Chapter 24: You Two Should Be More Careful in the Future!
Aunt Liu looked at the villagers watching the commotion, seeking help. Her gaze finally settled on Fu Yanci.
Thinking about how her daughter had fallen into the water and they had all worked so hard, she decided she had to somehow trick Fu Yanci into the water to save her daughter!
So, she yelled again, “Captain Fu, even if my daughter wasn’t pushed into the river by Su Wantang, as a soldier, you can’t stand by and watch someone die!”
Su Wantang immediately stepped in front of Fu Yanci, blocking Aunt Liu’s greedy gaze.
“Don’t even think about it. He can’t swim.”
Aunt Liu was so angry she almost jumped out of her skin!
A soldier who couldn’t swim? That’s ridiculous!
At this time, two kind young men wanted to go into the water to help Aunt Liu, but Su Wantang stopped them.
“Wait, comrades, are you looking for wives?”
The two kind-hearted men looked at each other, dumbfounded and confused.
After a moment, one asked, “Comrade, why did you ask that?”
Su Wantang looked at Aunt Liu in the water and clicked her tongue twice.
Then she said to the two kind-hearted men, “Comrades! Your kindness is admirable, but if a malicious person exploits it, you’ll be the ones suffering!”
The two men looked at Su Wantang in confusion.
Su Wantang continued, “You don’t know what Aunt Liu is planning. I overheard her talking to Pang Ya today. Pang Ya fell in on purpose! She wants to get married. She said whoever saves her from the water, touches her body, ruins her purity, she’ll marry that person!”
The two comrades gasped, taking a step back in fright.
My goodness! They dare not save her!
Although they were still bachelors, they didn’t want to marry a 200-plus-pound woman so rashly!
They’d heard that Pang Ya was lazy and a big eater. Their families couldn’t afford to support such an ancestor!
Aunt Liu gritted her teeth, cursing Su Wantang, “You bitch! What nonsense are you talking about? When did my daughter ever say such things?”
Su Wantang didn’t get angry, staring at Aunt Liu and saying, “Whether she said it or not, you know in your hearts. But, you never know what trouble good intentions can bring.”
Su Wantang looked meaningfully at the two young men who had offered to save Pang Ya.
She warned, “You two should be more careful in the future!”
The two comrades thought that if they had jumped in to save Pang Ya, she might have latched onto them.
Over two hundred pounds!
The thought alone was terrifying. Luckily, Su Wantang had warned them.
They nodded their thanks repeatedly.
They stopped watching the commotion and ran home.
They vowed never to meddle in other people’s business again!
Aunt Liu felt her eyes bulge with rage.
She desperately held onto her 200-plus-pound daughter, preventing her from sinking, panting heavily.
She muttered, “You damn girl, you’re always getting me into trouble. I shouldn’t have listened to your stupid idea.”
A voice suddenly came from the crowd: “Is it true that if I save her, she’ll marry me?”
Su Wantang glanced at the crowd, locked onto her target, and strode over.
It was a forty-something-year-old widower, lazy, idle, and disliked by everyone.
A mischievous smile flashed across Su Wantang’s face.
Then, with a serious expression, she replied, “True or false, why don’t you go save her and find out?”
The widower’s eyes flickered, and he nodded repeatedly.
He went to the riverbank, and saw Pang Ya’s enormous figure, bloated from the water.
The widower recoiled in fright, shaking his head wildly. “Oh my god! Even a sow isn’t that big! This is terrifying! If I marry her, she’ll crush me to death!”
