Chapter 14
Xia Yunxuan was thrilled to see so many good things. This was a real treasure trove for her.
She carefully put away the jewelry. These would be treasures later on, each worth at least a few million yuan. They might not be valuable now, but they would be in the future.
She had struck it rich overnight. Her luck was incredible. The heavens were truly kind to her. Was this a perk for time travelers?
Feifei looked at her sister’s excited reaction and said, “Sister, you’ve seen billions of yuan before. Why are you so excited about these little things? We’ve seen the world.”
“Feifei, you don’t understand. These are completely different. It’s all about luck. Why did these things stay in the scrap yard for so long without anyone finding them? It’s because I’m incredibly lucky, isn’t it?”
“Cut it out, sister. Even with your good luck, you only got these few things. We have so many treasures in our space. You need to think bigger. Your vision is limited.”
Xia Yunxuan was lectured by Feifei and calmed down. She looked at the time. It was almost 1 pm. Even though she didn’t have to work tomorrow, she needed to go to sleep. Her body was still young. She wouldn’t turn 18 for a few months. Maybe she could grow taller. She was already 5’4”, but wouldn’t it be nice to be a few inches taller?
Xia Yunxuan lay down on the soft Simmons bed in her space, hugged her custom-made doll, and went to sleep.
The next morning, she was woken up by the chickens in the village. She didn’t get up. She turned over and went back to sleep.
When she woke up again, she looked at her phone. It was already 9 am. She stretched and yawned. She still wanted to sleep, but she couldn’t sleep too much or she wouldn’t be able to sleep at night. She got up, washed her face, brushed her teeth, changed clothes, and ate breakfast.
After breakfast, she put on her clothes, grabbed a stick, and went to the back mountain. She had nothing. Not even a basket. She would look for one in the village when she came back.
She had been to the back mountain many times before and was familiar with it. There wasn’t anything good there. But now she had martial arts skills, so she wanted to go deeper into the mountain.
If she could find some wild boars or bears, she could put them in her space and make a fortune at the black market.
She soon reached the back mountain. In the distance, she saw several children cutting grass for pigs. Cutting grass was the easiest job in the team, but it didn’t earn many work points. It was usually assigned to elderly people or children.
Xia Yunxuan ignored the children and went deeper into the mountain. She had a feeling she would find some good things.
The mountain wasn’t very big, but it took her about an hour to reach the deepest part. Few people came here. The forest was dense, and there was a lot of dry firewood.
She put the good firewood into her space. She would need it for cooking. After walking a few meters, she found a patch of medicinal herbs. They weren’t particularly rare, but they were useful.
There were angelica, bitter almond, safflower root, balloon flower root, poria cocos, Polygonatum sibiricum, schisandra chinensis, bupleurum, gastrodia elata, angelica dahurica, phellodendron bark, forsythia suspensa, licorice, cocklebur, atractylodes macrocephala, wood fragrance, pinellia ternata, clove, euryale ferox seed, lily, notoginseng, amomum tsao-ko, safflower.
She waved her hand, and all the herbs were transferred to the black soil in her space. They would be very useful later.
Xia Yunxuan wandered around and found a lingzhi mushroom on a tree. It wasn’t very big, but she could cultivate it in her space. She would have an endless supply of lingzhi. She also found a nest of radix rehmanniae.
This radix rehmanniae was probably hundreds of years old and almost fully formed. She had to plant it in her space so it could grow more small radix rehmanniae.
Xia Yunxuan wasn’t afraid. She hummed a tune and walked forward. She found a few red berries. Wow, she was incredibly lucky. They were ginseng, and there were several of them. The biggest one was probably hundreds of years old, maybe even a thousand years old.
She quickly took out a red rope from her space, tied it around the ginseng, and took out her tools to dig. These were treasures. She had to be careful. If she broke a ginseng root, it wouldn’t be as effective.
Luckily, Xia Yunxuan had tools from the future. She dug up all the ginseng roots intact in no time. She had walked for so long and dug up several ginseng roots. She had also found so many treasures. She sat down to rest, took a sip of spirit spring water, and ate some food to fill her stomach.
Just as she finished eating, she heard footsteps. From the sound, it was probably a wolf. Xia Yunxuan took out her weapon from her space and got ready. She knew that the wolves in the deep mountains were very fierce.
Sure enough, a gray-black wolf appeared. It was a full-grown male wolf. It was huge, with sharp teeth. It bared its teeth at Xia Yunxuan but didn’t dare to come forward.
Suddenly, the wolf sniffed the air, as if it had smelled something precious. It became very agitated and frantically dug the ground.
Xia Yunxuan understood. The wolf must have smelled the spirit spring water. She had probably dropped a few drops on the ground when she drank it. The wolf’s nose was really sensitive.
Since the wolf wasn’t hostile towards her, Xia Yunxuan didn’t want to hurt it. All living things have souls. There’s a saying, “If a wolf turns back, it’s either to repay a kindness or seek revenge.” She didn’t want to provoke these fierce pack animals.
Xia Yunxuan didn’t care if the wolf understood her. “You want that water, don’t you? I have more. Just don’t bite me. I’ll give you some.”
The wolf actually nodded, as if it understood. Wow, Xia Yunxuan almost swore. The wolf actually had intelligence.
Xia Yunxuan took out a large basin from her space and used her mind to pour half a basin of spirit spring water into it. She placed it on the ground and said to the wolf, “Here you go. Drink it quickly. Then leave. I don’t want to hurt you.”
The wolf sniffed the water and was very excited. It drank half the basin of spirit spring water in one go. It was still unsatisfied and looked at Xia Yunxuan, as if to say, “Is there more? Give me some more.”
Xia Yunxuan said, “No more. Go away now.” The wolf seemed to be stuck on Xia Yunxuan. It wouldn’t leave. It just stared at her.
Xia Yunxuan said, “If you won’t leave, I’ll leave. I’m going down the mountain to go back home. You can’t follow me. What if you scare the villagers?”
The wolf saw Xia Yunxuan was about to leave and howled anxiously. It looked in one direction. Xia Yunxuan asked, “Do you want me to go with you there?”
