Chapter 3 Who? Who is the person with great luck? I didn’t see clearly.
Shen Xingyan wrapped himself tightly and was about to sneakily open the door when several flashlights shone on him all at once, making his eyes unable to open.
“Young Master!” The slightly gray-haired woman at the front was extremely excited and kept shouting into the villa.
“Madam! Young Master is back!”
Shen Xingyan: Aunt Chen…
It’s just outrageous, can’t I quietly come back home?
After being discovered by them, he was practically escorted to the door of the house. Before his feet could step onto the steps, a figure in red immediately rushed out from inside and hugged him directly.
“Xingyan, Xingyan!” The woman in a red evening gown hugged his neck with tears in her eyes, leaning against his chest, “Why did you come back so late, you scared Mom to death!”
Shen Xingyan sighed, worried that his wound would be exposed during the pulling, so he could only pat the woman’s back, “I’m fine, Mom.”
“It’s just a little late.”
Shen’s mother choked, “It’s not just a little late, it’s an hour and five minutes and thirty-five seconds late!”
The maids behind her, who were holding up her skirt, saw her crying and noticed that it was almost seven o’clock, becoming extremely anxious.
“Madam, the banquet is about to start. It would be very impolite if we don’t leave soon.”
“This banquet is very important to the family.” Aunt Chen stood by her side and said softly.
Upon hearing this, Shen’s mother pursed her lips, tears still hanging on her eyelashes.
Shen Xingyan looked at his mother, who, despite being close to fifty, was still pampered by his father and had the temperament of a little girl. He couldn’t help but smile.
“Alright, Mom, Dad must be waiting for you, right?”
Shen’s mother could only reluctantly let go of his hand, took a step back to look at him, and repeatedly instructed, “Xingyan! It’s too dangerous outside at night, don’t go out, you hear me?”
“I know, I know.” Shen Xingyan nodded, watching her walk away thoughtfully.
His mother had been working hard with his father long before, and when she was thirty and pregnant with him, she suffered a lot. His father wanted to get rid of him at that time, but she endured it silently, a soft-hearted but strong-willed omega.
If she found out he was fighting outside, she would be covered in wounds.
Shen Xingyan, who was six feet tall, suddenly shuddered in place, suddenly unable to imagine that scene, but then he thought.
If it weren’t for Li Yi’s sneak attack, he wouldn’t have these injuries.
“Young Master, dinner is ready.” After seeing off Shen’s mother, Aunt Chen hurried back, looked up at his clothes, and furrowed her brows in confusion.
Why did this coat look different after going out?
“Young Master, your coat—”
But Shen Xingyan, feeling uncomfortable all over due to the fight, naturally had no appetite for food.
He waved his hand, not hearing Aunt Chen’s voice, “I’ll go upstairs to change first.”
Aunt Chen stood in place, full of confusion, thinking for a while and finally feeling that she must have been mistaken.
Back in his room, Shen Xingyan finally breathed a sigh of relief, took off his coat, folded it neatly, and placed it on the bed.
The coat was gray, looking very ordinary, but it felt good to the touch.
Shen Xingyan stood by the bed with a troubled expression.
“How should I give this to Ji Jiangye tomorrow without attracting attention?”
He began to pace around the room because the relationship between the two of them was extremely tense in the eyes of those at school.
Since Ji Jiangye rejected him and his attitude was so firm, he had to reduce his contact with him.
Who knows how this behavior looks to others, as if he failed to pursue love and turned into enemies. He was somewhat in awe of how imaginative those people were.
“Should I give it to him during morning reading?” Shen Xingyan stopped in his tracks, “I’ll go early, then find a place to hide the clothes, and give it to him after class, that should work.”
[Host.]
The sudden voice startled Shen Xingyan, “Who!”
“Who dares to sneak into my room!”
System:…
[If it’s not working, host, go see a doctor.]
It had been observing his rich self-talk for a long time.
Shen Xingyan: ?
“What do you mean?”
The system manifested in front of him, displaying a facial expression on a large board, trying to look cute.
[???]
The more Shen Xingyan looked at it, the more he felt that this system was abnormal and even showed expressions.
He disdainfully tried to push the board away with his hand, but as before, it had no effect.
The system cleared its throat, looking composed.
[Let me introduce myself again formally. I am the Luck Correction System, specialized in correcting imbalanced luck in various small worlds.]
“So?”
[My purpose in coming here is simple, to help you. Your luck value is currently at -9999, it’s a miracle you’ve made it this far.]
[In my eyes, you’re like a gas cylinder filled with bad luck, always at risk of exploding.]
Shen Xingyan knew he was indeed quite unlucky. From childhood to adulthood, he had never been free from minor or major illnesses, almost dying several times. It seemed he even consulted many people, including some masters.
But he was a staunch materialist!
“Is that all? This information can be easily found around me,” Shen Xingyan sat on the sofa nonchalantly, “Your credibility is too low.”
[Until your death, your bad luck will affect everyone around you.]
The system’s voice suddenly turned mechanical.
[Haven’t you noticed? It’s already starting to affect the people close to you.]
Shen Xingyan’s body stiffened slightly, his expression becoming serious, “What do you mean?”
The system also knew that what it said was like stepping on his sore spot, but not being too direct, fearing that, given his character, convincing him would take a lot of time.
Its voice reverted back to how it sounded when it first met Shen Xingyan,
[Actually, it’s quite simple. You just need to nurture your luck seed and let it grow into a big tree.]
“Grow a tree?” Shen Xingyan’s eyes darkened. With his track record of even killing a cactus, this might just mean a death sentence.
The system flew in front of Shen Xingyan, projecting a 3D image on a screen, showing a potted plant with a palm-sized dark brown seed inside.
[This is the luck seedling, and the only way to cultivate it is to have contact with a person with great luck, who is around the host.]
“Great luck? Someone like that around me? Who?” Shen Xingyan was very curious about what a person with great luck would be like.
The screen retrieved the potted plant, and the next moment, Shen Xingyan saw the face he had been obsessed with chasing a few months ago appear on the screen.
Ji Jiangye.
