Chapter 57: You Guys Have a Grudge
Hearing Tang Xiaorou’s words, Old Yu looked distressed.
“Xiao Tang, you wouldn’t be changing your mind, wanting to work here instead of staying at our Xinglin Pharmacy, would you? Let me tell you, the salary here is definitely not as high as what I pay you.
Don’t believe me? Ask Yang Congyong later. At our place, not only is the salary higher, but the work is also less demanding. Here, the salary is low and the work is busy, and it’s not easy to take leave. So you must think carefully!”
Seeing Old Yu like this, Tang Xiaorou couldn’t help but glance at him and said, “Old Yu, where did your mind wander to? I just wanted to tell Director Yang about the situation of a patient during the practical exam. I’ll definitely choose Xinglin Pharmacy, I won’t choose to work here.”
Hearing this, Old Yu breathed a sigh of relief.
“That’s good, that’s good. I’ll take you to his office now.” In the end, he happily hummed a little tune.
When the two arrived at the director’s office, Yang Congyong smiled and congratulated her, “Doctor Tang, I heard that you got first place in both the written and practical exams. Congratulations.”
Old Yu, upon hearing this, raised his chin and said, “Of course. It’s not like you don’t know who found this doctor.”
Yang Congyong echoed with a smile, “Yes, Old Yu’s judgment has always been the best.”
After the three exchanged pleasantries, Tang Xiaorou got straight to the point.
“Director Yang, during the practical exam, the patient I encountered was named Liu Yingxian. Her lungs should have a problem, and the condition is already quite serious. However, after I told the patient, she didn’t believe me.
If you’re going to see her again, you can have her take an X-ray and ask a professional pulmonologist to examine her.”
Currently, there were no CT scanners in China yet; they would be introduced two years later, so the only option was to take an X-ray.
Yang Congyong looked at Tang Xiaorou in surprise and said, “The patients you were assigned to examine have already been seen by our hospital’s doctors. So you discovered that the patient had other conditions?”
“Yes, but I look too young, so she didn’t believe me.”
Yang Congyong nodded and said, “Okay, I’ll make a note of this. Once we contact this patient, we’ll have her get a check-up.”
After talking about this, Tang Xiaorou was about to leave. “Director Yang, we’ll go back now.”
Seeing Director Yang stand up, Old Yu waved his hand directly, “You sit down, no need to see us out.”
“Okay, then you go slowly.”
However, as soon as Tang Xiaorou opened the door, she saw Yang Moli standing at the door, about to knock.
“You… how come you’re here!”
Yang Moli was shocked to see Tang Xiaorou coming out of the director’s office.
Tang Xiaorou raised an eyebrow at Yang Moli and said, “I had something to talk to Director Yang about, so naturally I’m here.”
“You actually know my uncle.” She looked enlightened. “No wonder you came directly to take the exam without attending the training. You must have used back channels.”
Yang Congyong heard the commotion and came over, frowning and asking, “Moli, what are you saying?”
Seeing Yang Congyong, Yang Moli subconsciously shrank her neck, but thinking that she hadn’t passed the exam, while Tang Xiaorou had, she felt resentful. “Uncle, why would you rather help an outsider than me? I worked so hard to attend the training, and you still didn’t let me pass the exam. You’re too much.”
In the end, Yang Moli pointed at Tang Xiaorou and said, “She didn’t even attend the training, yet she got the certificate. Isn’t this unfair?”
Hearing this, Yang Congyong’s face turned very ugly.
“If you could be like Doctor Tang, achieving first place in both the written and practical exams, then you would definitely get the certificate. The exam isn’t about how well you did in the training, but about your medical skills.”
However, Yang Moli wouldn’t listen.
“Uncle, you must have secretly helped her. Otherwise, how could someone who joined the exam midway get first place in everything?”
“Yang Moli!”
Yang Congyong looked at his niece with a serious expression and said, “I won’t favor anyone. I will only be fair and just.”
Hearing Yang Congyong’s words, Tang Xiaorou smiled and told him what happened during the exam.
“At that time, Comrade Yang Moli was confident that she would pass the exam and stay at the hospital as a doctor because she had you, her uncle, backing her. If her medical skills were up to par, there would be no problem.
But her medical skills seem to be lacking, yet she insisted on letting everyone know that you, the director and her uncle, would help her cheat.
So, Director Yang, sometimes you still have to do some ideological work for your family members, and not let them think this way, lest they harm you someday.”
Hearing this, Yang Congyong’s face turned dark.
Yang Moli glared at Tang Xiaorou angrily, “What nonsense are you talking about?”
“Whether it’s nonsense or not, you know it in your heart. Just ask the other candidates who were there at the time, and you’ll know. I have no reason to lie.”
After saying this, Tang Xiaorou and Old Yu left the hospital.
Yang Moli wanted to chase after them, but Yang Congyong stopped her. “Moli, go home first. After work tonight, I’ll go to your house and have a good talk with your parents about your situation.”
“Uncle…”
Seeing Yang Congyong’s expression, Yang Moli had a bad feeling, but she didn’t dare to say anything more. In her heart, however, she resented Tang Xiaorou. If it weren’t for that woman reporting her, she wouldn’t have been embarrassed by her uncle.
On the way back, Old Yu also talked about Yang Moli.
“I even saw that little girl when she was born. I never imagined she would turn out like this. The Yang family is no good; they don’t know how to raise children.” He then smiled and looked at Tang Xiaorou, saying, “Unlike our Doctor Tang, who is well-behaved, sensible, and has excellent medical skills.”
“Old Yu, I didn’t know you were so good at praising people.”
Tang Xiaorou was beaming with praise, but after returning to Xinglin Pharmacy, the smile on her face gradually faded.
“Tang Xiaorou, how come you’re here?”
Tang Xiaorou smiled and said, “Comrade Zhang Wanyu, I work at this pharmacy, so naturally I’m here.”
“So you really found a job and started working.”
Zhang Wanyu had already heard that Tang Xiaorou had found a job using her medical skills, but she still didn’t quite believe it.
Tang Xiaorou, a country girl from the countryside, how good could her medical skills be? Saving Commander Han’s grandson last time must have been a coincidence. Unexpectedly, she really found a job.
Old Yu looked at Zhang Wanyu, then at Tang Xiaorou, and asked, “Xiao Tang’s medical skills… you two know each other?”
“Not really, this is only our second meeting.”
Zhang Wanyu sneered, “Yeah, we don’t really know each other. But isn’t your pharmacy terrible? Hiring such a young and inexperienced doctor.”
After saying this, she turned and left without looking back. She certainly wouldn’t get medicine from a pharmacy with Tang Xiaorou.
“Hey… this little brat, how infuriating!”
Old Yu muttered, turning to Tang Xiaorou and asking, “Do you two have a grudge?”
