Wedding Photo
But he liked it.
Yu Cheng was feeling a whirlwind of emotions, his face flushed, and countless images flashed through his mind.
“Sir, your dishes have arrived.”
Qin Chaochen was eating happily, while Yu Cheng’s mind was elsewhere. He absentmindedly picked up some food and stuffed it into his mouth, his heart full of anticipation for tomorrow. Indeed, tomorrow would be better.
Yu Cheng suddenly thought of a saying: you never know if tomorrow or an accident will come first.
“Please pack these pastries.” Qin Chaochen wanted to take some for Fu Quezhi and Qin Shu to try. After all, he was a good man.
“Young Master Qin, if it’s not enough, you can just order more.” Yu Cheng smiled broadly, willing to fulfill all of Qin Chaochen’s reasonable and unreasonable requests.
“I’m taking them for Fu Quezhi and my son.”
Hearing this, Yu Cheng admired him even more. Qin Chaochen went to great lengths to maintain his image, working harder than anyone else in their circle. If it weren’t for today’s coincidence, everyone would think he was a good man.
Yu Cheng took out his phone. “Young Master Qin, let’s add each other on WeChat.”
Qin Chaochen glanced at Yu Cheng.
Only then did he notice that his WeChat profile picture was actually a photo of Fu Quezhi from his youth. He was still used to using QQ, and had been chatting with He Ze on QQ these past few days.
Yu Cheng’s gaze became even more meaningful.
With a sense of camaraderie, he patted Qin Chaochen’s shoulder. “From now on, we’re brothers. Your business is my business, and your wife is my… brother’s.”
He almost slipped up.
Luckily, he corrected himself quickly. He was really something.
Just playing a game makes us brothers? Qin Chaochen nodded but didn’t take Yu Cheng’s words to heart. However, he started to doubt what He Ze had told him about Yu Cheng, as the Yu Cheng he met seemed like a different person.
According to He Ze, Yu Cheng was a scumbag who liked to mess with married men, a butterfly flitting among men. He warned Qin Chaochen not to get too close to him, or he would end up losing both his wife and his army, in a physical sense.
He Ze said this with such seriousness, as if he had experienced it himself.
He even added, “I’ve eaten more salt than you’ve walked roads,” fearing Qin Chaochen wouldn’t believe him.
That made Qin Chaochen even more skeptical, and he rolled his eyes.
Yu Cheng was just a bit pitiful.
A little pitiful.
“Good brother, see you tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it.” Yu Cheng cheerfully saw Qin Chaochen off, feeling refreshed.
He couldn’t wait for tomorrow to come.
Qin Chaochen left the restaurant with the pastries, feeling that Yu Cheng’s final smile was a bit strange. He couldn’t pinpoint what was odd, but it was definitely strange.
Could it be that no one played Crazy Kart with him, and he went a bit crazy?
It was said that Yu Cheng wasn’t very popular in their circle, and people didn’t seem to like being friends with him.
“Chaochen? You’re here too.”
Qin Chaochen looked up and met Fu Zhao’s gentle gaze. He was wearing a white suit, having just come out of the restaurant. Next to him was a tall, handsome man who frowned slightly upon seeing Qin Chaochen.
Gu Yunzhou had finally managed to get a date with Fu Zhao. In the restaurant, he had hinted at wanting to be with Fu Zhao, but Fu Zhao kept things ambiguous, saying his current task was to achieve something to show Fu Changtian and secure his position as the heir of Fu’s.
Gu Yunzhou wasn’t an ordinary person. He admired Fu Zhao’s dedication to his career, finding him dazzling, unlike the ordinary people who couldn’t compare to Fu Zhao.
Moreover, Fu Zhao had extraordinary talent in 3D technology, and the Fu’s Technology Company he managed was highly praised in the industry.
Having such a partner would earn him a lot of face in their circle.
Gu Yunzhou knew a bit about Qin Chaochen, who was just a second-generation rich kid. All of Qin Family’s businesses were in Qin Yuanshen’s hands, and Qin Chaochen had no chance to get involved.
“Young Master Qin,” Gu Yunzhou said coldly.
Qin Chaochen didn’t know Gu Yunzhou, so he nodded politely. “Hello.” He was about to leave with the pastries.
“Chaochen, this is Mr. Gu from Gu’s, Gu Yunzhou.” Fu Zhao quickly introduced. “I drove here, let me take you back.”
“No need, I can go back myself.” Qin Chaochen was a bit shaken by the name Gu Yunzhou. This was the male lead Fu Quezhi loved deeply, someone he wouldn’t hurt no matter what.
“It’s fine, I have nothing else to do.” Fu Zhao insisted on taking Qin Chaochen back. Gu Yunzhou felt a bit sorry for Fu Zhao seeing how he treated Qin Chaochen.
“Young Master Qin, let us give you a ride. It’s hard to get a cab at this time.” Gu Yunzhou said with a cold face.
Qin Chaochen sat in the back seat with the pastries, texting Fu Quezhi.
[I’m in Fu Zhao’s car.]
It took a few minutes for the reply to come: [It’s fine, he won’t do anything to you.]
Qin Chaochen cautiously probed: [He’s with a man named Gu Yunzhou.]
This time, there was no response from Fu Quezhi even after Qin Chaochen reached the apartment. He stared at his phone for a long time.
“Can I come in for a glass of water?” Fu Zhao teased.
Qin Chaochen: “Wait a moment.”
Qin Chaochen went into the apartment and took out two glasses of watermelon juice from the fridge.
