Chapter 13
Xia Yunxuan swiftly moved, quickly putting the treasures FeiFei mentioned into her space.
After about ten minutes, FeiFei said, “Sister, there’s nothing good left here. Just some famous paintings and blue-and-white porcelain, but they’re a bit damaged. Do you want them?”
Xia Yunxuan said, “My space is so big. I’ll put them in first. If I meet a big shot who can repair them later, I’ll take them out.”
“Okay, Sister, I’ll do as you say.” Xia Yunxuan looked around herself. There really wasn’t anything good left. But she saw some complete review materials for the college entrance exam, more than one set. Xia Yunxuan quickly put them in her space. These would be treasures when the news of the college entrance exam came out.
She also saw several children’s comic books. She took a few old newspapers and walked out. At the door, Xia Yunxuan looked at the old man who was opening the door and asked, “Old man, could you please tell me how much these cost?”
The old man looked at them and said, “Give me a dime.” Xia Yunxuan took a dime out of her pocket and gave it to the old man. She also said, “Thank you, old man.”
The old man didn’t say anything and nodded. Xia Yunxuan took the newspapers and left. The old man thought, “I wonder who this girl is. She’s beautiful, polite, and has good manners. I wonder where my stinky son went. Otherwise, I could try to match them up.”
Leaving the scrap yard, Xia Yunxuan went to a place not far from the south forest and flashed into her space. She had to prepare the goods for the deal. Looking at the list of goods, Xia Yunxuan calculated that she could make at least several thousand yuan.
After preparing the goods she needed to deliver tonight in her space, Xia Yunxuan started exercising in her space. With the help of the spiritual spring water, she worked out for several hours and was sweating profusely. Although she was tired, she felt much stronger than before.
Now, if she fought one-on-one with a few big guys, she could easily crush them with her strength. She probably just needed to exercise a few more times to get back to her previous level.
Xia Yunxuan glanced at the time. It was getting late. She quickly washed her hair and took a bath, put on her disguise, and ate some cooked food from her space to fill her stomach. Then she prepared for the deal.
Xia Yunxuan arrived at the forest early. She left footprints of different shoe sizes and pressed down the tire tracks of a few cars as camouflage. Then she took out her supplies and waited for Brother Li and the others.
After waiting for about ten minutes, Xia Yunxuan heard the sound of a car. There were actually cars in this era. It seemed like another hidden big shot.
When they arrived at the designated location, Brother Li shone his flashlight three times. This was their pre-arranged signal. Xia Yunxuan also shone her flashlight three times to signal that it was safe to trade.
After receiving the signal, Brother Li quickly got out of the car and went to the designated location. “Sister Yun, I didn’t expect you to be so fast. You’ve already brought all these goods.”
“Well, what else would I do? If we’re going to trade, we have to be on time. Brother Li, let’s not waste time. Have your brothers check the goods.”
Brother Li gave his brothers a signal. They didn’t hesitate and quickly checked the goods. After about twenty minutes, they finished checking. “Brother Li, we’ve checked the goods. They’re all top-notch.”
Brother Li then held a box and a smaller box. “Sister Yun, these are the tickets and money you need. Count them.”
For their first transaction, Xia Yunxuan carefully counted the money and tickets. After counting, she said, “Brother Li, the money and tickets are correct. You can take your time moving the goods. I have something to do, so I’ll be leaving.”
Brother Li asked, “Sister Yun, can I ask when we’ll trade again next time?” Xia Yunxuan said, “I’ll let you know when I have more goods. If I do, I’ll come here or I’ll let you know. How about that?”
“Okay, Sister Yun. I’ll be waiting for you. I hope we have another chance to cooperate.” Xia Yunxuan nodded and left with the box.
When she was far enough away and no one was following her, she threw the two boxes into her space, took out her motorcycle, and headed back to the village.
Xia Yunxuan was bold. She wasn’t afraid to ride a motorcycle alone. It took her about ten minutes to reach the village.
Luckily, everyone in the village was asleep. Otherwise, if they saw her coming back so late at night, who knows what those gossipy people would say behind her back?
Back in her little room, which she had tidied up in the afternoon, Xia Yunxuan took out cotton batting, bedsheets, quilts, and pillows that were appropriate for this era and made the bed.
She also took out toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, detergent, towels, enamel basins, enamel cups, and water kettles, all of which were in line with the times.
She also took out shoes, socks, gloves, straw hats, clothes, rice, flour, oil, pots, bowls, and plates. There was no stove here, so she could only take out a small stove. After all, some people in the village used small stoves.
“Okay, that’s it for now. When my new house is built, I can take out other things.”
She didn’t have to work tomorrow, so she could get up late. Why sleep on this hard bed when she had her space? She flashed back into her space.
Only now did Xia Yunxuan take a closer look at her space. Before, she was too busy stocking up and dealing with those terrible people. Now she finally had time.
She found that the fruit trees she had bought had survived. The vegetables she planted were ready to eat. She couldn’t believe how fast they had grown. The pigs, cows, sheep, and chickens were also doing well in her space. Xia Yunxuan was very happy. She hadn’t expected that her space could raise animals. She would never lack meat again.
There was also a large piece of black soil that FeiFei had planted with a lot of grain. It wouldn’t be long before they were ready to harvest.
The spiritual spring water had also become larger. Before, she remembered it was just a small stream. Now it was almost a small river. This was truly good news.
The supplies she had stocked up on were also in her space, neatly stacked. With this space, she was confident.
FeiFei also tMrs. Her that the black soil could grow anything, regardless of the season. The yield was twice as high as other land. If medicinal herbs were planted there, the quality of the herbs would be much better than ordinary herbs.
When she had time, she had to go into the mountains. If she could find ginseng or ganoderma lucidum, wouldn’t she have a constant supply of herbs?
Xia Yunxuan also opened the boxes she had found at the scrap yard one by one. She couldn’t believe that they were all treasures. The small boxes contained jewelry, rings, diamonds, necklaces, and jade pendants. The large boxes contained gold bars, cash, and gold nuggets. There were also various tickets: bicycle tickets, sewing machine tickets, and watch tickets. The dates were still valid. She had really struck gold.
She found over 10,000 yuan in cash. She wondered which wealthy family they had robbed. The average salary in this era was twenty to thirty yuan. What did it mean to be a “ten-thousand-yuan household”? Some people probably couldn’t save 10,000 yuan in their entire lives. She had hit the jackpot!
