“What are you thinking about?”
His deep, dark eyes were like a seductive trap, descending on her from above, ensnaring her, demanding her wholehearted submission, forbidding any escape.
What a domineering man…
Jiang Yuyan lightly curved her lips, her cherry lips forming two flying swallows, darting playfully and stubbornly across the pool of desire in the man’s eyes, refusing to be easily captured.
“When you’re making love to me, you’re not allowed to think about anything else.”
His tone was lazy, as if he wasn’t taking it seriously, but the grip on her chin was firm, not at all like he was joking.
She let out a soft laugh, raising her delicate arms to wrap around his neck, teasingly kissing the spot where his pulse beat.
“You’re so petty. Aren’t you thinking about something else yourself?”
“Who says that?” He felt the waves of sensuality by his neck, breathing heavily.
“Still not admitting it?” Her slender fingers mischievously grazed the tip of his handsome nose. “You’re thinking about that company that just went public, aren’t you? The stock has hit the upper limit several days in a row, making billions for your company. Just the bonuses alone are enough for you to buy another mansion.”
“I’m not interested in investing in real estate,” he responded lightly, verbally countering her words while physically engaging with her more intensely.
Her body trembled, and she couldn’t help but let out a soft cry.
The plea hidden in her moan made him feel triumphant, and he intensified his actions, his lips restlessly savoring her.
She bit her lip hard, unwilling to beg outright, but couldn’t resist lightly punching his solid shoulder. “You’re so… bad.”
“Didn’t you just praise me as the best man in the world not too long ago? How did I become bad now?” he teased.
“When did I ever praise you?” she denied.
“Really, you didn’t? Let me think, what did you say—” He paused, mimicking her sweet voice. “Rui, you’re so capable. Even the hardest things become easy when they’re in your hands, no wonder…”
“What are you doing?” She was both amused and annoyed, unable to stand his exaggerated imitation. “Why is a grown man talking like that?”
“I’m imitating you.”
“My voice isn’t that gross, okay?” Her cherry lips pouted indignantly, then suddenly blossomed into a playful smile. “I never imagined the ‘Demon King’ Jing Rui could talk like that. I have to record this, it’s too funny!” She fumbled for her phone on the bedside table, which had a recording function, and held it up to his lips. “Say it again.”
“What did you say?” Jing Rui glared at her.
“What you just said, say it again,” she recklessly demanded.
He narrowed his eyes dangerously. “You woman, even at a time like this, you’re still thinking about collecting material for your observation journal?”
“It’s just a keepsake. You’re not that petty, are you?” She blinked innocently at him.
But he knew she was far from innocent. From the moment they met until now, who knows how many of his private moments had ended up in her hands, turned into written or audio records.
“Don’t worry, I won’t leak it,” she whispered seductively in his ear.
It wasn’t about whether she’d keep it secret or not; it was about whether he should continue indulging her recording habit, especially at a moment when she should be completely surrendering to him.
She made him seriously doubt his own masculine charm, a charm that had never failed with any other woman.
“Yanyan.” He called her by her nickname, his tone dangerously low.
She shivered in response. “What?”
You need to be taught a lesson.
He sent her a threatening look, and she tensed up, bracing herself as he lowered his powerful body, ready to claim his prize…
Suddenly, a string of powerful ringing interrupted them.
“My… phone,” she murmured weakly.
Don’t answer it!
He warned her with another look.
But that ringtone meant the caller was someone important, someone who couldn’t be ignored.
Just as she was about to explain, another sharp ringtone pierced the air, intertwining with the first to create an overwhelming duet.
This time, it was his phone ringing.
“Don’t answer it.” Now it was her turn to warn him.
Their eyes locked in a fierce standoff, neither willing to back down. After a silent battle of wills, they reached a mutual understanding.
Both of them jumped out of bed at the same time, grabbing their respective phones and retreating to opposite corners of the room to take the calls.
Jiang Yuyan spoke with clear elegance, her tone polite and composed. “Mr. Wei, how have you been… Yes, I understand your interest. Our boss is indeed very optimistic about that company… No problem, I’ll arrange a meeting for you as soon as possible…”
On his end, Jing Rui’s voice was cold, devoid of emotion. “…You’re saying Mr. Luo will meet the buyer at a party tonight? Which party… Ok, get me an invitation right away… You have one hour to gather information on the buyer. That’s all.”
They both hung up at almost the same time, their gazes meeting once again.
Jiang Yuyan shook her phone. “Wei Yuanlang just called. He’s very interested in that biotech company we recommended and wants to learn more.”
“Is that so?” Jing Rui smirked slightly and shared his own progress. “Ben said someone is going to introduce Mr. Luo to another buyer at tonight’s party. He’s getting the invitation now.”
“So, we’re going to a party tonight?” she asked with a smile.
“Make sure you dress nicely,” he reminded her.
“Are you asking me to charm Mr. Luo to death?”
“No, I want you to charm the unexpected rival who showed up.”
“Oh.”
“Oh?”
“Are you sure the other party is a man?” She slowly walked toward him, her half-naked body swaying seductively, each step a severe test of his self-control.
He struggled to hold on, wrapping his arms around her waist as she approached. “Whether they’re male or female, I’m sure you can handle it, right, Yanyan?”
“You trust me that much?” She lifted her head, her eyes locking onto his with a meaningful gaze.
He lowered his lips, stopping just a breath away from hers. “Don’t you trust yourself?”
She lowered her lashes. “As long as you trust me, I trust myself.” Perhaps he didn’t understand, but this was a woman’s most restrained and profound way of expressing love to a man.
“Then I must be very important?” he teased.
He really didn’t understand.
Jiang Yuyan pressed her lips together bitterly, burying her face in his shoulder. She noticed a scar on his back, close to his shoulder, and her heart tightened—it was a burn scar from a pair of tongs, a pain he would probably never forget.
She closed her eyes briefly, carefully avoiding the scar, and playfully bit his shoulder. “You’re just realizing how important you are now? My dear boss.”
He winced in pain, his shoulder muscles tensing.
“What? Does it hurt?”
“It does.” He nodded.
She was surprised, not expecting this usually competitive man to show weakness.
But he didn’t seem to mind, his gaze holding hers for a moment before he suddenly spun her around, pressing her against the wall. Ensuring she was completely at his mercy, he then smirked wickedly.
“What hurts is—right here.”
Her face flushed, her eyes misty. “We… still have to attend the party…”
“Don’t worry, we still have an hour.”
Meaning, he had plenty of time to inflict the most wicked and meticulous torment on her, and properly—
Punish her.
