Chapter 25
The next morning, she went to school again. She hadn’t seen anyone from night to morning.
However, Mrs. Wei quickly denied herself.
They had always been at odds, and they shouldn’t be involved with each other.
Besides, Xu Jinye was always well-behaved and sensible, how dare she?
The driver Old Zhang’s testimony was also fine, Old Zhang was her man.
The person tracking her son said that the Young Marshal hadn’t contacted any other women these days.
Of course, this could be because he had already noticed it.
“Why did the Young Marshal go out this time?”
The man, now dressed as a rickshaw puller, said, “The Young Master went to the cheongsam shop because the third Miss and the fifth Miss had a fight with Ling Shaomin.”
He told her what had happened.
“Oh?” Mrs. Wei listened, “It was clearly Miss Ling who bullied them first, but the Young Marshal still asked the master to make the cheongsam for her first.”
Mrs. Wei didn’t suspect that the woman was Ling Shaomin. Her son helping Ling Shaomin was actually helping Ling Xuewei.
It seems he still has feelings for Ling Xuewei.
The woman at the hotel was probably just an outlet for his energy, possibly from a humble background, even a courtesan, and she wasn’t a threat.
Besides, if he really liked someone, with the Young Marshal’s personality, he wouldn’t hide it.
She was overthinking it.
“Ling Xuewei will be back early next month?” There were only ten days left.
Compared to that, this was the bigger problem.
“Yes, Madam, Ling Shaomin said so.”
It seemed unlikely for Ning Xiujun.
Aunt Wei would be delighted this time.
But Mrs. Wei also disliked Wei Yun. Before Ling Xuewei returned, she had to make Ning Xiujun take the initiative and make an extra effort.
“Don’t follow the Young Marshal anymore. If you continue, it will damage our mother-son relationship.”
“Yes, Madam.”
Jinye came back after dinner, but it wasn’t very late, only a little past seven. The Warlord’s Mansion had just finished cleaning up the dishes, and Ning Xiujun was there.
She didn’t see Wei Liangchen.
“You’re back? Did you have fun with Zhou Siwei today?” Mrs. Wei asked kindly.
“It was okay.” Jinye said with a smile, and later it was really fun, “This is a yellow peach I picked from his friend’s orchard.”
Jinye placed the basket on the table. It was full of bright orange, plump, and fresh peaches. The leaves were still green and covered in water droplets, “They’re very sweet. Miss Ning, have some too.”
“Okay, I’ll wait for the Young Marshal to come back and eat them.” Ning Xiujun was distracted.
“This child, when she’s busy at the government building, she loses track of time.”
Jinye heard Mrs. Wei say as she went upstairs.
It seemed that Wei Liangchen hadn’t come back yet.
Thinking of what Zhou Siwei had said to her at the peach orchard today, Jinye’s heart was a little confused. She hadn’t agreed, but she hadn’t refused either.
His friends were also very enthusiastic, it was clear they weren’t being insincere. This blind date was indeed much better than the previous ones.
Jinye even thought, if she married him, she would probably be able to live a good life.
She opened the door.
The room was dark. She was about to turn on the light when she suddenly sensed something was wrong. She drew her pocket pistol, aiming it at the person, and she exclaimed, “You!”
Chen Ma happened to be passing by outside, and she asked, “Third Miss, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” Jinye was still shaken, “I don’t know where a cockroach came from, it scared me.”
To make it seem real, she actually stomped on it a couple of times.
“Oh.” Chen Ma didn’t think anything of it, little girls are all afraid of cockroaches.
Jinye quickly closed the door, and she saw Wei Liangchen sitting on his bed, his legs spread, his elbows resting on his knees. In the dim light, his outline was particularly deep and sharp, his eyes were gleaming with a faint light, like a wolf emerging from a mountain valley, ready to pounce and tear.
“You didn’t eat yellow peaches this afternoon, you ate a lion’s heart and a leopard’s gall, huh? You dare point a gun at me and say I’m a cockroach?”
His voice was like a muffled thunder before a rainstorm.
She could feel the anger about to burst from him, even from several meters away, yet he was holding it back.
Jinye didn’t want to see him, she lowered her voice, “Get out.”
