The End of the World Scavenger: I Win by Turning Waste into Treasure Chapter 25: The Enemy Turned on Themselves

“How much did you say?”

“Twenty?”

If he hadn’t had to keep his voice down right now, Yu Hongfei would’ve shouted in disbelief.

Even after seeing Lin Chu nod, he couldn’t hide his shock and spun around in place several times.

You have to understand—normally, he could only dismember a zombie into bits. Literally.

Delicate parts like fingers were easy to accidentally chop to pieces, and the system wouldn’t accept fragmented remains, which meant a lot of time wasted.

So he never bothered with that kind of pointless work. If he could extract ten intact parts from a single zombie and trade them for one point, that was already a good deal.

And even that took quite a bit of time.

But now someone was telling him they could earn twenty points in four hours?

That efficiency was insane.

Seeing how excited Yu Hongfei was, Lin Chu raised an eyebrow and asked,
“How many points do you get per zombie?”

After hearing Yu Hongfei’s answer, Lin Chu was momentarily speechless.

“As far as I know, most people are about the same as me,” Yu Hongfei scratched his head.

These people were so wasteful.

One point.

What a pitiful waste of a zombie.

Thinking of that, Lin Chu suddenly smiled.

If that’s the case, could she add another partner to her little enterprise?

Lin Chu explained the cooperation model between herself and Zheng Ziyu to Yu Hongfei.

Yu Hongfei immediately nodded.

It was mutually beneficial—why would he say no?

Originally, he hadn’t been all that tempted by the zombie corpses downstairs.

Now, after hearing Lin Chu’s explanation, he wished he could run down and snatch up the ones Ma Yan’s team had just killed.

Those were all points waiting to be claimed.

But at that moment, Ma Yan’s group had no time to care about points.

They had already reached the entrance and were looking at the bloody mess inside the building.

“My shelter…”

Someone murmured as they looked at the wreckage all around them.

None of them were newbies—they had each experienced one to three worlds before this one.

To have survived this long, they clearly had their ways.

Though there had been infighting before, never had it gotten this bad.

The reason they followed Ma Yan was because, when they were first dropped into this world, he had used ruthless violence to kill off several threatening competitors.

They had decided to cling to his power for protection.

But ever since they joined Ma Yan in this world, things had only gone downhill.

First, Skinny Monkey and Brother Feng went with him to take some stupid trophy photos, only to get ambushed by a woman. Brother Feng died.

Then they helped Ma Yan with a special mission, only to be trapped in an elevator after someone cut the power. Lei Zi died trying to escape.

Ma Yan suspected the woman who killed Brother Feng was behind it all and scoured the area trying to find her, swearing to dismember her once he did.

But instead of finding the woman, more of their own people kept dying.

Skinny Monkey and Gangzi had disappeared. And just now, Ma Yan had killed Manzi himself.

Now their shelter was also destroyed.

They had been counting on those supplies to survive the remaining ten-plus days.

Now…

Each person harbored their own thoughts. When Ma Yan wasn’t looking, they exchanged glances.

Ma Yan had no idea what they were thinking.

His rage was about to explode from his eyes.

“That bitch! It has to be her!”

The zombies that had surged inside earlier had already rushed out and died while fighting the others.

Now the interior was empty, save for blood, flesh, and shattered glass.

The once-clean office was now total chaos.

“Let’s go! We’ll drag that woman out! She couldn’t have gotten far—uh…”

Before he could finish, Ma Yan suddenly felt a searing pain at the back of his head.

But his enhanced body wasn’t so easily knocked out. He didn’t go down immediately.

He turned around in fury, only to see Dacheng swinging a baseball bat right at his head.

He didn’t even have time to dodge and took a second direct hit.

Still, he didn’t fall.

Furious, he raised his machete and swung at Dacheng.

All of this played out at the back entrance—right in full view of Lin Chu and Yu Hongfei upstairs, who were munching on sunflower seeds while watching.

The two silently evaluated Ma Yan’s combat capabilities.

“He must’ve consumed a lot of stat-boosting items,” Yu Hongfei said.

Lin Chu’s eyes gleamed with interest. “Body Enhancement Pills?”

Yu Hongfei nodded, then shook his head.

“Yes, but not just those.”

“Body Enhancement Pills have varying effects depending on your physique. In earlier worlds, I heard people say the better your base stats, the stronger the effect.”

Lin Chu thought of her own barely noticeable results and pursed her lips.

“Ma Yan must’ve had a strong base body, but why do you say it’s not just that?”

“Someone tested it before—you can only take three of those pills. Any more, and they stop working.

For Ma Yan to endure a sneak attack and still fight one against four like this, it’s not something three pills could achieve. He must’ve used some higher-grade enhancement drug.”

So the pill limit is three, and there are even stronger enhancement items…

Lin Chu processed this as she folded her arms, watching the fight below.

Ma Yan, though still standing, was starting to stumble and his attacks grew wild.

“He’s about to go down.”

Just as Lin Chu said that, Ma Yan exposed a weak spot and got hit in the wrist.

Clang—

The machete dropped to the floor.

Now disarmed and injured, Ma Yan was finally subdued by the very people who had once followed his lead.

All four of them were wounded, two of them quite badly—their chests split open, flesh turned inside out.

Ma Yan’s machete was razor sharp, leaving deep, bleeding gashes.

The two seriously injured men tore off their shirts to bandage themselves while the other two, with lighter wounds, found rope and tied Ma Yan up.

Seeing this, Yu Hongfei let out a quiet sigh of relief.

The enemy had turned on each other. Their leader was now immobilized, and the four remaining were injured—two badly, two lightly.

For Lin Chu and the others hiding upstairs, this was great news.

And then, they heard something even more exciting.

“Where’s your storage space? Speak!”

The man who had earlier dared to confront Ma Yan slapped him hard, grabbing his jaw and demanding answers.

Storage space.

Ma Yan had a spatial inventory.

Lin Chu and Yu Hongfei locked eyes—and both saw the spark of keen interest in the other’s gaze.

Lin Chu already had her own space, and Yu Hongfei, having been through multiple worlds, knew exactly how rare and valuable spatial abilities were.

Their minds raced as the people below began to rummage through Ma Yan’s belongings.
