The Day She Got Married, The Crazy Young General Cried His Eyes Red. Chapter 16

Chapter 16

Shen’s voice trembled. “Young Marshal, Miss Ning went to the government office. She said she’s never been there before and wants to have a look around.”

Was that a good reason?

“Is she just bored?” Wei Liangchen was displeased. “Stall her for a while.”

Jin Ye took the opportunity to push him away and dragged her aching body to the bathroom.

She hissed several times in the ten steps she took.

Wei Liangchen pushed the door open. “Let me see?”

Jin Ye refused, her eyes filled with tears. “Get out.”

He pressed his strong hand against her, put her on the washbasin, almost turning her upside down, his eyes darkening. “It’s swollen.”

Jin Ye, filled with shame and anger, kicked him, but he dodged quickly and she missed.

Wei Liangchen grabbed her ankle and pulled her closer. “Don’t go to school, I’ll get you excused.”

The last time she was forced to scream, he couldn’t control himself for a moment.

“No. What if the Madam sends someone to the school?”

“She wouldn’t be so suspicious.”

Jinye insisted on going to school, so Wei Liangchen had to send a car to pick her up.  On the way downstairs, he half-carried her, and when they reached the bottom, he whispered in her ear, “I remember there’s a bottle of ointment in my room.  Go back and apply it after school.”

Jinye didn’t say anything.

When they reached the lobby, she suddenly burrowed into Wei Liangchen’s arms.  He thought she was reluctant to leave him and was about to smile, but then he couldn’t help but smile.

“Oh no, it’s Mrs. Liu.”

“The wife of the military officer?”

Jinye and he spoke almost at the same time.

Mrs. Liu was the wife of the military commander, and she couldn’t stand the accommodations at the official residence, so she had to go out and stay in a hotel.  She happened to be staying at the Baile Hotel.  She was used to getting up early and had gone down to have breakfast first, waiting downstairs for her husband.

It was too late to turn around now, because Mrs. Liu had already seen Wei Liangchen.  “Young—”

Mrs. Liu’s eyes widened.

Her gaze fell on the girl in his arms.

Fortunately, Jinye was wearing a military cloak.  She had used it to cover herself when she left the cinema last night and entered the hotel.  Mrs. Liu didn’t see her face, nor did she see the dress she was wearing.  All she saw was half of her fluffy back of her head.

But that was enough to be shocking.

Wei Liangchen was calm and composed, not cold or hot, just nodded his head and hurried past.

It made Mrs. Liu seem a little surprised.

Mrs. Liu quickly realized that it was normal for a young and vigorous young marshal to sleep with women.

Moreover, it was embarrassing for anyone to be caught spending the night with a girl in a hotel.

If she were sensible, she should pretend not to see anything.

Aha, she had actually caught them!

“What are you doing, standing there like a fool?” The military officer came down and pulled his wife.

Mrs. Liu smiled, “Is the Young Marshal getting married soon?”

“I heard he’s going on a blind date with the daughter of Governor Ning.”  This was mentioned in a casual conversation during yesterday’s meeting.

Mrs. Liu smiled again, “That’s it then.”

The times were changing so rapidly.  It had only been a dozen years since the Qing Dynasty fell, and young people today were becoming more and more open.  They were already spending the night in a hotel after a blind date.

However, maybe they were still afraid of gossip, so Miss Ning didn’t dare to show her true face.

Mrs. Liu looked at the young couple again.  They had already gotten into the car.

She smiled, “Go with me to get my hair done.  Mrs. Wei is inviting us to dinner at her house tonight.”

I heard it was also a welcome banquet for Governor Ning’s wife.

In the car, Jinye told Lao Zhang to drive faster.

She had always thought that Lao Zhang was Mrs. Wei’s man, but she didn’t expect him to have already defected to Wei Liangchen.  Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to hide it last night.

“But now Mrs. Liu has seen us, what should we do?”

Wei Liangchen helped her fix her hair.  Her hair was as black as silk and felt very comfortable to touch.  “What are you afraid of?  She didn’t see your face.”

“If Mrs. Liu mentions it to the Madam, the Madam will investigate and find out.”

“If she finds out, she finds out.”  His tone was light and airy.

Jinye’s heart skipped a beat.  She glared at him.  “How can that be?”

He chuckled and tightened his fingers slightly in her hair, asking back, “Why not?”

Although his lips were curled, his eyes were cold and piercing.

Jinye’s scalp tingled and her heart sank.  “To be your concubine?”

This was her biggest concern.

Not to mention that she was unwilling, Mrs. Wei wouldn’t agree either.  Mrs. Wei invested in her to get the maximum return.

Once Mrs. Wei found out that she had turned her back on her and hooked up with her son, she wouldn’t even be a concubine, she wouldn’t even have her life.

Seeing her frown, Wei Liangchen’s eyes became dark and eerie, very frightening.  “Heh, is it humiliating to be my concubine?  Whose beloved wife do you want to be?”

Jinye was angry and blurted out, “I don’t have a beloved—”

Before she could say “person,” she saw his pupils constrict suddenly and she stopped talking.

“Heh.”  Two seconds later, Wei Liangchen chuckled coldly again, his fingers leaving her hair.  His voice suddenly rose, “Stop the car!”

Lao Zhang was startled.  He slammed on the brakes and stopped by the side of the road.

Jinye almost hit her forehead on the front seat.  “What are you crazy about?”

“Get out.”  Wei Liangchen’s hand on the door handle was bulging with veins, as if he was about to break the handle.  “Go to school yourself.”

Jinye was pulled out of the car and stared dumbfounded as the car sped away.

Damn it, she wouldn’t take a rickshaw.

Jinye endured the discomfort and walked quickly.

The wind blew, and she didn’t know if it was sand that got in her eyes, but they were wet.

This man, Wei Liangchen, was always domineering.  He allowed himself to start fires, but he didn’t allow others to light lamps.  He put his heart elsewhere, but he demanded that her heart be with him.  He probably felt that she had said in front of him that she didn’t have a beloved, including him.

So he was angry.

Actually, she wasn’t completely indifferent to him.  Although this man was domineering and arrogant, they were sometimes very compatible, like at the cinema.  She just didn’t dare to like him too much.

For Xu Jinye, liking Wei Liangchen was like walking towards an abyss.  If a hundred meters down was deep love, she could only go down thirty meters, she couldn’t go down any further.

In the afternoon after school, Lao Zhang arrived particularly early.

He said that Mrs. Wei was having a small welcome banquet at home because Ning Xiujun’s mother had arrived, and several military commanders were coming to a meeting today.

They were asked to go home as soon as possible.
