The Days of Raising a Baby with My Socially Anxious Husband
The Days of Raising a Baby with My Socially Anxious Husband Chapter 6

Chapter 6

Thus, the remaining succulents became Jiang Zhe’s responsibility. Every day, he took care of them as if he had given them some miraculous revitalizing potion. The succulents that Jiang Yu had almost killed suddenly thrived again. Sometimes, when Jiang Yu went to the balcony to check on them or felt the urge to do something with them, she would see Jiang Zhe standing there in a neat white shirt, quietly watching her. Knowing her hands would only cause trouble, she would immediately raise her hands and say honestly, “I didn’t do anything.”

Jiang Yu always felt he wanted to say something, but in the end, he said nothing, simply looked at her before turning to leave.

His silent comings and goings felt ghostly.

When she saw him go to the kitchen to grab a bottle of water, she stuck out her tongue, relieved.

After taking another look at her flourishing succulents and then at her restless hands, she quickly put them down and slipped back to her room.

Half a month had passed, and the succulents were thriving. Jiang Yu felt the balcony was a bit too empty, so during dinner, she suggested to Jiang Zhe, “Jiang Zhe, I think the balcony is really empty. How about we get some other flowers?”

Jiang Zhe glanced at her, his lips slightly parting as he spoke, his voice smooth as jade. “Control your evil thoughts.”

Jiang Yu was left speechless.

She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but deep down, she understood that if she couldn’t even take care of succulents, then taking care of flowers would undoubtedly fall to him.

Someone who couldn’t keep flowers alive had no right to suggest anything.

😭

Still not ready to give up, Jiang Yu said, “But I think it’d be nice to have some flowers to fill the empty space on the balcony.”

Jiang Zhe ignored her, calmly finishing his meal. Jiang Yu wanted to say more, but when she saw his expressionless face, she feared upsetting him and ended up saying nothing more.

Just when she thought the conversation was over, the next morning, Jiang Zhe knocked on her door. Jiang Yu had just woken up and rubbed her sleepy eyes as she opened the door, yawning, “What’s up?”

“Aren’t you the one who wanted to raise flowers? I’ll take you out to look for some.”

Jiang Yu had just been rejected the night before, and now he was saying he’d go flower shopping with her. Was she dreaming?

She pinched her arm, gasping at the pain. After confirming she wasn’t dreaming, she grinned widely. “Okay! Let me get ready, and then we can go!”

She went inside, leaving the door ajar, humming cheerfully like a little bird as she joyfully went to pick out clothes.

From the corner of the door, Jiang Zhe could see that Jiang Yu’s room was tidy and clean, giving off a warm feeling.

Previously, her room had been somewhat organized but not to this level of cleanliness. When he had tried to help her tidy things up back then, she had scolded him harshly. He had never seen her so cheerful before.

Back then, she was sharp, cold, and irritable towards him.

Could a person really change so much? It was as if she had transformed into someone entirely different.

After Jiang Yu picked out her outfit, she changed in the bathroom, only to find Jiang Zhe had already left the doorway.

Having lived under the same roof for so long, she was well aware of his habits. He spent most of his daytime in his study, so she went to knock on the study door. After hearing the man’s cold “Come in,” she pushed the door open.

This was her first time entering his study. The bookshelf was neatly arranged with many books. Jiang Yu glanced around and noticed there were mostly history, literature, finance, and computer science books.

The description of Jiang Zhe in the books didn’t reveal much. He often appeared when the male lead visited him, only coming to help when the male lead faced a crisis.

Of course, this marriage had caused some psychological harm to him, making him even less inclined to interact with people.

Using novel language to describe him, he was essentially a mysterious big shot.

However, the original owner didn’t know that the Jiang family’s conditions weren’t as good as the male lead’s family. Therefore, she felt she had been wronged marrying Jiang Zhe, even though he had a face more handsome than the male lead’s.

Jiang Zhe seemed to be busy with work, telling her, “Wait a moment.”

Then he lowered his head, quickly typing away at his keyboard.

With nothing to do and not daring to wander around, Jiang Yu stood at the door, glancing around before her gaze fell on him.

The man looked quite handsome when focused on his work, typing swiftly. She had no idea what he was working on.

Jiang Yu stood upright at the study door.

When Jiang Zhe finished, he noticed her standing there, obedient as if she were a primary school student.

He paused, looking at the nearby chair, and asked, “Why don’t you come in and sit?”

He had assumed she would find a place to sit, so he felt a strange, indescribable feeling when he saw her standing there for so long.

Jiang Yu explained, “It’s fine, I haven’t been waiting long. Just a bit.”

Jiang Zhe replied, “You used to not have that much patience to wait.”

Jiang Yu sensed a dangerous undertone in his words and quickly added, “Hehe, people can change! I feel like I have a lot more patience now. Maybe in the future, I’ll even have the patience to grow flowers and succulents!”

She thought her words were a bit too self-assured. When she looked at Jiang Zhe, she expected to see a disdainful expression, but his face remained calm. Yet, Jiang Yu felt that his lack of expression was even more overbearing than if he had shown any emotion.

So she forced herself to save face and proposed, “How about this, when we buy the flowers, let me take care of them for a while. If I can’t handle it, then can you take over?”

Jiang Yu felt this idea was brilliant.

Jiang Zhe responded, “That’s fine, but I doubt I have the ability to bring them back to life.”

Jiang Yu felt like she was being looked down upon.

What was worse was that his expression of disdain was completely emotionless.

It made her want to hit him!
