Chapter 21
Wei Liangchen put his hand on the door, blocking her path, “What, Miss Ning, are you trying to force your way in and sleep in my bed?”
The sudden outburst of anger made Ning Xiujun flinch and turn around angrily.
Jinye let out a sigh of relief, and then she heard the door close. A moment later, the bathroom door was knocked on, and Wei Liangchen teased, “Want to hide in there all night?”
Going downstairs now was definitely not an option. Jinye opened the door and came out, “You made her angry, aren’t you worried that Mrs. Wei will scold you?”
Wei Liangchen grabbed her, “If I didn’t make her angry, would you want to watch a live sex show?”
Jinye glared at him, this guy really could say anything.
“Are you jealous?” His eyes flashed, with black ripples rolling inside.
Those two hands that were pinching her waist felt like red-hot tongs. Jinye valued her life, so she nodded, “A little.”
The next moment, she gasped, “Ah!”
Wei Liangchen picked her up horizontally and threw her on the bed. Fortunately, the bed was a spring mattress, and Jinye bounced up a bit. Then she saw him press down, his breath filling her nostrils, “What are you doing?”
“Performing a live sex show.”
“You—there are guests downstairs waiting for you.” Jinye was really afraid he would go crazy. Not to mention her body, if someone else came up, her heart wouldn’t be able to take it.
Wei Liangchen looked at her lips, like plump, juicy cherries. He took a light bite, “Tsk, you’re so scared. Remember this, next time I’ll make it up to you, double.”
Jinye shivered.
He smiled happily, his lips pressed down again, he held her in his arms, kissing her until she couldn’t breathe. She had to push him away, “Then what are you going to do with Miss Ning?”
They both went on blind dates, but they were still like this. She felt increasingly guilty.
They were like shameless scumbags.
She was always on edge, she would get a heart attack sooner or later.
“What do you think?” Wei Liangchen was in no hurry, a slight smile on his lips, his black eyes shifting unpredictably.
“How would I know. What I say doesn’t count.”
“Tell me.” At this moment, he seemed patient, even a little tempting.
Unfortunately, Jinye wasn’t fooled. He snorted coldly, fortunately, he didn’t linger, nor did he say what he planned to do. He got up and let go of her, “Lie down for a while, Adjutant Shen will send you downstairs later.”
Before leaving, he even covered her with a blanket.
This guy, when he wants to coax you, he’s really good. It’s only when he’s going crazy that he’s scary.
But the problem is, you can never tell when he’s going to be nice and when he’s going to go crazy.
He had just thrown her out of the car, and now he was acting as if nothing had happened.
He was so unpredictable.
Jinye lay on the soft bed, surrounded by his scent, it was still his scent. A feeling of restlessness rose in her heart, her head was in a mess…
An hour later, she was finally able to safely go downstairs and return to her room.
The thrilling night was finally over.
But at the banquet, Ning Xiujun had been humiliated by Wei Yun and then sent away by Adjutant Shen. She was furious. The next day, Mrs. Wei asked Jiaqi and Jinye to take a day off and go shopping with her. They could buy whatever they wanted, no need to be frugal.
Ning Xiujun’s anger had subsided a bit.
Jinye noticed that she seemed particularly interested in perfume. They had been to several places, but she wasn’t satisfied with any of them.
“Do you have any gardenia perfume here?” Ning Xiujun asked the clerk.
After asking, her gaze swept over Jinye intentionally.
Jinye’s heart skipped a beat.
The perfume Wei Liangchen had given her last night, although she hadn’t sprayed it today, still had a faint lingering fragrance.
Was Ning Xiujun a dog?
Wei Jiaqi said, “If you want gardenia perfume, you should have said so earlier. I have some. My brother brought me a bottle.”
Ning Xiujun was startled, a little surprised, “Really? Last night…”
“My brother gave it to me last night. He brought it back from Haicheng. All the sisters have one.” Jiaqi laughed.
Ning Xiujun glanced at Jinye, seemingly without meaning, and smiled, “Oh, that’s how it is. No wonder they don’t sell it here.”
Was she overthinking it?
Jinye secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Then she thought, so everyone got a bottle.
