Chapter 47: Then Show Me on the Exam

The few of them immediately quieted down.

Zhou Ying’s intention was just to share this distressing news. Seeing her goal accomplished, she didn’t linger and crept back to her own seat.

Su Tian instantly turned around, hugging the stack of notebooks on her desk and muttering to herself: “This is great. It really is great …coming at just the right time.”

Jiang Chiyu scoffed from the side.

Finally, it was time to leave school. While packing up her Sunday assignments, Su Tian realized the back of her math test paper had physics questions printed on it. She picked up Jiang Chiyu’s to check and sure enough it was the same, yet the two people behind them had normal papers.

The two misprinted papers happened to be taken by her, one for herself and one given to Jiang Chiyu.

As she was sitting on the inside and it wasn’t convenient for her to go out, Jiang Chiyu simply took both their papers and went to find the math class representative to get new ones.

Su Tian was packing her schoolbag at her seat when she heard Hu Cong call out to her, “Su Tian, someone’s looking for you outside.”

Why was someone looking for her again?

Su Tian looked up and glanced out the window but didn’t see anyone familiar.

Hu Cong hurriedly left with his backpack as soon as school ended. Su Tian didn’t have time to ask who was looking for her. After hesitating for a moment, thinking Hu Cong might have misheard the name, she continued packing her own things.

After a while, someone appeared next to her seat. Su Tian thought Jiang Chiyu had returned and looked up. “Are there still good papers…”

The person wasn’t Jiang Chiyu.

It was a girl.

The girl wore a pearl headband, her long black hair cascading down her back. She wasn’t wearing a uniform, but a white baby doll collar dress. She had a delicate and pretty appearance, like a porcelain doll.

But her tone was a bit malicious: “You’re Su Tian?”

Su Tian’s hands slowed as she packed her books. After searching her mind and confirming she didn’t know her, she nodded. “And you are?”

“I’m Zhao Yingxue, from Class 2 next door.” Zhao Yingxue looked the uniformed girl up and down in front of her.

For a moment, Su Tian felt this name was a bit familiar, but couldn’t recall who it was.

“I ranked first in the grade on last month’s exams.” Zhao Yingxue said lightly.

Her voice was a bit sharp and thin, making people feel uncomfortable listening to it.

But because of what she said, Su Tian did remember. Zhao Yingxue seemed to be their grade’s top student, always in the top three.

Su Tian had seen her name on the grade rankings list.

Su Tian didn’t understand why she came looking for her.

“Is there something you need?” Su Tian asked politely yet distantly.

Zhao Yingxue pursed her lips and paused for a second. “Senior Song Yingjing’s humanities notes, they’re with you right?”

This matter wasn’t deliberately kept secret. Although Su Tian didn’t know how she found out, she still nodded.

“Can you lend me his notes?” Zhao Yingxue looked at her.

Su Tian froze for a moment and glanced at her bulging schoolbag where she had just put the few notebooks.

“I’m sorry.” She looked back at Zhao Yingxue. “I’m using them recently. You can ask to borrow from Song Yingjing after I’m done with them.”

Zhao Yingxue brushed back the hair behind her ear, revealing a delicate little ear, the diamond stud earring on her earlobe sparkling.

It inexplicably felt a bit oppressive.

“Can’t you lend them to me first to look at?” Zhao Yingxue blinked innocently. “The joint exam at the end of the month is very important for me.”

Su Tian felt a strange premonition arise in her heart. She felt the following conversation might not be too friendly. This Zhao Yingxue’s tone was really quite…annoying.

She shook her head. “I can’t. The joint exam is very important for me too.”

“Aren’t you ranked in the 300s in the grade?” Zhao Yingxue blurted out, not feeling there was anything wrong with her words at all. “These few notebooks will at most allow you to improve a bit. But letting me look at them first is different. It’s a matter of whether I can maintain first in the grade or not.”

Su Tian’s gaze toward her gradually turned strange.

She felt that the two of them definitely wouldn’t be able to see eye to eye. So she shifted her gaze and continued stuffing things into her schoolbag, her tone also turning colder. “I’m sorry. Go ask Senior Song Yingjing to borrow them. It’s his stuff. If he tells me to give them to you first, then you can come find me again.”

Zhao Yingxue: “He agreed.”

Su Tian’s movements halted.

Zhao Yingxue continued: “My older brother is Senior Song Yingjing’s classmate. I already told my brother.”

Su Tian didn’t understand the logic in that. “…What does this have to do with your brother?”

What use is it for you to tell your brother?

Song Yingjing isn’t your sister-in-law.

Su Tian silently grumbled in her heart.

Zhao Yingxue didn’t know what she was thinking and very naturally said, “Because my brother is friends with him. He’ll definitely prioritize lending the notes to me.”

Su Tian laughed and shook her head.

To say such a thing, she probably had never even met Song Yingjing.

Besides, even if comparing connections, she was closer to Song Yingjing…

After a while, she looked at Zhao Yingxue again. “Even if I let you look first, you still won’t be first in the grade on the joint exam.”

Because someone had already reserved it in advance.

The two parted on bad terms.

Only then did Jiang Chiyu leisurely return to his seat. “I didn’t expect you to have so much faith in me.”

Su Tian had only said that to refute Zhao Yingxue. Now that Jiang Chiyu directly pointed out she was talking about him, she belatedly felt her face heat up a little.

She tried to act calm. “I meant, there’s a lot of talent in our grade. She might not be so lucky to get first place again.”

“Is that so?” Jiang Chiyu had a half-smile on his face.

He only said those three words without continuing.