“Here you go.” Qin Chaochen handed the watermelon juice to Fu Zhao and Gu Yunzhou. With the juice given, there was no reason for them to come in. He did a great job.
Fu Zhao: “…”
Fu Zhao smiled as he took the watermelon juice. “You and Shu Shu should be careful of the heat. It’s been really hot lately.” Fu Zhao’s words were true, but the two men present had subtle changes in their expressions.
The recent weather was indeed hot, and air conditioning would cost a lot. He couldn’t be a spendthrift; he needed to earn money and not let Fu Quezhi work hard alone outside.
So “You and Shu Shu should be careful of the heat, it’s been really hot lately.” = “People should be careful of the heat, air conditioning is expensive.” = “Fu Quezhi should be careful of the heat, don’t let him work too hard.” = “Fu Quezhi needs care, needs to be lifted high.”
“You reminded me, I should be nicer to Fu Quezhi.” Qin Chaochen said seriously.
Only those who live day by day know how hard it is to achieve happiness. Tea, rice, oil, and salt all cost money, and Fu Quezhi working in the heat was too hard. Seeing Fu Zhao’s confused look, Qin Chaochen understood.
This time, Qin Chaochen was on the fifth level.
Fu Zhao: “…”
What does this have to do with Fu Quezhi? Fu Zhao began to doubt his own words, recalling that he hadn’t mentioned Fu Quezhi at all. He swore he hadn’t said a single “Fu.”
“Fu Zhao has sent him home, let’s go.” Gu Yunzhou held the watermelon juice, unsure whether to keep it or throw it away. After all, Qin Chaochen had run into the apartment and back out to bring the juice, so he couldn’t just refuse it.
Gu Yunzhou reluctantly drank the watermelon juice.
Qin Chaochen watched eagerly, and when Gu Yunzhou glanced over, Qin Chaochen quickly looked away. Gu Yunzhou frowned.
What a pity, he should have given them a bottle of mineral water.
Fu Zhao wanted to say something, but seeing Qin Chaochen’s handsome face, his heart softened. He remembered the first time he met Qin Chaochen and didn’t want him to stand in the sun.
“We’ll head back now.”
Qin Chaochen agreed wholeheartedly.
As soon as the car started, Qin Chaochen was gone in a flash.
Gu Yunzhou drove the car, and they hadn’t gone far when Fu Zhao turned to look back, only to find no one there.
Fu Zhao: “…”
*
Fu Quezhi was in a meeting, glancing at his phone with a guilty conscience, seeing the name Gu Yunzhou. Gu Yunzhou was the heir of the Gu family and seemed to be pursuing Fu Zhao recently.
Fu Quezhi typed: [He’s not important.]
Qin Chaochen heard his phone buzz, opened it, and saw Fu Quezhi’s reply, feeling a small surge of joy.
[You’re busy this late?]
Looking up at the serious conference room, Fu Quezhi secretly typed under the table, a hint of a smile in his eyes.
[In a meeting.]
Qin Chaochen didn’t want to disturb Fu Quezhi’s meeting. He was an adult and just sent a message.
[Then work hard.]
Fu Quezhi: [Okay, remember to take care of yourself at home. When you sleep with the air conditioning on, remember to cover your stomach with a blanket, or you’ll catch a cold.]
Qin Chaochen immediately and guiltily placed a thin blanket over his abs.
[Just focus on your own work, I don’t need you to worry. I’m eighteen.]
Qin Chaochen sniffed, blushing as he sent the message.
Fu Quezhi: [I can’t help but care about you.]
Fu Quezhi seemed really nice.
Qin Chaochen couldn’t help but roll around on the bed, his ears turning red. The guest room bed was really soft. He suddenly had a thought: was the bed in the master bedroom even softer?
Qin Chaochen tiptoed out of the guest room.
“Mr. Qin, have some fruit platter.” Li Ma suddenly spoke up.
Qin Chaochen nearly sprinted a hundred meters. “Thank you, Li Ma.” His heart was about to leap out.
He hadn’t yet seen the master bedroom since he returned.
Li Ma was cleaning the living room, and Qin Chaochen absentmindedly ate the fruit platter.
Finally, the opportunity came. Li Ma went outside to trim the flowers. Nowadays, even being a housekeeper required multiple skills. Work was really hard, and Qin Chaochen sighed deeply.
He immediately slipped into the master bedroom as an unknown person.
The first glance inside the master bedroom nearly blinded Qin Chaochen’s pure gold 4K eyes with the huge wedding photo on the wall.
The wedding photo featured two men. Qin Chaochen looked at himself in a suit, holding Fu Quezhi’s waist. Both had deep, handsome faces with smiles, truly a match made in heaven.
Truly a man on top of a man.
Qin Chaochen’s first thought: I’m really handsome.
Fu Quezhi was just a little bit less so.
Qin Chaochen carefully examined the wedding photo, from top to bottom, left to right, feeling a strange, sour, and swelling sensation in his heart, which pounded as if something had hit it.
Qin Chaochen, as if possessed, called out a name.
“Fu Quezhi.”
In the wedding photo, Fu Quezhi’s usually cold face was smiling, his eyes full of affection and love.
Qin Chaochen eagerly tried to identify the scene in the wedding photo. It seemed to be in a tropical forest, with tall, lush trees nearby. The two were closely snuggled together, the atmosphere ambiguous and charged with hormonal tension.
Qin Chaochen’s knees went weak, his face flushed as he blinked away tears, feeling the blood vessels in his throat throbbing.
