Chapter 15 Saving myself, not my friend
As soon as Shen Xingyan came back, Chen Rui couldn’t wait to grab his sleeve. “What did Strong Brother say to you? What did he say?”
Seeing his gossipy look, Shen Xingyan ignored him and walked straight to his seat. Chen Rui followed him and sat down, muttering softly.
“But I guess Strong Brother would only talk about those few things, there’s nothing much to say.”
“Actually, when I came to class today, I passed by the office and heard Lao Chen talking on the phone with someone, it seemed like the class monitor.”
Hearing that name, Shen Xingyan’s ears perked up slightly.
Chen Rui didn’t care if Shen Xingyan was listening or not, he continued to mutter. “The class monitor seems to be coming back around the time of the sports festival.”
“I don’t know what’s going on.”
Sports festival? Wasn’t that next week?
Shen Xingyan’s alarm bells went off. Not to mention anything else, just the two days of the weekend, he felt like his little sapling could wilt.
“Right.” Chen Rui’s eyes twinkled, revealing a different kind of thought. “Shen Xingyan, do you have any plans for the weekend?”
“I don’t know.” Shen Xingyan was still thinking about how to save his own life, so his answer to Chen Rui’s question was very perfunctory.
Chen Rui rubbed his hands together and finally revealed his purpose.
“It’s just, do you want to watch a movie on the weekend?”
Shen Xingyan heard this and looked at him with disdain. “What’s wrong with you? Watch a movie with you?”
“Oh, no.” Chen Rui coughed a few times, his eyes shifty. “It’s just that I invited that junior to watch a movie, but I thought she might be nervous being alone with me, so I wanted to find someone else to go with.”
“Okay, okay, so you want to drag me?” Shen Xingyan’s eyes almost rolled to the back of his head.
“That’s what brothers do, right?”
“I’ll get you a pair of those limited-edition sneakers you’ve been eyeing!” Chen Rui lowered his voice, staring at him with an almost pleading look.
Shen Xingyan raised an eyebrow at him. “You’re going all out, aren’t you?”
Those limited-edition sneakers weren’t just about money, it was more about connections.
It seems like he really likes her.
Shen Xingyan hadn’t seen Chen Rui’s look yet. Just as he was about to agree, he had a sudden inspiration.
“I can watch a movie with you, but you have to go with me to see someone.”
Shen Xingyan’s thinking was simple: Ji Jiangye, someone who cares so much about face, wouldn’t be going crazy in front of others, right?
“See someone?” Chen Rui was stunned. “Did someone provoke you recently?”
“Are you going to take care of that person?”
Shen Xingyan directly slapped Chen Rui on the head. “Can you think a little bit better of me?”
“It’s always you who wants to fight, right?”
Chen Rui held his head where he was hit, feeling wronged. “Who is it?”
“You’ll know when the time comes.”
Shen Xingyan’s ambiguous words made Chen Rui even more curious, but he knew that no matter how much he asked, he wouldn’t get an answer.
To change the subject, Shen Xingyan subtly asked how the junior agreed to watch a movie with him.
Speaking of this, Chen Rui became a bit hesitant.
“Well, it’s just, at noon…”
Seeing Chen Rui’s voice getting quieter and quieter, Shen Xingyan couldn’t stand it anymore. He slapped him on the shoulder.
“What are you muttering about, are you a mosquito?”
“It’s nothing, it’s just a surprise, a surprise.” Chen Rui smiled foolishly, but still didn’t say anything sensible.
Shen Xingyan knew there was something going on, but he didn’t ask further. He lay on the table listlessly.
After a while, Teacher Chen Nengqiang, carrying a large bag, came to the podium and coughed deliberately.
The students, who had been dozing off, all raised their heads, puzzled.
Wasn’t it five minutes until class?
“It’s the weekend tomorrow and the day after. These are the calculus problems you need to do. Bring them back to me.”
“Huh?” Everyone couldn’t help but wail.
“What huh? It’s just this much, only two hours.” Teacher Chen Nengqiang snorted coldly and took out all the copied problems from the bag.
Seeing that there were three sheets for each person, everyone went blank.
“Lao Chen, even after college, we still have to suffer from homework, who said there’s no homework in college?”
“Is this even considered a break?”
“I want to die, can someone come and stab me here.”
“Okay, okay.” Teacher Chen Nengqiang lightly patted the table. “Stop yelling, the class monitor is on leave, just a few of you come up and hand out these problems.”
“Those who are not here, we’ll give it to them later.”
Shen Xingyan looked at the papers on the table and suddenly had a good idea. With this, he wouldn’t he have a better excuse?
“When are you going to watch the movie?”
Chen Rui slumped on the table like a deflated balloon, listlessly fiddling with the problems.
“Huh? I haven’t booked it yet.”
“Then let’s decide on tomorrow.”
“Huh?” Chen Rui sat up straight. “Shen Xingyan, why are you in such a hurry?”
Shen Xingyan put the three sheets of paper into his desk, looking at the people who were about to leave with a straight face. “You didn’t give me one just now.”
The person who was called didn’t think much, thinking it was just these problems, why would they need to take them again, so he gave Shen Xingyan one.
“It’s not that I’m in a hurry, after going out tomorrow, I can sleep at home the day after tomorrow, right?” Shen Xingyan stuffed all the problems into his rarely used backpack.
Chen Rui thought about it and felt it was true.
He was in class, and he noticed that Shen Xingyan was dozing off. He belatedly remembered that even when he wasn’t on break, Shen Xingyan still slept at school.
He wanted to ask, but the topic had already passed. If he asked again, Shen Xingyan might kick him.
Shen Xingyan had originally decided to take a good nap in the afternoon, but unfortunately, the first class was Chen Nengqiang’s calculus, so he had to force himself to stay awake and look at the blackboard.
As he was staring at the blackboard, about to fall asleep, a current sound rang in his mind.
【Host! Wake up!】
“What the hell?!”
Shen Xingyan jolted awake, the sound he made not only made Teacher Chen Nengqiang look at him, but all the students in the class who were praying to the gods also looked at him unanimously.
“What’s going on? Shen Xingyan?” Chen Nengqiang put down the chalk in his hand, his smiling face still faintly showed a hint of gritted teeth.
Shen Xingyan stiffened for a moment before he put on a smile. “Sorry, sorry, I interrupted, I interrupted.”
“You continue, you continue. Everyone is eager to learn this knowledge point.”
Hearing this, Chen Nengqiang rubbed his chalk-dusty hand on the textbook, looking pleased. “Okay, okay, I will definitely teach you all! I won’t let you leave until you learn it!”
The students who were still drowsy:…… Okay, okay, so that’s how it’s going to be, huh?
Shen Xingyan, who had successfully changed the topic and attention: I’m sorry, classmates, saving myself, not my friend.
