Ambiguity
Fu Quezhi gently placed a hand on Qin Chaochen’s shoulder. Qin Chaochen shivered slightly but didn’t refuse. Fu Quezhi took it a step further, but still kept a sense of propriety. He covered Qin Chaochen’s lips with his own, prying open his mouth. Qin Chaochen blushed, his eyes seemed to glisten with moisture, hanging delicately on his long eyelashes. His hands awkwardly clenched the hem of his clothes.
“Gentlemen, we’re home,” the driver’s voice came from the front. The voice seemed to come from the horizon, and Qin Chaochen abruptly pushed Fu Quezhi away. He suppressed his heavy breathing, opened the car door, and fled in a panic.
Fu Quezhi straightened his slightly wrinkled clothes and also stepped out of the car. His cool face was tinged with a captivating blush. He pressed his tongue against his teeth, as if he could still taste the freshness in his mouth.
Qin Chaochen closed the guest room door once again, his ears burning red as he leaned against the door, deep in thought. When Fu Quezhi entered, he didn’t see Qin Chaochen. His gaze fell on the guest room, and he took off his jacket, revealing the smooth lines of his muscles. He also felt a bit hot.
When Qin Chaochen opened the car door, Fu Quezhi saw his flushed earlobes and really wanted to take a nibble. Qin Chaochen might cry, Fu Quezhi thought, and the desire in his heart gave him a somewhat dreamy allure. He liked watching Qin Chaochen cry.
No way, no way, did I really not refuse Fu Quezhi?! Qin Chaochen was still muddled, pondering this simple question, while someone else had already taken a spaceship to the stars. And Qin Chaochen was at most a baby stroller.
Qin Chaochen sat on the floor, quietly thinking. He touched his lips, vaguely remembering that this wasn’t the first kiss. He had kissed Fu Quezhi in the cinema, and there was also a good morning kiss with Fu Quezhi, both initiated by him. This was the first kiss initiated by Fu Quezhi that wasn’t rejected.
The summer heat was even more intense, and Qin Chaochen’s face was red, his eyes watery. Whenever he thought of Fu Quezhi, his mind would… Stop thinking!!!
“Qin Dad, it’s time to eat,” Qin Shu knocked on the guest room door.
“Okay, I’m coming,” Qin Chaochen realized he had been sitting on the floor for an hour.
Qin Chaochen kept his eyes straight ahead, sitting at the dining table to eat. “By the way, our family is rich too, so why is our apartment so small?” Qin Chaochen voiced his confusion. Fu Quezhi has a company, and so do I. We can’t be broke!
Damn, I was tricked by Fu Quezhi from the start. Fu Quezhi said, “I’ll tell you after dinner.”
Qin Chaochen angrily stuffed a piece of braised pork into his mouth.
“Come up here,” Fu Quezhi stood on a staircase.
Qin Chaochen: “…”
The staircase led to the ceiling, and Qin Chaochen was questioning his life. Fu Quezhi took out a key and opened the passage. He calmly said, “The three floors here are all our home; we just like to hang out on this floor.”
Qin Chaochen: “!!!”
Who came up with this ridiculous idea? Fu Quezhi thought for a moment, “By the way, you were the one who insisted on buying this house.”
Qin Chaochen’s face was burning. He said angrily, “I want to go up and take a look.”
“Be my guest,” Fu Quezhi walked up the stairs.
“This floor mostly belongs to Shushu; his toys are on this floor.”
“You’re spoiling him too much,” Qin Chaochen said incredulously. “An entire floor for toys? I never had such treatment when I was a kid.”
Fu Quezhi chuckled, “The top floor is our private space.”
Qin Chaochen muttered, “Then we’re pretty awesome too.”
This entire floor was like a toy city. Qin Chaochen casually picked up a giant black bear and followed Fu Quezhi to the third floor.
Fu Quezhi said, “The soundproofing on this floor is excellent, and the windows are floor-to-ceiling single-pane glass.”
Qin Chaochen curiously looked around the floor. The kitchen and bedroom were fully equipped, and there was even a swimming pool above. Wow, so the swimming pool is up here.
This floor, which belonged to the two of them, had walls covered with photo frames. The colorful frames were hung in a clever way, making them pleasing to the eye. Qin Chaochen couldn’t help but step forward to look.
He saw a photo of himself as a child, when he was eight and went to Hawaii. His skin got tanned, and his mother complained, saying she wouldn’t take him again. Qin Chaochen cried loudly, and his mother reluctantly agreed to take him on future trips.
“This photo is here too,” Qin Chaochen touched the frame. He looked through them one by one: three-year-old him smiling with a stuffed toy; six-year-old him in a suit, tugging on Qin Yuanshen’s sleeve, looking pitifully at the camera; twelve-year-old him holding a remote-controlled airplane, wearing a stylish hat, with a bright smile.
Sixteen-year-old him holding a book, glancing at the camera with peach blossom eyes like a breeze over a lake, reflecting beautiful light. The young man was carefree, seemingly just back from gym class, with sweat rolling down his chin.
Qin Chaochen finally found Fu Quezhi in the corner of one photo, expressionless. At the door, holding their class’s homework, because they were in brother classes, Fu Quezhi would sometimes help carry the homework.
“Hahaha, your expression never changes,” Qin Chaochen laughed, speaking to Fu Quezhi.
Fu Quezhi glanced at it, stunned. How did Qin Chaochen find him in such a small corner?
Qin Chaochen finally found photos of him and Fu Quezhi together, including their graduation photo.
“Wow, I’m really handsome,” Qin Chaochen said proudly to Fu Quezhi.
Fu Quezhi chuckled, “Vain.”
Qin Chaochen was so angry he could explode on the spot!!! His looks were his pride, and Fu Quezhi didn’t appreciate them.
Qin Chaochen took a step closer, declaring, “I’m not only good-looking, but I also have a great body. I’m the best at everything.”
Fu Quezhi was indifferent, “Oh.”
Qin Chaochen was frustrated by Fu Quezhi’s attitude. How could he not be? Except for being a bit afraid of pain and not having the best grades, but still a 211! He desperately wanted to prove himself, “I’ve always been the school heartthrob.”
Fu Quezhi countered, “I was always the school heartthrob too.”
That’s right, Qin Chaochen and Fu Quezhi attended the same school, which had two heartthrobs because they were equally matched.
“Look at my great body,” Qin Chaochen pointed to a swimming photo on the wall.
“I’m not bad either,” Fu Quezhi’s face remained calm, but his heart raced as he glanced at Qin Chaochen’s sleek body in just swim trunks.
Qin Chaochen’s temper flared, determined to outdo Fu Quezhi.
“I was the jump rope champion.”
Fu Quezhi: “The next year’s jump rope champion was me.”
“My chemistry experiment was selected as a masterpiece.”
Fu Quezhi kept up, “There wasn’t just one masterpiece; I was one too.”
Qin Chaochen could spit blood three feet away. He saw the subtle pride in Fu Quezhi’s calm eyes. He had to take him down a peg.
In a moment of heat, seeing Fu Quezhi’s tall figure, he blurted out proudly, “I have a wife, do you?”
Fu Quezhi was momentarily stunned, not reacting immediately, his ears secretly reddening in his messy black hair. Seeing Qin Chaochen’s smug look.
“Counterpoint, I have a husband, do you?”
How could this be? Qin Chaochen almost jumped up, his ears quietly turning red too.
The two exchanged a glance, their faces as red as monkey butts.
Qin Chaochen whispered, “Who do you say is your husband?”
Fu Quezhi: “Whoever asks is.”
Damn! This rival! Qin Chaochen thought.