She put the gun away and went to turn on the light. He shouted angrily, “Don’t turn it on.”
Jinye didn’t listen to him, she pulled the brightest one open.
He squinted his eyes, his teeth grinding, “You’re getting more and more capable.”
“Miss Ning is downstairs, get out.”
“I’m not leaving, come here.”
Jinye didn’t move. The veins on his forehead twitched. “Chen Ma—”
The next moment, Jinye pounced on him, covering his mouth.
He took the opportunity to press her down on the bed, holding her hands above her head.
Jinye’s hands were white and tender, her skin thin, and soon a red mark appeared where he pressed. She shouted angrily, “Get out!”
He didn’t listen, he freed one hand and went to pull at her clothes.
Jinye resisted. His eyes were dark as night. With a force, he tore off the two buttons on her side, seeing that her chest wasn’t red or swollen, the darkness in his eyes faded slightly.
“Ling Yuanzhou pushed you, why didn’t you tell me?”
Jinye sneered, “Didn’t Jiaxin say? You weren’t paying attention.”
“I’ll get revenge for you.”
“No need.” Jinye looked away, “I beg you to leave.”
Wei Liangchen’s eyes darkened again, “There’s a limit to how much you can act like a spoiled brat. It’s just two cheongsam dresses, why are you making a fuss about it?”
He looked down at her, blocking the light. His tall figure instantly engulfed her in shadows. His eyes were black and bottomless. He reached out a hand to turn her face, forcing her to look at him.
“Is it just about two cheongsam dresses?” Jinye’s eyes instantly filled with tears.
Wei Liangchen was startled. He leaned in and kissed her.
He kissed her hard, nibbling and biting, “Open your mouth.”
Jinye wouldn’t open her mouth, so he pinched her chin. She winced in pain, her jaw loosened, and his tongue invaded.
“Damn you…” Jinye kicked him, “Let me go.”
Unexpectedly, Chen Ma came back, knocking on the door, “Third Miss?”
Jinye’s heart skipped a beat. The man above her blocked her mouth again.
Chen Ma seemed to hear a muffled groan, followed by the sound of something bumping, and she called out again, “Third Miss, are you okay?”
To avoid Wei Liangchen, Jinye had bumped her head on the headboard. Fortunately, it was leather, so it didn’t hurt much. She finally had a chance to speak, “I’m fine! There’s another cockroach.”
She didn’t know where the courage came from, but Jinye headbutted Wei Liangchen’s nose. He dodged, his grip on her hand loosened. She threw a pillow at him, but he also dodged it, and it landed on the lamp on the dressing table opposite.
Bang!
Chen Ma muttered outside the door, “So many cockroaches, I have to go downstairs and get some cockroach medicine.”
Chen Ma went downstairs, searched for a while but couldn’t find any, so she had to go to the living room and ask Li Ma if she had any cockroach medicine. Mrs. Wei asked, “Which room needs cockroach medicine?”
“Third Miss’s room, she’s fighting cockroaches, it’s making a loud banging noise.”
Mrs. Wei was puzzled, “So many cockroaches? You’re killing cockroaches, why don’t you ask her to come down and play a few rounds with us? Xiujun is so boring.”
Ning Xiujun was indeed bored, “I’ll go upstairs and call her.”
In the room,
There were pillows, shoes, paper, clothes… everywhere.
Jinye had just rolled to the edge of the bed when he grabbed her ankle and pulled her back. The calluses on his palm made her spine tingle.
Finally, Wei Liangchen pressed Jinye down completely, chuckling coldly, “Having fun throwing things?”
Jinye was in his arms, her clothes half-undone, revealing her white and round shoulders.
“Be good, don’t make a fuss.” Wei Liangchen kissed her eye corner, her cheek, and then her lips, with a little more tenderness than before. Their lips met, indistinguishable from each other.
This bastard, he always uses this trick.
Jinye’s tongue and lips were numb from the kiss, but this time her mind was clear. She pushed him breathlessly, “I don’t want to do this anymore.”
“What did you say?” His eyes darkened.
“I said I don’t want to continue.”
“With Zhou Siwei?”
“No, with you.”
There was a sudden silence around them.
