Listening to the gossip, Xu Zhilu’s eyelids twitched.
Was she playing hard to get with Shen Siyan?
She’s not sick.
Expressionless, Xu Zhilu returned to the classroom. As she entered, the classmates who had gathered dispersed, but their expressions were meaningful.
Many couldn’t resist their curiosity and secretly glanced at her.
Xin An’an wasn’t in a hurry. She climbed onto the forum.
After seeing the photo, she handed her phone to Xu Zhilu with a lowered voice, “Zhilu, is this true?”
Xu Zhilu glanced at the photo. It was when Shen Siyan had pulled her, and she hadn’t steadied herself, bumping into his shoulder.
From behind, it indeed looked like she was throwing herself into his arms.
Xu Zhilu’s temples throbbed, and she gritted her teeth, “No.”
She said, “If I were throwing myself at anyone, it would be towards Cheng Song.”
“What did you say?”
As soon as the words fell, a cold male voice came from behind.
Xu Zhilu stiffened, turning to look at the sudden appearance.
The two silently locked eyes, and Xu Zhilu looked into his deep gaze, feeling a strange sensation.
Shen Siyan seemed… angry for a moment.
But it was just a fleeting thought. What could he be angry about, that people were gossiping about her? Or was he angry that she had subtly hinted at ‘throwing herself into his arms’?
Thinking this, Xu Zhilu pursed her lips and asked back, “What did I say?”
Shen Siyan gazed at her intensely, saying nothing.
Feeling annoyed, Xu Zhilu didn’t want to talk to him anymore, “Why are you so nosy, eavesdropping on my conversation with An’an.”
Shen Siyan: “…”
Xin An’an: “…”
Wasn’t this just overhearing? They had spoken quite loudly just now.
After saying this, Xu Zhilu ignored him and didn’t want to discuss this topic further.
Xin An’an glanced at her expression, then sneakily looked at Shen Siyan in the back row. She suddenly had a wild guess.
Could it be that Shen Siyan was angry because of Xu Zhilu’s remark about ‘throwing herself at Cheng Song’? Was he jealous?
Xin An’an thought wildly, then shook her head, feeling it was unlikely.
Shen Siyan didn’t like Xu Zhilu.
But on second thought, she couldn’t think of any other reason. Also, if her memory served correctly, Shen Siyan had never said he didn’t like Xu Zhilu, nor had he said he did.
Lost in her thoughts, Xin An’an confused herself.
She glanced at the teacher on the podium, lowered her head to check her phone, intending to check the forum discussion and speak up for Xu Zhilu.
After refreshing, the post was gone.
Xin An’an rubbed her eyes, searched again, still nothing.
She widened her eyes, looked at her phone for a while, then whispered to Xu Zhilu, “Zhilu, the post got deleted.”
Xu Zhilu replied with a “Hmm.”
Xin An’an turned back and asked in a low voice, “Did Shen Siyan delete it?”
“Don’t know.”
Xu Zhilu patted her head and said, “Focus on class first.”
“Oh.”
–
The post being deleted caused even more discussion among the students.
Everyone speculated whether Xu Zhilu felt guilty and couldn’t face it, so she had someone delete the post.
As Shen Siyan passed by the playground, he happened to hear a particularly loud remark.
“To be honest, it must have felt great for Xu Zhilu to throw herself at him. That slender waist, long legs, and big chest must be so soft. Shen Siyan… ah…”
In the midst of his lewd daydreaming, he was suddenly kicked hard from behind, his legs going weak as he dropped to his knees.
“Fu*k!” Chen Zhixin turned around, cursing loudly, “What the hell..”
Before he could finish his sentence, someone grabbed the collar of his clothes, tightening it so much that he couldn’t breathe. He gasped for air, his hands desperately pulling at the collar, trying to free himself.
But the person behind him had no intention of letting him off so easily.
Shen Siyan twisted the person he had grabbed, and before Chen Zhixin could clearly see who it was, he strained to open his eyes, only to meet a heavy punch coming straight at him.
“Ah…” A piercing scream echoed across the playground.
After a few punches, Chen Zhixin’s face was beyond recognition.
Cheng Song stood by the side, horrified to see what was happening; he had no idea why Brother Yan suddenly lost his temper.
As more and more onlookers gathered around, Cheng Song hurriedly pulled Shen Siyan aside, saying, “Brother Yan, Brother Yan! Enough! If you keep going, something bad will happen.”
Shen Siyan didn’t hesitate, and he pushed him away.
Cheng Song stumbled, nearly falling.
Ignoring him, Shen Siyan pressed Chen Zhixin’s head against the ground.
Chen Zhixin cried and shouted for mercy, fear filling his eyes. “Brother Yan, Brother Yan… I was wrong, I was wrong.” Although he didn’t know exactly what he had done wrong, Chen Zhixin knew one thing for certain—Shen Siyan was not someone to offend.
Shen Siyan was still intent on continuing, but not far away, a familiar voice rang out, “Shen Siyan, what are you doing?”
It was lunch break, and Xu Zhilu was originally napping in the classroom. Just as she was about to fall asleep, a commotion suddenly erupted in the classroom.
Xin An’an shook her awake and shouted, “Zhilu, Zhilu, someone said Shen Siyan is fighting on the playground.”
Xu Zhilu wasn’t particularly interested in such matters.
Shen Siyan had been fighting for quite some time; she didn’t find it particularly shocking or unexpected.
But Xin An’an insisted, dragging her towards the playground, reminding her all the while, “Don’t you remember last time when Shen Siyan got into a fight? Mrs. Shen asked you a favor.”
Instantly, Xu Zhilu’s memory clicked.
The last time Xin An’an mentioned, for some reason, Shen Siyan got into a conflict and a fight, and then the parents were called in.
After Mrs. Shen came over and settled everything, she gave Xu Zhilu a couple of instructions, saying that Shen Siyan must be stopped from fighting in the future; every time he fought, he would lose a building. The Shen family was bound to be bankrupt sooner or later, and they wouldn’t be able to buy clothes for her then.
Xu Zhilu wasn’t surprised by Mrs. Shen’s words.
Shen Siyan’s mother loved to joke around, and she liked Xu Zhilu very much. Sometimes she even beat Shen Siyan for her sake. Xu Zhilu had always known this.
Mrs. Shen was the only person who made Xu Zhilu feel “motherly love.” She usually tried her best to follow Mrs. Shen’s instructions.
When Mrs. Shen said those words, Xin An’an was also there.
Xu Zhilu regained her senses and quickly said, “Let’s go quickly.”
“Okay.”
When the two arrived at the playground, quite a few classmates had already gathered around, pointing and whispering. Xu Zhilu heard cries of agony.
She frowned and looked towards the heavily aggressive figure not far away, and could only dryly shout.
She couldn’t directly stop Shen Siyan, and could only interrupt him using this stupid method.
As soon as she spoke, Shen Siyan looked up.
Chen Zhixin seemed to see hope, looking at Xu Zhilu with eyes full of hope, like looking at a savior.
Xu Zhilu took a glance at the beaten person, took a few steps forward, and asked in a muted voice, “Is it worth your while to be a jerk like him?”
