Chapter 2 Ji Jiangye’s Scent is Kind of Nice
Shen Xingyan was in a daze, feeling like he was being held by someone. There was a sweet and sour scent, but when he tried to smell it more closely, it disappeared.
He grumbled in dissatisfaction.
“If you don’t want to be thrown down, be quiet.”
Before he completely lost consciousness, Shen Xingyan heard only these words and cried out in his heart.
Who are you, daring to treat little master like this!
Half an hour later, in the hospital room, the first thing Shen Xingyan saw when he woke up was a pink Hello Kitty floating in the air, completely out of place.
He twitched his lips, closed his eyes again and took a deep breath, convinced he must have seen wrong.
“You’re not mistaken!”
Shen Xingyan: Woke up too fast, how did I hear Hello Kitty talking?
“Isn’t this the most popular toy for kids nowadays? Why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?!”
Shen Xingyan couldn’t hold back his sarcasm, “You should also consider how old the kids are.”
The system silently pulled down its appearance, finding that next to Hello Kitty was written “Under 5 years old, Host’s favorite value top 1.”
It silently switched back to its initial interface, like a drawing board.
“Cough, cough.” It attempted to delete that part from its memory bank, refusing to admit it was its fault.
“I’m the Destiny Correction System.”
Shen Xingyan muffled himself under the blanket, which slowly slid down, his eyes looking at it with much disbelief, “Are you some kind of prank?”
“Who in the hell is playing a prank on little master?” He tried to reach out and swat it away, but found that not only did it remain motionless, but his hand passed right through it.
Shen Xingyan was fearless in his life, except for these ghosts and spirits.
He nervously pulled the blanket back over his head, his mind filled with how he had just responded to it. It’s said that if you respond to ghosts, they’ll take you away!!
The system pulled up Shen Xingyan’s information and read it word by word.
“Shen Xingyan, from Jincheng, beta, eighteen years old, the youngest son of the Shen family, Destiny Value: -9999, unlucky from childhood to adulthood, six months later.”
“Death.”
Shen Xingyan frowned, could this be Li Yi’s prank?
The system seemed to sense what he was thinking and said with a touch of pride, “I am neither a prank nor a fantasy.”
As it was about to speak, the door “bang” opened.
“Master, Master Shen should be fine. It should be because those alphas were releasing pheromones indiscriminately.” A woman in a white coat, looking about thirty years old, walked in.
“But strangely, Master Shen’s pheromone levels suddenly appeared in the blood test, and they were extremely unstable.”
“As a beta, this should not happen.”
Ji Jiangye “hmm”ed, his cold eyes glanced at the bed, knowing that Shen Xingyan was awake. After a moment’s thought, he decided that this was their own business and turned his head.
“Talk to him directly. I’ll go out.”
The doctor turned her attention to the bed and saw Shen Xingyan’s head sticking out. She called out, “Master Shen.”
Shen Xingyan remembered this person. When he was pursuing Ji Jiangye, he once accidentally got injured and was also brought to this private hospital for treatment.
“How are you feeling?” The doctor sat down on the chair next to the bed.
Shen Xingyan tilted his head, looking at the bruises on his body, which had already been taken care of.
Seeing him looking at his injuries, the doctor said tactfully, “Do you feel any changes in your body?”
“Like pheromones, for example.”
The hint was there, how could Shen Xingyan not understand what she meant?
“Pheromones?” He frowned, “I don’t have pheromones, and I can’t smell them either. Shouldn’t you, as a doctor, know this better than me?”
“Yes, that’s normally the case.” The doctor said softly.
“But in Master Shen’s case, there might be a slight change.”
“What do you mean?”
The doctor took out a medical report from her pocket, which indicated many hormones that Shen Xingyan couldn’t understand at all. His head was still a bit fuzzy, and looking at them made his head ache.
“Just say it.”
“The meaning of this medical report is that you may undergo a second differentiation in the near future,” the doctor pondered how to say it tactfully, “meaning there is a possibility of transitioning from beta to omega.”
“I suggest you have your parents take you for a detailed examination.”
“Although very few people undergo a second differentiation, it’s not impossible, Master Shen, there’s no need to panic.”
Shen Xingyan was stunned. He had already differentiated into a beta since the second year of junior high, and now he was suddenly told that he might have a second differentiation.
When the doctor left and Shen Xingyan was about to go home, he realized that his jacket was missing.
If he went home like this, his family would worry for a long time. He hesitated at the door for a long time, but in the end, he called out to Ji Jiangye, who was sitting on a chair outside.
“Let me borrow your jacket, I’ll return it tomorrow.”
Ji Jiangye looked away from his exercise book and towards Shen Xingyan, “Why?”
“No reason.” Shen Xingyan didn’t want to tell the person who rejected his advances the reason, feeling embarrassed. He could only speak with a slightly threatening tone.
“If you don’t give it to me, I’ll spread rumors at school tomorrow that we fought outside!”
Shen Xingyan was being reckless, knowing that Ji Jiangye had already seen his embarrassing state after the fight today.
Ji Jiangye slowly raised his eyelids, a part of his wrist exposed from his sleeve, his fingers holding the pen were distinct and slender.
He placed the pen on the exercise book and lightly tapped on it, as if considering possibilities.
“Give it to me.” Shen Xingyan looked awkward, his tone unintentionally sounding a bit coquettish.
Ji Jiangye looked at the red-haired young man in front of him, recalling the scene he saw by the window today, carefree and now standing in front of him with slightly flushed cheeks, asking for his jacket.
He took off his jacket and threw it into Shen Xingyan’s arms, then lowered his head again, picking up the pen to write something in the notebook.
Shen Xingyan, relieved to have the jacket, wanted to give him money but found that his phone was missing. He could only cough awkwardly.
“When I return your jacket tomorrow, let me know how much the medical expenses are, and I’ll pay you.” After saying this, afraid that Ji Jiangye might regret it, he put on the jacket and headed for the elevator.
In their class, Shen Xingyan was already considered tall, standing at 1.8 meters, but wearing Ji Jiangye’s clothes made him feel a bit oversized, with the sleeves covering half of his palm.
“Why did you buy such a big size?” He muttered as he waited for the elevator.
He never admitted that Ji Jiangye was five centimeters taller than him.
As he entered the elevator, Shen Xingyan inexplicably raised his hand to smell it, further confirming that the person who had held him earlier was indeed Ji Jiangye.
The scent was sweet and sour, with a hint of alcohol. It was quite pleasant. He made a mental note to ask Ji Jiangye about the brand of perfume.
