Chapter 4 “Classmate, the student union is conducting checks, please cooperate.”
“Just a moment.”
Shen Xingyan took a deep breath, closed his eyes, then opened them again, repeating this a few times, only to see those eyes that seemed to be calm and unruffled by anything.
“You, um, tell me again, who is this person?”
[Ji Jiangye]
The system’s response was incredibly quick, as if it anticipated he would ask that.
Shen Xingyan was originally lying limp on the sofa. Upon hearing this, he instantly slid from the sofa to the carpet.
“No, no!” He placed his hands on the sofa to prop himself up, pursing his lips.
[Dead in six months, the people around you will also…]
“Stop, stop, don’t say it.” Shen Xingyan weakly lay back on the sofa. Despite enduring numerous fights without being defeated, hearing what the system said made him collapse.
[^_^]
My once glorious reputation is gone.
He covered his face with his hands, feeling despondent.
A good horse doesn’t turn back. If he were to change his mind now, Chen Rui and his friends might tease him for it.
[Now, host, you have three choices: A. Plant; B. Choose A; C. Choose B]
Shen Xingyan, looking dumbfounded, said, “What’s the difference between this and coercion?”
[Indeed, host ^_^]
This brutally honest statement almost made Shen Xingyan curse. When he thought of picking up his phone to check if Chen Rui and the others had sent any messages, he realized his phone was nowhere to be found.
He had to open the door and shout downstairs, “Aunt Chen, I accidentally lost my phone today. Could you buy me a new one and a SIM card, please?”
Aunt Chen was tidying up in the dining room and, upon hearing Shen Xingyan’s request, replied promptly, “Alright, I’ll get it for you later.”
Returning to his room, facing the irritating board, Shen Xingyan fell into endless contemplation of life.
Why did it have to be Ji Jiangye? But if you said it was him, there was no problem. He was good-looking, had good grades, and was always voted as the top alpha that everyone wanted to be with.
There seemed to be nothing to fault about him.
The more Shen Xingyan thought about it, the more frustrated he became. When he saw the coat on the bed, he became even more agitated and quickly punched it a few times, as if venting his frustration.
[…Host?]
The system silently moved a bit further away.
After releasing his frustration through the punches, Shen Xingyan deflated, “I’ll do it, I’ll do it, okay.”
Rubbing his already messy red hair with both hands, he then abandoned the board and picked up his pajamas to head into the bathroom.
Upon coming out, he saw various code data flying chaotically on the board at a speed too fast to follow.
“What are you doing?”
[My system manual tells me that I should adapt to local customs to establish a friendly relationship with the host.]
[So, I’m browsing the internet.]
Shen Xingyan’s mouth twitched, “I didn’t expect you to be so ambitious.”
[Thank you for your praise, host.]
With a cute voice, the system’s tone was filled with pride.
[The main system once said, to be a good system, one cannot slack off, must strive to learn, and progress in life!]
Shen Xingyan, who usually slept in class, fought after school, was now drying his hair, suddenly frowned, feeling like he was being offended.
[Host, the system has analyzed your blood test report for today. According to my analysis, you have indeed entered the second differentiation stage.]
The data on the system’s page had disappeared, and it had collected cases of second differentiation from a vast database.
[System suggests that you should go to the hospital for an accurate examination. There aren’t many cases of second differentiation.]
Shen Xingyan draped a towel around his neck, allowing water droplets to fall from his hair tips, appearing unconcerned.
“What’s the big deal? It’s just differentiation. I experienced it when I was in the eighth grade.”
Looking at the examples of second differentiation on the webpage, with all of them being painful processes and showing inconsistent manifestations, some people even became sensitive to pheromones.
Seeing Shen Xingyan’s obvious disregard, the system, with a hint of a vengeful attitude, decided to let him experience the hardships.
After a hasty meal, Shen Xingyan finally got his phone back. When he logged into QQ, his messages were almost overflowing.
Most of them were from people he had brought with him today, but not limited to them.
Shen Xingyan first opened the chat box with Chen Rui. Apart from the trivial questions asking where he was and if he was okay, the exclamation mark in the last sentence almost filled the entire screen.
[Shen Xingyan! Starting from tomorrow, the school will implement mandatory evening self-study for freshmen!!]
Shen Xingyan hadn’t expected this. Jincheng University had never had a mandatory evening self-study policy, except for those who wanted to study.
He typed a few words.
[When did they say that?]
Chen Rui, as if he had been waiting by the phone, replied instantly.
[Hey, bro, you finally showed up. Isn’t the news in the class group?]
Shen Xingyan was confused. Class group? Why didn’t he have it?
[Where’s the class group? I’m fine, tell the others.]
[Oh right, wasn’t it you, Shen Xingyan, who said you were too lazy to join? So I didn’t add you. Now I’m adding you.]
The next second, Shen Xingyan received an invitation to join the group, and after accepting, he had to wait for the administrator’s approval.
Chen Rui kept sending him messages.
[Shen Xingyan you don’t know. I just finished dealing with some people this afternoon. When I went back to look for you, guess who I saw?]
Shen Xingyan calmly picked up a water cup from the dining table and typed a question mark with one hand.
[Ji Jiangye!]
[Oh, you don’t know. I saw him holding someone! Tsk tsk tsk, I never thought that he, who looks like an otherworldly immortal in school, would be openly carrying someone in a princess hug in private!]
The water Shen Xingyan had just taken a sip of sprayed out, causing him to choke. “Cough, cough!”
[It’s true! Shen Xingyan, don’t doubt it! I was stunned at the time and didn’t have time to take a picture. Otherwise, I could have used the picture to be sarcastic to Ji Jiangye’s face.]
Shen Xingyan slammed the water cup onto the dining table with a bang, his eyes shining as he typed.
[Did you see clearly who he was holding?!]
[I didn’t see that. It just seemed like the person in his arms was tall and slender. Tsk tsk tsk, anyone who could catch Ji Jiangye’s eye must be a beautiful omega, right?]
[But do we have someone like that in our school? Is it a freshman?]
Shen Xingyan pulled out a tissue to wipe his mouth. He hadn’t seen, he hadn’t seen, that was good. Pretending to be unconcerned, he changed the topic.
[It must be. Forget about that for now. How’s that kid Li Yi doing?]
Chen Rui’s thoughts were quick, and the topic was successfully diverted by Shen Xingyan.
Seeing that Chen Rui didn’t say anything more, he breathed a sigh of relief, hoping to forget this matter quickly.
After being startled by Chen Rui, Shen Xingyan felt tired and fell asleep soon after lying down.
Early the next morning, Shen Xingyan hastily ate a few bites of breakfast, carrying the gray coat he had washed and dried last night, and took a car to the school gate.
He was a veteran of being late, but today, he was not. When he arrived at the school gate, he happened to encounter the student union members checking students’ appearance and discipline.
As Shen Xingyan was about to walk in, a hand stretched out from the side to stop him, a red mole on the back of the hand flashing past.
It looked so much like someone else’s hand.
He was still a little groggy from waking up this morning and thought to himself as he saw the hand.
“Classmate, the student union is conducting checks, please cooperate.”
The voice came from above his head, the tone as cold as the air, with a hint of deepness.

I like this story but I find it odd that a University does student appearance checks and that MC is a school bully getting into fight with other school bullies? It feels very « highschool » to me… but perhaps I’m wrong and seeing things from my very personal Western perspective!
