Jinye quietly breathed a sigh of relief and asked Warlord Wei, “Uncle Wei, is the wound on your back of your hand healed?”

A few days ago, the warlord had somehow contracted a heat toxin, which caused his old wound to flare up, leaving two sores on the back of his hand.

Warlord Wei extended his hand. “There’s still some pus, but the doctor said it’s nothing serious.”

Jinye said, “I saw in a medical book that tung oil is very effective for this kind of suppurative inflammation. You can apply it externally to the affected area. Why don’t you try it?”

“Tung oil? I didn’t think of that.” Warlord Wei smiled. “Have someone buy some tomorrow.”

“We have some at home. Tung oil is abundant in the south, it’s easy to buy.” She vaguely remembered that tung oil would become an important wartime material. Major countries had a huge demand for it and were scrambling to get it, while Xia Kingdom had almost monopolized its production.

But she spoke very carefully, lest she reveal anything.

Seeing the slight, uncontrollable curve of her lips, Wei Liangchen slammed his chopsticks down on the plate, making a “snap” sound. “We’re so happy today, how can we not have some wine? Li Ma, bring me a bottle of red wine.”

Jinye didn’t know what he was going crazy about. She glanced at him, but he didn’t look at her, he looked at her elder brother. “Brother, you want some too?”

“I’ll pass, I have to go back to North City early tomorrow.” Wei Yanting said. “Next time.”

Wei Liangchen laughed again. “No wonder, I said why there’s no wine on the table, it turns out Big Brother doesn’t drink, so we don’t get to drink either.”

This childish fool, Jinye silently muttered to herself.

In front of his elder brother, Wei Liangchen’s IQ sometimes suddenly dropped to three years old, no more.

Mrs. Wei couldn’t help but glare at him. “If you want to drink, no one will stop you. Besides, you’re not young anymore, you should get married. Ning Commander’s daughter is not bad, she just happened to come to Su City, you two should meet tomorrow.”

“I don’t mind.” Wei Yanting said lightly.

Mrs. Wei glared at him. “Your brother is your brother, you are you. I’ve already made an appointment with Miss Ning, we’ll meet at our horse farm tomorrow, you have to go, even if you don’t want to.”

Mrs. Wei was just as strong as the warlord when she was assertive. Wei Liangchen’s gaze swept across the room, then his lips curled into a smile. “Okay, I’ll go.”

Jinye silently lowered her head to eat.

They were together, just taking what they needed from each other. So, she wasn’t surprised at all that he would go on blind dates with other women, even get engaged, get married. Just like one day, she would also get married.

Mrs. Wei’s eyelids twitched as she looked at her son’s expression. “Your father and I are serious, don’t pull any tricks.”

“No tricks.” Wei Liangchen suddenly looked at Jinye. “Little Jin, you don’t have class tomorrow, Sunday, come and help your second brother out?”

Unexpectedly, Jinye almost choked. She looked up into his dark eyes and the mischievous smile on his lips, her scalp tingled, and she almost immediately said, “I have to go to the hospital to see my aunt.”

“You can ask Jiaqi to accompany you.” He didn’t lie, she went to the hospital every weekend, and even on weekdays if she didn’t have many classes.

There was a hint of threat in his voice.

“Actually, Second Brother isn’t in a hurry to go on a blind date.” Suddenly, Wei Yanting said.

Mrs. Wei: “What Yanting means is…”

“I heard that Miss Ling is coming back to the country.”

Suddenly, there was a moment of silence around them.

Jinye looked at Wei Liangchen, seeing his eye twitch, his gaze dark and unclear, and his fingers gripping the chopsticks with prominent veins.

Jinye thought, sure enough, Miss Ling was the one who could truly affect his emotions.

Silence was the bridge of tonight.

Everyone quietly looked at him.

Mrs. Wei broke the silence. “She’s coming back? Who did you hear it from?”

“Her father, Commander Ling, said that Miss Ling has been studying abroad for three years, she has already obtained her master’s degree, and she wants to return to China to develop her career.” Wei Yanting’s tone was still his usual calm.

“Is that so… she’s not married yet?”

“Single, Commander Ling emphasized that point.”

Mrs. Wei looked at Wei Liangchen with a meaningful glance. “Then what about Miss Ning, maybe we should…”

“Meet, why not meet, we’ve already made an appointment, how can a gentleman like me stand up a lady?” Wei Liangchen returned to his playful smile.

He really made it sound like he meant it. Don’t even talk about standing up a lady, he even beat up girls. Before, at school, Jinye was surrounded by female classmates because of her burden status, she had seen him personally throw them a few meters away, one by one.

“Then go.” Mrs. Wei was naturally happy to have another option. Although Commander Ling was prominent, the Ning family was also an important alliance that Warlord Wei wanted to win over.

“Since Jinye will be going too, why not arrange a blind date for her as well.” Mrs. Wei was really good at taking advantage of opportunities.
