I did finish reading it, it just introduced the background of this hospital, a very clichéd ghost story.”
Jiang Chiyu: “Then do you remember if there was a map next to it?”
“It seems there was…” With his reminder, Zhou Ying also remembered, and nodded, “I remember, there was an escape route map of the amusement park, and it said to take a photo to remember it or something. I didn’t take it seriously either.”
Han Shuo: “Yes, yes, yes.”
“I have an impression.” Jiang Chiyu tried to recall what that map looked like, but he was really not interested at the time, so he only glanced at it and only knew it was a map.
Now it seemed that he could remember that the map they ignored had words like “ward” and “nurse station”.
“…” Jiang Chiyu looked at them and came to a conclusion, “That should be the map of the haunted house.”
Everyone fell silent.
“So,” Zhou Ying said quietly, “he let us take photos not to remember the escape route in case of emergency, but to take a picture of the haunted house route map to know how to walk after entering the haunted house?”
Su Tian started swiping through her phone. “So did you guys take any?”
Zhou Ying and Han Shuo both shook their heads.
Su Tian’s fingers flew over the screen, as if afraid that others would see, she covered it vaguely with the other hand. Jiang Chiyu didn’t intend to look at her screen, but because of his height and standing position, he still saw a dialog box pop up on her phone:
Whether to apply current crop.
Su Tian quickly clicked yes.
After clicking, she peeked to the left uneasily, and then looked at Zhou Ying and the others and said, “I took it.”
