The Day She Got Married, The Crazy Young General Cried His Eyes Red. Chapter 17

Chapter 17

After getting out of the car, Wei Jiaxin pulled her along in a mad dash. Jinye’s legs were still sore, and her expression was strained.

By this time, most of the guests had arrived. When she saw Mrs. Liu, her expression cracked even further.

“Amitabha Buddha, please don’t let the truth come out.”

Although it was a small banquet, it was still a scene of elegance and refinement, with fragrant clothes, clinking glasses, and dazzling lights.

General Zhou and Zhou Siwei were also present.

Mrs. Wei pushed her upstairs to change into a more beautiful dress.

This also indicated that Mrs. Wei and General Zhou both felt that they had a chance.

Jinye felt a little uneasy. How would Wei Liangchen handle this?

They had had a fight in the morning. Would he still care?

It didn’t matter if he didn’t. Zhou Siwei didn’t seem bad either.

As Jinye was walking up the stairs, she saw Ning Xiujun coming down with Wei Liangchen.

Ning Xiujun must have had a good night’s sleep, as she looked very energetic. She was wearing a red rose embroidered cheongsam with gold thread, and she had a pearl necklace and earrings, clearly trying to appeal to someone’s taste.

Ning Xiujun, tall and slender, had a flat chest, but the cheongsam perfectly concealed this flaw.  Combined with her tomboyish demeanor, she had a unique charm.

She and Wei Liangchen seemed quite a match.

Wei Liangchen never liked to wear suits.  He only wore a waistcoat over his shirt, and the thin fabric couldn’t hide his bulging muscles.  He exuded a strong, masculine aura, wild and unrestrained, with a disdainful gaze.

He didn’t even give her a glance.

He must still be angry.

“Second Brother, Miss Ning.” Jinye greeted them politely.

Ning Xiujun smiled sweetly and hooked her arm around Wei Liangchen’s.  “Little Jin is back.  You don’t look well.  Are you feeling unwell?”

She was indeed feeling unwell.  Jinye felt uncomfortable everywhere.

She couldn’t let anyone see it.  Just as she was about to say she was fine, she heard Wei Liangchen say, “What’s wrong with her?  She runs faster than a rabbit.”

Jinye twitched her lips.  Who was it who had thrown her out of the car halfway?

She had to run to catch the rickshaw so she wouldn’t be late.

Damn it.

Ning Xiujun looked at the siblings, who seemed to be at odds.  She thought she had been overthinking things earlier.  “If you’re bored, I’ll have Zhou Gongzi come up to keep you company.”

She was eager for them to get together.

Hopefully, they could settle the marriage tonight.

Jinye glanced at the man.  Seeing his face darken again, his eyes as if covered in frost, she finally didn’t dare to provoke him further.  “Thank you, but no need.”

She hurried upstairs.

Wei Liangchen brushed Ning Xiujun’s hand away.

He strode downstairs.

“Oh my, look how well-suited they are.”

An unknown lady exclaimed.

Downstairs, Mrs. Liu had a meaningful look on her face.  “The Young Marshal and Miss Ning are truly a perfect match!”

“Huicheng has beautiful mountains and rivers.  Mrs. Ning has raised a beautiful daughter.”

Mrs. Ning was a little embarrassed.  “You’re flattering us.  She’s just a little monkey, very mischievous.”

“Mother!” Ning Xiujun blushed.  She liked to fight and practice martial arts, and she was afraid that people would say she was rough.  She tugged at Mrs. Ning’s sleeve.  “What are you talking about?”

Mrs. Wei smiled gracefully.  “It’s okay.  Our Liangchen is also mischievous.  They’re a perfect match.”

It was rare to have such a considerate future mother-in-law.

Mrs. Liu laughed and asked, “Is the good news coming soon?  Don’t forget to send us an invitation.”

“Don’t tease me anymore.”  Ning Xiujun glanced at Wei Liangchen.  Seeing that he had already gone to the men’s side, she felt a little disappointed and forced a shy smile.

“What’s there to be shy about?”  Mrs. Liu thought she was embarrassed about the accidental encounter earlier.  She encouraged her, “Don’t worry, the Young Marshal is definitely a responsible good man.”

This was quite ambiguous.

It was as if something had already happened between them.

Ning Xiujun was stunned for a moment, her face even redder.  “I’m not going to talk to you anymore.  I’m going to greet the other uncles and aunts.”

“You’re so shy.”  Didn’t you seem thin-skinned when you were in a hotel room?  Mrs. Liu was even more certain that the girl was her.

Mrs. Wei was also stunned.  What did Mrs. Liu mean?

Did she know that her son had spent the night at the hospital last night?  Did she know what happened between them?

Seeing Mrs. Liu’s knowing look, she became even more suspicious.

Fortunately, there was no one else around to hear this conversation, otherwise it would be bad if it got out.  Seeing Mrs. Ning and Ning Xiujun walk away, she asked Mrs. Liu:

“Did you go to the hospital yesterday?”  General Liu was an old subordinate of the governor, and the two ladies were very familiar.

Mrs. Liu was a little confused.  “No, I didn’t.”

“Then what do you mean by responsible?  You can’t just say things like that.”

Mrs. Liu smiled.  “Your future mother-in-law must be eager for a grandson to be willing to admit it.”  This was a bit sarcastic, because she knew Mrs. Wei was always putting on a perfect wife act.

She secretly disliked Mrs. Wei and was happy to see her face crack.  She lowered her voice, “This morning at the Baile Hotel…”

After hearing this, Mrs. Wei’s face turned pale.  “What did you say!”

Mrs. Liu was even more satisfied.  “We’re not just anyone.  Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone.”  She smiled and went to talk to other wives of military officers.

Mrs. Wei felt a chill run from her head to her toes.

Liangchen spent the night with a woman in a hotel?

Although it wasn’t a big deal, after all, he was a young man full of vigor.  Even the son of General Long had a child who could already hold a gun.  But this was the first time for her son.

Everyone in the mansion knew that since Miss Ling went abroad, the Young Marshal hadn’t dated anyone, not even looked at a woman twice.  He actually spent the night with a woman in a hotel!

Moreover, it wasn’t Ning Xiujun, who was on a blind date with him!

Because Mrs. Wei was certain that Ning Xiujun had spent the night at the hospital.

Who could it be?

She was so skilled, she had captivated her son, defying his mother’s orders and sneaking off to meet her privately on the eve of his blind date with Ning Xiujun.

Mrs. Wei’s heart felt like it was being scratched by a cat.  She took a deep breath and went to find Mrs. Liu again.  “Did you see clearly?”

“I didn’t see clearly.  Miss Ning is very secretive.  The Young Marshal was protecting her, covering her up tightly.  Only half of her back of her head was showing.”

Mrs. Liu was convinced that it was Ning Xiujun.

Mrs. Wei remained composed.  “Besides me, don’t let a third person know about this.”

The key was not to let the Ning family know.  As for whether her son would take the woman as a concubine after they were married, or keep her outside, or make her disappear, that was a matter for the future.

Mrs. Liu privately disliked Mrs. Wei, but she was still afraid of her.  “Of course.”

Mrs. Wei turned around, her fingers clutching the wine glass turning white.

Which woman was it, who had secretly hooked up with her son?