But before she could completely relax, they passed the Baccarat Hotel, and Ning Xiujun paused, “Perhaps Mrs. Liu was talking about this.”
Jinye’s heart leapt again.
Was Ning Xiujun a detective? How could she be so perceptive?
She didn’t know that women would become like hunting dogs when it came to someone they liked and cared about, especially Ning Xiujun, who had been going to battle with her father since she was a teenager, and was more alert than others.
Meanwhile, at the Warlord’s Mansion.
Mrs. Wei waited for her husband and children to go to school and the office, and then called her confidante, Song Huai, “Go to the Baccarat Hotel and check if there are any records of the Young Marshal booking a room. Have you seen him going in and out with a woman, and who is that woman?”
Since he wanted to hide it, it was impossible to pry information from Adjutant Shen or anyone close to him.
Apart from her loyal guards and servants, she couldn’t ask anyone else in the mansion, lest she alert the snake.
“Also, send someone to watch the Young Marshal, but don’t get too close.”
“Yes, Madam.”
Jinye and Wei Jiaqi returned to the Warlord’s Mansion. They seemed to hear Mrs. Wei talking on the phone about “the Baccarat manager” or something, and their hearts skipped a beat.
Seeing them come back, Mrs. Wei said, “We’ll talk about it later.” Then she hung up the phone.
“You’re back so soon?” Mrs. Wei walked over with a smile, “What did you buy? Where’s Miss Ning?”
“She didn’t want to shop anymore, we had lunch and then left.” Wei Jiaqi was also tired, “Mom, why does our family have to curry favor with the Ning family? If you think about it, Dad is the governor of two provinces, his position is higher than that Ning Warlord.”
Mrs. Wei was a little annoyed, “How is it currying favor? They’re guests, we’re just being hospitable. Why are you complaining so much about doing a little thing?”
Wei Jiaqi pouted, “Anyway, don’t ask me next time. Let my brother go himself.”
“Your brother… what’s he been busy with lately?” Mrs. Wei’s eyes were like searchlights.
Jinye’s hand holding her bag tightened.
She saw Wei Jiaqi say, “Isn’t he at the office all day?”
“What about Little Jin? You went to the racetrack that day, and the banquet last night, did he reveal what he thinks of Miss Ning?”
Jinye tried to stay calm, “Second brother didn’t say anything, and I couldn’t tell either.”
Combining the fact that Mrs. Wei hung up the phone so hastily and came to look, she must have heard something and became suspicious. But Mrs. Wei’s gaze didn’t probe her, it was no different from usual, so she shouldn’t have suspected her.
But if she continued to investigate, it was a different story.
Jinye felt like a sword was hanging over her head.
She hoped Miss Ling would come back soon.
“Madam, can I go to school? I have one afternoon left, I don’t want to waste it.”
“Okay, go ahead.” Mrs. Wei thought that this child was really serious about her studies.
In the car, Jinye’s tense nerves finally relaxed a little. She asked Old Zhang, the driver, “Did Madam ask you anything?”
Old Zhang said no, but he saw the Madam call Song Huai and didn’t know what she told him. He had already told the Young Marshal.
Jinye suddenly felt like she was living like a spy.
In the office at the government building.
Adjutant Shen walked in, “Young Marshal, Madam indeed sent Song Huai to the Baccarat Hotel.”
Of course, because the room wasn’t booked in the Young Marshal’s name, the Madam could only know that the Young Marshal had been to the hotel, but she wouldn’t be able to find any evidence.
“My subordinate is afraid that at the cinema, there was a big scene at the time, maybe someone saw you, Young Marshal. That night, the third Miss also happened to go to the cinema. If the Madam compares the time, she might suspect the third Miss.”
Never underestimate a woman’s investigative ability in this area.
If they used this ability for good, how could they not accomplish great things?
Wei Liangchen tapped on the desk, his lips slightly pursed, clearly not very happy.
“…Young Marshal, what are you going to do? Should we just get engaged to Miss Ning to divert attention?” Adjutant Shen said cautiously.
Wei Liangchen glanced at him, “For such a trivial matter, do I need to sell myself?”
Adjutant Shen was startled, “…That’s true.”
It’s a trivial matter to you, but maybe the third Miss thinks it’s a big deal.
