Chapter 14 Are you a dog or something?
Shen Xingyan gasped slightly, leaning against the door frame to keep from falling, while covering the spot where Ji Jiangye had bitten him with one hand.
“Hiss—”
“Are you a dog or something?”
Ji Jiangye steadied himself, a trace of clarity returning to his eyes, he took a few steps back, turned around, his voice hoarse, with a hint of gritted teeth.
“Put down the things and leave.”
His voice was like he was enduring something.
Shen Xingyan couldn’t see his expression, but for some reason, he felt a slight panic in his heart. He mumbled softly, “Fine, I’m leaving!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Shen Xingyan turned the handle and walked out.
The moment the door closed completely, Ji Jiangye’s figure became unsteady, his hand supporting himself on the wall.
But the faint fragrance still lingered on his nose.
Shen Xingyan, who had run out in a panic, still hadn’t recovered. His brain was like a mess of mush. He leaned against the door, an elderly person walked towards him, carrying something in their hand.
The person looked him up and down. Shen Xingyan thought he was blocking the way, so he walked towards the elevator without saying a word.
There were many people waiting for the elevator. Shen Xingyan lowered his head, as if the scent was still lingering in his nose.
When the people who were going downstairs saw him standing at the elevator entrance, they couldn’t help but be kind, seeing his tall figure and handsome face.
“Student, are you going down too?”
Shen Xingyan belatedly realized that they were calling him. He hurriedly stepped in. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.” The person thought Shen Xingyan was a college student renter who had just moved in. They smiled.
“Did you just move into this building?”
Shen Xingyan shook his head. “No.”
“Ah, visiting relatives, right?” The woman who asked the question suddenly realized.
“That’s great, that’s great. Students should focus on studying.”
【Host, haven’t I told you before?】
The system’s voice was full of gloating.
“Shut up.” Shen Xingyan growled in a slightly annoyed tone.
“Huh? What did you say, young man, I didn’t hear clearly.” The woman in the elevator hadn’t heard clearly and responded in a confused way.
Shen Xingyan was even more embarrassed. He shook his head quickly. “No, nothing.”
The more she looked at him, the more satisfied the woman felt. He was so polite, tall, white, and handsome. He was still a college student, otherwise, she would have gotten his contact information.
For the first time, Shen Xingyan found the few minutes in the elevator so agonizing. When he finally reached the first floor, he walked out in a hurry with a forced smile.
The woman who had just stepped out of the elevator watched Shen Xingyan walk away, still seeming a little unsatisfied.
【Host, you’ve grown up!】
Shen Xingyan had only walked a few steps when a projection appeared in front of him.
The sapling in the pot had grown a lot, a huge difference from the sparse leaves it had at the beginning.
“How did it grow so fast?” Shen Xingyan was surprised. He reached out to touch the leaves and found they were much thicker.
【Great, great.】
A small watering can appeared above the pot and began to water the saplings.
Shen Xingyan:……
“Are you sure this thing is useful to them?”
【Aw, what’s wrong with trying it out, I’m happy!】
Shen Xingyan sneered and didn’t bother with it anymore. Instead, he felt a bit strange about Ji Jiangye’s condition and a little regret.
“I just left like that, wouldn’t he just be sick at home with no one to take care of him?”
【Host, the system has already given you a friendly reminder. This is heat.】
Shen Xingyan wasn’t very familiar with this, but he knew that this kind of heat only happened to alphas.
Just as he reached the classroom door, Jiang Song, an alpha from the next class, came out to go to the bathroom and brushed past Shen Xingyan.
At that moment, Jiang Song reacted strongly, letting out a “Whoa” sound and quickly moved away from Shen Xingyan.
“No, Shen Xingyan, why do you smell like alpha pheromones?”
“I remember you’re not a beta, are you?”
Shen Xingyan’s face remained unchanged. “I just finished fighting with an alpha, he left first.”
Jiang Song, standing behind him, looked at him repeatedly, puzzled. “But this is clearly not the alpha pheromone that signifies possession, or am I feeling wrong?”
Shen Xingyan, who had randomly found a seat, realized Chen Rui wasn’t here yet. He snuck a peek at the bite mark on his shoulder in the back row, while no one was paying attention.
The bite wasn’t severe, let alone through clothes, leaving only a faint red mark. However, it was still very noticeable on his fair skin.
He grumbled indignantly, “I’m not saying, Ji Jiangye is the one who needs to go to the hospital, right?”
“Heat is heat, why is he biting people?”
In his opinion, heat was pretty much just amplified emotions.
“Forget it, anyway, today’s task is complete.” Shen Xingyan had just pulled his clothes back up when Chen Rui walked in nervously from the doorway.
Shen Xingyan habitually snapped at him, “What are you doing, is there a ghost chasing you?”
Chen Rui stood in front of Shen Xingyan, shaking his head nervously. “No, no, I was just afraid of being late.”
Shen Xingyan took out his phone and checked the time. It was only two o’clock, what was there to be late for?
He opened his task list, swiped it, and found that Ji Jiangye had actually sent him a message.
For a moment, Shen Xingyan’s expression was indescribable.
Chen Rui sat down next to him, seeing his expression, he was curious. “Shen Xingyan, what’s with that expression? It’s like you just saw a ghost?”
“Go away.” Shen Xingyan didn’t even bother to raise his eyes.
After thinking for a moment, he decided to check it out anyway. He just clicked on QQ, but before he could click on the message, he heard someone calling his name from the podium.
“Shen Xingyan, come here.”
Shen Xingyan subconsciously put away his phone, raised his head and looked at the podium.
Teacher Chen Nengqiang stood there, beckoning to him with his finger. “Let’s talk outside.”
Shen Xingyan got up from his seat and followed Teacher Chen Nengqiang out.
Chen Nengqiang put his hand on his shoulder and said earnestly, “You’re a sophomore now, you should think about what you want to do in the future.”
Shen Xingyan didn’t have any grand ambitions. After learning about his impending death, he only had one thought.
That is, to live first and foremost.
“It’s okay.” Shen Xingyan’s attitude was indifferent.
Chen Nengqiang sighed. “I know your family isn’t short of money, but you should at least get a degree, right?”
“Or participate in some competition.”
“The PE teacher told me that your physical fitness and athletic talent are good. You were also a sports student when you got accepted here. Why didn’t you consider continuing to study?”
“Competition?” Shen Xingyan hadn’t considered it much. He didn’t explicitly refuse or agree, just ambiguous.
“Let’s see.”
