Chapter 29 I Quit!
“Let me in! Let me see who it is! I’m just a small fry; why is someone targeting me?”
Furious, Gu Qinshan charged towards the office, only to be stopped by two burly security guards. His arms were twisted behind his back, completely overpowered.
Gu Congshuang rushed over, her hat falling off,
revealing her long, beautiful hair.
“Dad, what are you doing?” Gu Congshuang was bewildered.
“I’m being bullied! Help me!”
“Let me go! I want to see the chairman!”
A guard said, “Sorry, the chairman doesn’t want to see Gu Qinshan.”
“Cowards!”
Seeing he couldn’t force his way in, Gu Qinshan broke free from the guards.
In a fit of rage, he threw his cleaning uniform on the ground and stomped on it.
His face was red, like he’d drunk several glasses of cheap liquor.
“I quit this lousy job!”
“Daughter, let’s go home. Forget about that 1000 yuan.” Gu Qinshan dragged Gu Congshuang away.
Gu Congshuang tried to protest. What was going on? She was confused.
“Go home first; I’ll go see the chairman. Maybe it’s a misunderstanding.”
“What misunderstanding? I’m the only one transferred to clean toilets, and he made you his driver. He’s humiliating you. Let’s go home; take off that uniform.”
Gu Congshuang couldn’t argue and went home with her father.
Soon, they received a call from Sister Luo.
“What happened? Why did you leave? Director Mo needs a driver to meet a client.”
Before Gu Congshuang could explain, Gu Qinshan snatched the phone, “Your Director Mo is no good. I won’t let my daughter work for you. Keep your 1000 yuan.”
Sister Luo was confused. She tried to persuade him, “This job is good. Breaking the contract means paying 3000 yuan, as stated in the contract. You don’t want a 3000 yuan debt.”
“You’re in cahoots! Extortionists! Dream on! My son-in-law is General Ye Chuan’s son!” Gu Qinshan hung up angrily.
Gu Qinshan explained everything, seething with anger, “It must be an enemy of the Ye family; otherwise, I wouldn’t be laid off. Tell the Ye family what happened and see if they can find me a better job.”
Gu Qinshan’s confidence stemmed from the Ye family’s support.
Gu Congshuang understood the situation. Director Mo didn’t seem like Ye Chuan’s enemy but their families. Who could it be?
A powerful enemy?
Things were getting serious.
Sister Luo, after the call, reported to Director Mo, “They won’t come. What should we do?”
“Hire some thugs to vandalize their house and demand the money,” Director Mo said nonchalantly.
“If the Ye family finds out, we’ll suffer.”
“Debts must be repaid. The Ye family can’t do anything; they’ll pay the 3000 yuan. I want to show the Ye family that the Gu family has no value.”
Sister Luo was shocked. Director Mo had ulterior motives.
“Offending the Ye family isn’t good.”
“Don’t worry. If they investigate, say they used their connections to get Gu Congshuang her license. Even General Ye Chuan’s reputation will be damaged.”
A clever plan.
Director Mo, used to Southeast Asian tactics, was ruthless.
She didn’t understand why the Gu and Ye families had angered him.
But remembering his methods against disobedient businessmen,
Sister Luo felt a chill.
“Knowing this, why not act?” Director Mo smirked.
Sister Luo, being his subordinate, immediately arranged it.
The next morning, Gu Qinshan went to the Ye family to complain.
He was shocked to see his front door vandalized with red paint and the words “Repay debt.”
The stairs were covered in red paint and the words:
“Don’t repay, you’re a bastard! Don’t repay, your descendants will suffer!”
Gu Qinshan, overwhelmed, clutched the doorframe and fainted.
His fall startled Li Yuqin.
She rushed out, seeing the vandalism and screaming.
“Call an ambulance!”
Gu Qinshan was hospitalized after being frightened by the debt collectors, nearly suffering a stroke. He recovered but had slight facial paralysis.
He was hospitalized for observation.
Sister Luo reported this to Director Mo.
Sister Luo was worried, “We just wanted to scare them, but Gu Qinshan is frail. If the Ye family finds out, we’ll be in trouble.”
“Don’t worry. His son is at war, and he’s retired and powerless. People forget about retired officials. Continue to intimidate them and get the 3000 yuan.”
Sister Luo had no choice. She’d promised Gu Congshuang there would be no problems.
Now, she couldn’t bring herself to demand payment and had her subordinates call Gu Congshuang.
Gu Congshuang was at the hospital; no one answered the phone at home. Ye Bei was also worried.
He called repeatedly, but no one answered.
He wanted to rush to Gu Congshuang to see what happened.
His officers were waiting impatiently and started cursing.
