{It really matches the woman I saw in the video 2}
Before long, Gu Wei received a call from the second young lady, who had already been stopped by the traffic police.
Gu Wei, however, no longer paid attention to Cheng Shuangyi’s words, treating them as inconsequential. He decided to delegate the matter to his subordinates, feeling that he had more important issues to attend to.
In a deep voice, he instructed, “Help me investigate Shen Qi’s time in Ohio, and look into a woman I don’t know the name of. She’s always seen with him.”
“I want to confirm their current relationship.”
—
New York, USA.
“Qian Xu, a friend wants to meet you.”
After leaving the banquet, Qian Xu was on her way to pick up Yan Li from the children’s hospital when she received a long-awaited call from Li Xiyin. Her voice sounded stuffy, as if she had a cold.
“Have you returned?”
“Not yet.”
Li Xiyin was taken aback. In fact, she had already gathered all the information on Qian Xu from the past few years and compiled everything she could find into a file. But now, Gu Wei wanted Qian Xu’s contact details.
Even though she had urgently declared half an hour ago that “they have broken up,” Gu Wei’s strong attitude remained unchanged. His persistence forced Li Xiyin to call directly and ask Qian Xu about her willingness. She knew that, under normal circumstances, Qian Xu would never refuse her.
This time, however, it was likely to be different.
So she lowered her voice, deliberately slowing her speech as she asked, “Who is it?”
She had never expected that one day, Qian Xu would no longer implicitly agree to her plans but would specifically inquire about to whom her contact information would be given.
This caught Li Xiyin off guard for a moment. Quickly, she pretended nothing had happened and brought up her hearsay about the party, despite not attending. “I certainly hope you socialize more… I just sometimes worry that this might offend too many people?”
Qian Xu almost blurted out, “Shouldn’t that be my concern? Why are you worried?”
Before this, Li Xiyin had hardly felt any pressure from Qian Xu, but at that moment, she realized she couldn’t change any decisions Qian Xu had made.
Caught speechless, she could only mumble, “If you’re not comfortable…”
“I’m not comfortable,” Qian Xu explained, treating her as a friend and being particularly detailed. “Right now, I don’t want to meet too many people too soon, especially from Jiangcheng. I hope you can keep my contact information private.”
For Li Xiyin, this was a difficult blow to accept.
She couldn’t help but try to explain to Gu Wei again. But when she turned around, she found that Gu Wei wasn’t concerned about the reasons; he only cared about the result. After learning that Qian Xu was unwilling to engage, he quickly lost interest.
“I haven’t had a chance to ask…”
Li Xiyin felt frustrated and anxious at the airport in the U.S., but the call was ruthlessly cut off.
Meanwhile, Gu Wei in Huaguo lowered his gaze, repeatedly searching for clues. He flipped through a stack of women’s photos, looking for pictures of Qian Xu and the child, but it wasn’t until he finally spotted a silhouette of Qian Xu against a sunset that he realized it matched the woman he had seen in the video earlier.
