The Female Supporting Character Who Accompanied The Main Character Through Poverty Has Awakened: Chapter 24-4

{Where did this little brat come from? So damn annoying! 4}

Qian Xu let out an “Oh” and looked around at the faces of the other employees, only to realize that they were all trying to suppress their laughter but couldn’t help stealing glances at the gossiping scene, each one pretending to be uninterested.

She understood at that moment that she had completely become the sinner in front of Zhao Buhui.

She had thought that most relationships in the world were not that solid, and the friendship she had built over the past few days had likely come to a halt.

However, she never realized that things could take another turn; for instance, Zhao Buhui, still flaunting his confidence, held her meal card in his hand and said, “It seems this meal card will belong to me for the rest of the year.”

Some relationships are destined to be let go after being pricked, but others are not so simple.

This unpleasant little episode ended just as easily.

She was only good at ending any unpleasant scenes; no one had ever taught her that some situations could indeed be repaired.

Perhaps it was the warmth of the cafeteria that overwhelmed her, but she caught a glimpse of the blazing Miami sun in Zhao Buhui’s playful and reckless eyes. That sun scorched everything, including the dark and unseemly aspects of human nature.

Still unable to comprehend and merge the differences, Qian Xu sat there in a daze.

It wasn’t until the lunchtime break that the female employees surrounding her started to disperse, leaving her and Zhao Buhui staring at each other, the meal card having become Zhao Buhui’s possession right in front of her.

A strange landline number suddenly scrolled across her phone screen.

The area code was not from out of town.

Qian Xu thought this might be a business-related contact, so she instinctively answered the unfamiliar number, only to hear the voice she had despised for a long time: “Aunt! Have you been busy lately? Why haven’t you come to take care of me and my brother? I found a variety show that seems quite interesting; you would definitely like it. Maybe we can discuss it in person…”

So, the expected plot of the story unfolded just as it should—

It seemed that Shen Qiyue had not received Cheng Shuangyi’s approval for her appearance on the variety show. So, she was quite adept at using her participation to provoke her mother.

She was nothing like a naive child.

Even though she wore a face of estrangement, she remained unwavering in her “foolish” affection for her father, even extending that blind affection to Qian Xu and Shen Qinian.

She would even let herself be at their beck and call.

As long as she was needed, she should make an appearance. And when she finally got her way and arranged for Cheng Shuangyi to accompany her as a guest, she chose to ruthlessly kick him aside.

For a long time, Shen Qiyue had not taken a moment to reflect on her actions.

Qian Xu didn’t mind teaching them how to behave; she just hadn’t had the chance to speak before Zhao Buhui snatched her phone away. “Where did this brat come from? So damn annoying!”

Clearly, it wasn’t hard to guess who was calling.

He seemed to see right through her, but not entirely.

Qian Xu had to inform the well-meaning man in front of her, “I have my own way of handling this. I don’t need to trouble you; I certainly won’t show any unnecessary kindness.”

“I know.”

He suddenly stood up, casually picked up her used tray, and tossed it back into the trash. “I was born to be the bad guy.”
