That boat, Lin Chu had seen it the previous night.

She remembered that the boat was used by two brothers who had secretly kept the food from the official airdrops hidden away.

She squinted her eyes, watching the boat slowly approach from behind the window.

The two brothers were not very tall, Lin Chu estimated them to be a little over 1.7 meters. They both had short, uneven buzz cuts, probably because there was no barber at the base right now, so they just shaved their heads themselves.

One of them was rowing, vigorously paddling toward the apartment buildings.

Now, the two brothers were once again within her sight.

They had parked their boat outside the building, and the younger brother, with his older brother’s help, climbed into the building.

The older brother impatiently glared at the younger one from inside.

“It’s really over, all our stuff is gone!”

Hearing this, the older brother stopped everything, dropped the paddles, and pushed himself off the windowsill, flipping inside.

Very soon, Lin Chu could hear some panicked voices.

“Gone? How could it be gone?”

“Why is everything gone?”

“Did we remember it wrong? Wasn’t it in this building?”

It was unclear who suggested this, but both brothers immediately rushed to the window to check.

“No, it’s this building. It’s the one furthest from the small hill, it can’t be wrong!”

The younger brother’s question made the older brother pause.

The younger brother seemed to be afraid of getting another slap and covered his head while speaking.

Seeing they were no longer making any moves, Lin Chu silently returned to her shelter, sat down, and thought.

The mayor they were talking about seemed like a stubborn mule.

But among people like them, opportunists, calling him a stubborn mule might actually mean that the mayor was someone who truly worked for the welfare of the people?
