Chapter 30.1 Shu Qingyao decided to pull some strings for Xie Hezhang
They waited for about three or four hours.
The sunlight outside could now shine directly into the cave.
Shu Qingyao faintly heard voices coming from outside the cave.
It seemed like two rescuers were walking by above.
But they didn’t discover this hidden cave.
Shu Qingyao stood up and shouted towards the top, “Comrades, there’s someone here!”
Soon, the faint voices became clearer, and footsteps rushed towards the entrance of the cave.
The light from above was blocked, revealing a dark face.
It was Jin Zhuang.
Shu Qingyao and Jin Zhuang stared at each other.
Jin Zhuang widened his eyes, incredulously, “Shu Qingyao?”
“Xie Hezhang is here too.”
Shu Qingyao pulled Xie Hezhang over and said to Jin Zhuang, “Captain Jin, it’s great, I thought we’d have to wait until dark. Xie Hezhang and I are fine, you quickly find someone to pull us up.”
Soon, some rescuers lowered a rope ladder.
Xie Hezhang let Shu Qingyao go first, he followed behind.
Shu Qingyao didn’t hesitate, and climbed up the rope ladder first.
When she reached the entrance of the cave, she was pulled up by the militiamen.
Shu Qingyao came out of the cave and realized how remote this place was, surrounded by trees, the entrance was only half a meter wide, under the trees, if Jin Zhuang and another militiaman hadn’t passed by to go to the toilet, they might not have been rescued today.
Soon, Xie Hezhang was also pulled out.
Jin Zhuang frowned at Shu Qingyao, then looked at Xie Hezhang, who was covered in mud, and was a little unbelievable.
“How come you two are together? Don’t you know that the people in the logistics team have been looking for you like crazy!”
That was true.
The second small mudslide, although it didn’t cause too many casualties, except for Ruan Wenhui falling from the mountain and being seriously injured and unconscious, but Shu Qingyao, who went up the mountain with them, disappeared, and they couldn’t find her no matter how hard they looked, so they reported it to Jin Zhuang.
When Jin Zhuang heard that Shu Qingyao had disappeared on the mountain, he was also scared and rushed over to dig with the rescue team, but they couldn’t find her for the life of them.
A bunch of people were sweating profusely, but she was fine, she didn’t know how she ended up with Xie Hezhang!
“Shu Qingyao, you’re not helping anyone by doing this!” Jin Zhuang criticized, “Didn’t I tell you not to go up the mountain? You bunch of little girls, what can you do? Now, to find you, we’ve spent a lot of manpower and material resources, if you really had something happen, would you be able to face your parents?”
Shu Qingyao was criticized and didn’t dare to speak, but Xie Hezhang pulled her behind him and spoke for her.
“Captain Jin, if Shu Qingyao and Jiang Xun hadn’t gone up the mountain together, the second mudslide wouldn’t have been as casualty-free as it is now.”
He stood in front of Jin Zhuang, his eyes sharp, “Shu Qingyao warned about the mudslide in advance and evacuated the rescue team in time, giving the logistics personnel time to escape. She herself couldn’t escape in time and was swept into the cave where I was by the mudslide, if she hadn’t been lucky, you would have dug up a corpse now.”
His words exaggerated Shu Qingyao’s intelligence and bravery, and criticized the bunch of big men in the logistics department for leaving her alone, which made Shu Qingyao a little embarrassed.
This guy usually doesn’t talk much, but when it’s time for him to speak, he’s quite eloquent.
Shu Qingyao held Xie Hezhang’s hand and shook it gently, “Oh, Xie Hezhang, don’t say it, it’s good that everyone is fine.”
Jin Zhuang was speechless by Xie Hezhang’s words.
It was true, if Shu Qingyao hadn’t gone up the mountain, Jiang Xun’s group of people who went up the mountain to deliver water would probably have been buried by the mudslide.
He wasn’t blaming Shu Qingyao, it was just that this girl had been causing trouble lately, making him very stressed, Jin Zhuang would get a heart attack whenever he heard the name Shu Qingyao.
How could a little girl be so troublesome!
But her eyes were big and round, black and white, and when she stared at people, she was so innocent.
Jin Zhuang was also fooled by Shu Qingyao’s innocent look at first.
Now he regretted it so much.
If he had known that this girl was so troublesome, the first day she was sent to his team, even if he offended the instructor, he would have sent Shu Qingyao to the neighboring Sun Red Team!
“Forget it, forget it.” Jin Zhuang waved his hand, weakly, “It’s good that everyone is fine! Let’s go down the mountain!”
Shu Qingyao grabbed Xie Hezhang’s hand, and the two of them walked down the mountain hand in hand.
“Shu Qingyao has been found!”
The militiaman who went down the mountain with them shouted, and the people who were anxiously waiting at the foot of the mountain surrounded them.
“Yao Yao, are you okay? You really made me worry…”
Jiang Xun came over, and when he saw Xie Hezhang holding hands with Shu Qingyao, his voice suddenly lowered.
How come Xie Hezhang was with Shu Qingyao?
He looked at the two hands clasped together, a trace of gloom flashed in his eyes.
“I’m fine.” Shu Qingyao replied lightly, then raised her head and said to Xie Hezhang, “Let’s go to the logistics side and have something to eat, you haven’t had a meal for almost a day and a night, there’s porridge and sugar water there, let’s have some first, okay?”
“Okay.”
Xie Hezhang responded and walked forward with Shu Qingyao.
Then, as if sensing something, he turned his head and looked back.
Jiang Xun stood there watching their backs.
Their eyes met.
Xie Hezhang squeezed the soft little hand in his palm slightly, expressionless, he withdrew his gaze.
*
In the big tent.
Shu Qingyao and Xie Hezhang sat side by side drinking brown sugar water.
The little nurse took the purple iodine and disinfected the wounds on their legs and arms.
Speaking of which, it was also…
